Property Council New Zealand and Rider Levett Bucknall are delighted to announce this year s 92 nominations into the Property Industry Awards 2015. The awards are an annual celebration of excellence in property development judged on economic and financial factors, project vision and innovation (including degree of difficulty), design and construction, owner and user satisfaction, and sustainability and efficiency of operation. RLB has partnered with Property Council New Zealand to present this awards program since its inception in 1982. The winning properties are being announced at a black tie awards evening in front of more than 1300 guests, at Vector Arena in Auckland on 12 June 2015. Tony Sutherland Clyde Quay Wharf is a remarkable premium residential development incorporating extensive public spaces and retail built on an existing wharf once housing the Overseas Passenger Terminal for visiting cruise ships. The project involved complex construction of a parking building below the existing wharf deck within the tidal zone along with associated strengthening and remedial works to the existing wharf structure. It is one of the most spectacular sites in Wellington, a very worthy 2015 finalist.

Ormiston Primary School, Auckland The new 2,738 square metre primary school in Auckland includes a large multi-purpose hall, administration zone, library, four modern learning habitats and a dedicated learning area for Kelston Deaf Education Centre (KDEC) students. The Five Star Green star rating was achieved with highly efficient HVAC design, low energy performing, rainwater recycling and extensive scooter and bike parks. The project also includes significant civil works and allowance for future expansion of stages two and three and the junior high school site to meet growing population numbers in the area. Te Atatu Library and Community Centre, Auckland A new Community Centre and Library for Te Atatu Peninsula to replace an existing facility. The building comprises of a main hall and four meeting rooms with ancillary facilities for the community and a library with workroom and toilets. The site has been landscaped to integrate with the existing park. Masterton Courthouse, Masterton In December 2011, the 110-year old Masterton Courthouse was closed suddenly due to a Seismic Assessment Report. Re-roofing brought the building up to current building regulations and a refurbishment to meet modern courthouse standards. The original character of the building was maintained while creating a fresh and functional environment. Stephen Gracey As New Zealand s first PPP (Public Private Partnership) project, it posed its own unique set of challenges. The Auckland South Corrections Facility is a stand-out custodial project, a benchmark example for future prisons. The facility has been designed with international best practice principals for reducing reoffending in New Zealand.

Masterton Courthouse, Masterton In December 2011, the 110-year-old Masterton Courthouse was closed suddenly due to a Seismic Assessment Report. Re-roofing brought the building up to current building regulations and a refurbishment to meet modern courthouse standards. The original character of the building was maintained while creating a fresh and functional environment. Meade Clinical Centre, Hamilton Waikato District Health Board s new Meade Clinical Centre is the most significant part of the redevelopment at Waikato Hospital and the biggest hospital project ever seen in Waikato and Bay of Plenty. This five-storey 32,000m 2 clinical centre was constructed in the middle of a live hospital campus at a build cost of $150 million.
