New Zealand Proposed Itinerary especially prepared for Rebecca Recommends A Luxury Indulgence in New Zealand

Welcome to New Zealand Set in the azure seas of the South Pacific Ocean, New Zealand is renowned for its clean green environment and remarkable scenic beauty from rugged mountains and ancient glaciers to beaches, bays and bush. Discerning travellers from all over the world rate New Zealand a destination not to be missed. New Zealand is more than magnificent landscapes, it is about a people and a society that has a vibrant and rich culture; a melding of a proud Maori heritage and modern European and Polynesian influences. New Zealanders themselves friendly and open are proud of their country and its achievements. They have an egalitarian approach to life that visitors find refreshingly calming and welcoming. New Zealand offers outstanding experiences including wilderness fly fishing and deep-sea game fishing, hiking and helicopter adventures, diving, hiking, hot air ballooning, skiing and golfing tours, gourmet cuisine, wine trails, house and garden tours as well as sports, cultural and artistic activities. New Zealand is also known for its fine foods and wines. Seafood and top quality agricultural produce form the basis of the exciting and innovative Pacific Rim cuisine.

Day, 01 March 2017 - March 2018 Upon arrival at Auckland International Airport you will be met by a representative of Southern Crossings who will hand over your New Zealand documentation and transfer you to the Domestic Airport prior to your onward flight. The long established wine-growing region has produced some of the finest wines of almost every variety.

Day, 02 March 2018 Experience visiting the treasured native bird, the kiwi, in the wild. There are five species of kiwi in New Zealand and they are all endangered but at Cape Kidnappers a sanctuary to these precious birds and we can offer you the opportunity to see a kiwi in its very own, natural habitat. Tours are arranged with experienced guides who work within the sanctuary. They carry out essential monitoring of the kiwi chicks after they have been released on to the property and you can join them as they check the radio transmitters and weigh and measure the birds to monitor their well-being. You will be collected from the lodge and transferred to a site close to where a chick has been located. Walks may be catered to guests ability but are dependent on the location of the kiwi. A portion of the price charged is transferred directly to the Cape Kidnappers Sanctuary to help them continue their work of preserving our native species (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes duration).

Day, 03 March 2018 This morning you will be met at your accommodation by your private vehicle and guide for a full day tour of Hawke's Bay, including highlights such as food and wine, sightseeing, history, Maori Culture and artists and also spend time with some of the personalities of the Bay. Classes incorporate a harvesting visit to Otahuna s organic working gardens, provide an introduction to planning menus and offer a special chance to learn first-hand cooking techniques in our kitchens before tasting the results for yourselves. While at leisure in Christchurch we recommend the following unique local experiences: Christchurch is known as the Garden City and has many beautiful examples to explore. Top picks are the botanical gardens in the middle of the city, the old homestead of Mona Vale in Fendalton, and Riccarton Bush where you ll find one of the last patches of native forest on the Canterbury Plains. Learn how the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 affected the city of Christchurch and her residents at Quake City, a small museum in the heart of the Re:Start container mall. There is also an earthquake exhibit at the nearby Canterbury Museum. Shop up large at the city s iconic department store, Ballantyne s, and at the adjacent Re:Start Mall, a collection of retail stores temporarily set up in colourfully painted shipping containers as they await the new premises to be built. Roll around the city s downtown attractions on the historic tram network, a particularly good alternative to walking on a scorching Summers day. Or experience the city in the evening aboard the Christchurch Tramway Restaurant for a fine meal with an unbeatable view. Learn the tale of the two cathedrals, the iconic Christchurch Cathedral which still lies in ruins, and the Cardboard Cathedral, the temporary replacement literally built out of cardboard, and containing a stunning stained glass window. Play on one of New Zealand s finest golf courses, Clearwater, former home to the New Zealand Open.

You will then fly to the mouth of the Sound and along the rugged West Coast. Here you will have the opportunity to view seals in their natural colonies. From the Tasman Sea you will fly inland over glaciers and frozen lakes before landing in a remote wilderness site to enjoy a picnic lunch. At the end of your excursion you will be returned to your accommodation (weather dependent approximately 4 hours duration).
