With the «staziun da basa», our new activity centre, we have opened a service station that will equip you completely for all excursions in the Engadine, be it alpine or crosscountry skiing, hiking or biking. Our Activity Manager is here to assist you in your sporting activities, in cooperation with the Mountain Railways Engadin/St.Moritz, the Bike School Engadin, the Ski Service Engadin, the Swiss Ski School Celerina and other partners. From sporting activities to sports gear and outfits, from beginners to top athletes you will be looked after in every conceivable way. Everything in one place in the «staziun da basa» of the Cresta Palace, Celerina. After an actionpacked day your sports equipment will be stored in the locker reserved for your own room including a ski-shoe heating and glove drying facility.

The Engadine with its total of 350 kilometres of ski slopes has memorable experiences in store for every winter sports fan. The Engadine slopes give people of all ages free range, whether they are skilled skiers or beginners, on skis or on snowboards. Those who manage to get up early in the morning are rewarded by untouched slopes and a beautiful sunrise. The mountain railways are open from 7.45 to facilitate this incomparable snow white carpet experience for that irresistible first swing in the snow no crowds anywhere. Another top-class experience is the snow safari. Via Furtschellas you reach Piz Corvatsch at 3303 m a.s.l.: here the views over the entire ridge of the Alps are breathtaking. When visibility is good the contours of the Mont Blanc massif can be spotted in the distance. After spectacular runs on perfectly groomed slopes you ski along the Hahnensee-Run down to St. Moritz and from there you take the Signalbahn up again to the skiing area of Corviglia/Marguns. Here the day can be rounded off nicely in one of the many après-ski bars. Those still longing for more can take the funicular up to Muottas Muragl and admire the last sunrays above the valley while enjoying a delicious dinner in the midst of sublime mountain scenery.

This is the beginning of the Engadine winter magic. When the lakes freeze over and the snowy-white mountains glitter under a deepblue sky, the Engadine beckons you to enter this wonderland. Take a walk over the frozen lakes and wonder at the wide vistas of the high-alpine valley and the special light of the Engadine a unique experience when the sun is going down. More picturesque winter walks await the visitor in the side valleys such as the romantic Val Fex or the Val Roseg. Those who want to take it easy can experience the snowy landscape from the comfort of a horse-drawn sleigh. As soon as temperatures plummet and the first snow has settled, some hiking paths and pass roads are turned into sled runs. From long downhill stretches to short and easy slopes the Engadine offers a wide variety of sledding options. THE ENGADINE: A CROSS-COUNTRY SKI PARADISE The network of cross-country ski trails in the Engadine extends over 220 kilometres. 42 of these kilometres are the most famous in Switzerland: they form the track of the Engadine Ski Marathon from Maloja to S-chanf.
