Retail market at a glance Types of market Serbia is focussed on the large cities where you can find forms of retailing depending to western standard. But most of western brands are not represented by holder of rights and are sub-franchiser of surrounded EUfranchise-holders. The penetration of the market by retail store chains is on very low level. Beside the six to eight largest cities the standard of maintenance is made by local oriented tradespeople and in small single oriented stores. In large cities local maintenance is given by chain stores but in regard to population on a very low level. Without any proof of statistic rate of retailing floor for each citizien can be increased massive to fulfill necessary obligations for a pleasant standard of accommodation. Major cities (more as 150.000 ) Chain stores for groceries, one or few large hypermarkets C&C-markets in Suburbs local supply by Mini-Stores Not centralized Shopping-Centers for a damage of Center of each City (last one: UZCE in Novi Belgrade) Few DIY-Market (p.e. Belgrade with 1,5 Mio. citzien: 2 units) Tradepeople in centre are copying western standard and brands holder of rights are mostly two domestic retailers Monopolization of the market District cities (more as 80.000 ) Few chain stores for groceries, standard in supermarkets in regard to last 70s or early 80s No large stores Local oriented maintenance Small trade and handcraft oriented supply No penetration of any kind of DIYmarkets No western brands at all Local cities (more as 40.000 ) Few chain stores for groceries, standard in supermarkets in regard to last 70s or early 80s No large stores Local oriented maintenance Small trade and handcraft oriented supply No penetration of any kind of DIYmarkets No western brands at all Self oriented maintenance

Retail market at a glance Competitive Environment in market Serbian market is dominated by one large domestic retailer. In most of the cities that company is represented with different local brands. The company is right holder and partner of some western companies like car trading and pharmacy, but western company are starting to cut down connection to do their own business. We are the opinion that this dominating player is keeping (without standard proof) at least half of the retail business in Serbia. The rest is spread in two larger companies from Croatia and three to four international brands that have already opened stores. In case of no existing competition the range of prices for all good of supply are on an at least 30 % higher level of price as in western countries. Grocery Hypermarkets: Tempo, Mercator- Rodic, Idea, Inter-EX (Intermarché) etc. C&C: Metro, Rodic, Maxi etc. Supermarket: Maxi, Tempo- Express, Rodic, Idea, SuperVaro, Valdi etc. Small-Stores: Maxi and gas stations organized by ÖMV not organized domestic retailers Green markets in most cities for local goods Monopolization of the market DIY-market & Furniture DIY - Market Few chain stores of Merkur (HR) in Belgrade / Novi Sad and first store of Bricolore in Nis (F) one store of Pevec (HR) and local Home Depot in Belgrade Furnitures local organized tradepeople few stores of Kika (A), Regina (SLO) Local oriented maintenance Small trade and handcraft oriented supply No penetration of market No western brands at all Retail Sale Few chain stores for elelctronic products from GR & RO (largest player about 10 shops of 800 m²) 3 larger shopping-center with a copied western standard in average no large stores (300 m²) Local oriented supply Small trade and handcraft oriented supply No penetration of any kind chain stores Few western brands in major cities None of the five largest western retailers of textile Chinese organized trade houses

Retail market at a glance SWOP for an entry S t r o n g n e s s Fast growning population & economy Young, well-educated & fashion-oriented customers No large and strong international rival No penetration of chain stores Substandard maintenance of retail ground in comparison to population No well-organized local retailers W e a k n e s s low average income and salaries locally oriented self-supply one dominating national player small country of less than 10 Mio. inhabitants dominating and centralized capital city No EU-Country No strong currency P r o s p e c t s Short time in penetration of new market Participation in economic growth Precursor in western retailing Western standardized development and partnership with known brands No lone warrior Fastest adoption of laws and regulations of EU-standards High expected annual increase of turnover and profits by law taxes R i s k s Adoption of EU-standards will take longer Own offer will fail needs of customers Nationally dominating player will force for and take influence on expansion Serbian economy will collapse Administrative barriers Barriers to ecomomic growth Become lone warrior Development will take longer time National rivals are stronger than expected 10 V.
