Passport Nature Park Network

These six natural spaces demand preservation because of their high scenic, ecological, scientific and educational value. All you can imagine: lagoons, crystal-clear rivers, majestic waterfalls in the deep of the forest, oceans teeming with life... Is it paradise? Currently Galicia has six registered nature parks: Fragas do Eume, Corrubedo e lagoas de Carregal e Vixán, in A Coruña province; O Invernadeiro, Serra da Enciña da Lastra y Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés in Ourense province; and Monte Aloia in Pontevedra. In addition, the land-maritime National Park of Illas Atlánticas composed of the islands of Ons, Cíes, Sálvora, and Cortegada. Complete this document by getting it stamped at the visitor centre in each of the parks.

T. 988 788 755 F. 988 788 762 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es The Nature Park Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés, located in the Raia Seca with Portugal, is a showcase of harmony between humans and nature, featuring a wild landscape of great granite boulders, narrow valleys and roaring rivers bent by many waterfalls, such as Corga da Flecha, and thermal springs. Golden eagles, Iberian ibexes, the lily of the Xurés, and daffodils are highlights of its wildlife. This stamp in my passport confirms I was here. Date and stamp:

Visitor Centre. Casa da Costa. 981 878 532 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es Galician Shore Ecosystem Interpretative Centre (CIELGA). An excellent sample of a sandbar-lagoon system, with an extensive and highly evolved dune field, of high scenic and natural value. It is probably the best and largest example of this type of environment in Northwest Spain and hosts a wide range of well-preserved habitats in a relatively reduced space. Visitor Centre, Ombre to Caaveiro km5, 15.600 Pontedeume 981 432 528 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es Lower course of the Eume river. Abrupt valley of tectonic origin with deep gorges and steep hillsides that holds one of the largest climatic forests in Galicia, with an exceptional ecologic and scenic value. Nature Interpretative Centre Casa Forestal Enxeñeiro Areses 986 685 095 886 120 650 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es Located at the southern tip of the Galiñeiro mountain range. Its scenic beauty and value for tourism and leisure are due to the Aloia s considerable altitude (629 m. above sea level, with the summit at San Xiao peak); its location overlooking the valleys of the Lower Miño and the Louro; its singular forest cover; its elements of ethnographic interest; and its archeological sites. Nature Conservation Service of Ourense. Rúa do Paseo, 18-5º Ourense. 988 386 376 988 386 029 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es Highlands in the southern side of the Central Ourensano Range, delineated by the Ribeira Grande and Ribeira Pequena river valleys, tributaries of the Camba and part of the Sil river basin. The Park is framed by the peaks of the Queixa and Fial das Corzas ranges and the Montes do Invernadeiro. The area holds a high botanical and wildlife interest and an exceptional geomorphological and scenic value. This stamp in my passport confirms I was here. Date and stamp:

Nature Park Visitor Centre in Biobra 988 324 319 http://parquesnaturais.xunta.gal/es Northeastern limestone range of the Valdeorras region and entry point for the Sil river into Galicia. Its impressive calcareous cliffs contrasts with the Sil valley and the meadows flanked by oak and chestnut forests where some well-preserved traditional hamlets still stand. These features compose a unique type of landscape in Galicia and give the Park a high scenic value. This stamp in my passport confirms I was here. Date and stamp:

Rúa Palma, 4. 36202 Vigo T. 886 21 80 82 www.parquenaturalillasatlanticas.com These peaks were long time ago part of the littoral ranges; now isolated by the flooding of the shores, they constitute an island chain protecting the estuaries (rías). Their profile reveals two distinct sides. On the west side, facing the open sea, is abrupt, with steep cliffs.
