Dear Parents: This brochure is to acquaint you with the annual San Juan Unified School District s Cadet Corps Summer Camp. The location of the Cadet Summer Camp for this year will be the San Juan District s Camp Arcade near Soda Springs The area is 80 acres. (Alternate camp site will be San Luis Obispo). Your son will leave La Sierra High School at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, June 17. He will return to La Sierra on June 23 at about 4:00 P.M. (7:00 P.M.) The cost will be $11.00, which will cover all meals and insurance. Transportation by school bus will be provided from La Sierra to the camp and back to La Sierra. The $11.00 will be paid to your school commandant prior to June 1 st. There will be a P.X. (Post Exchange) at camp, so your son should bring along some spending money. The Cadets will be well supervised by the commandants of the individual schools involved, as well as other qualified teachers. From the time you leave your son at La Sierra High School until the time you pick him up on the 23 rd of June, school rules will be in effect. The cooking will be done by the cafeteria manager and chef of La Sierra High School.

The Objectives of the San Juan Unified School District s Annual Cadet Summer Camp are as follows: 1. To provide: a. Opportunities to apply all principles of LEADERSHIP the Cadet has learned. b. Opportunity to practice conservation and outdoor living. e. Cadets with an awards system consistent with the summer program. f. All Cadets with new group and individual experiences, both academic and field. g. For camp improvement. h. The opportunity for students and commandants to exchange ideas and experience. i. Outdoor rifle marksmanship experiences consistent with the State Hunter Safety Program. j. Advanced experiences for those who have attended the camp more than one time.

It is recommended that each of those Cadets attending the 1962 Annual Summer Encampment take with him the following items: 1.
