We are delighted that your marching band is participating in NESBA Wakefield on October 7, 2017, with performances beginning at 3 p.m. We are happy to once again host this event and these talented performers. Our priority is participant safety so we ask for your help adhering to our schedule and event logistics. The schedule including warm up times and locations will be provided as we get closer to our event.
1. Student drop off 2. Bus lot B 3. Truck lot Warm up area P P 2. Bus lot A stadium ARRIVAL: For safety reasons we request that all students unload in the Student Drop Off area. There is no unloading of busses in the Bus Parking Areas. 1. Student Drop Off - Enter the loop at the Main WHS Entrance (front of WHS). Greeters will be there to assist students, stamp hands, and provide an information packet to the Band Director. 2. Bus Parking - Festival Division, Division 1, 2 and 3: After dropping off students, take a left onto Farm Street and take 1 st left onto Hemlock Road. Continue up the hill, past the performance stadium (Landrigan Field). Bus Parking Area (Bus lot A ) is at the end of the road (side of North East Vocational School). Division 4 and 5: After dropping off students, take a left onto Farm Street and take 1 st left onto Hemlock Road. Bus Parking Area (Bus lot B ) is the first left (side of WHS). 3. Equipment Trucks Take your 3 rd left on Hemlock Road into the parking lot directly behind the school and in front of the track facility. The parking coordinator will give direction where to unload/park. WARM UP: An escort will assist your band from the Student Drop Off Area to the back of the WHS to your assigned practice area. Warm up schedule and practice area assignments are firm. Warm up Area 1 or 2 are on the Beasley football field, inside the track Pit Area 1 and Pit Area 2 are outside the track
PROCEED TO STADIUM: Fifteen minutes prior to their performance time, all bands and pit crews proceed to the stadium. Exit via truck parking lot entrance Cross Hemlock Road at the cross walk Use side walk on the right hand side of Hemlock Road Proceed to the top of the hill, past the Reserved Parking Area, and turn right into the Band Entrance into the Stadium. EVENT CLOSE: Please exit the stadium the way you came in with your band. Go out the Band Entrance/Exit and proceed to Hemlock road in the area marked off for Bands. Cross the cross walk 2/3 of the way down the hill into the Equipment Truck Parking Area. The buses for the Festival Division and Band Division 1, 2 and 3 are located in Bus lot A (right hand side when leaving the stadium) while the buses for Band Division 4 and 5 are located in Bus lot B (bottom of the hill, side of WHS). ADDITIONAL DETAILS Ticket prices for the public are $8 (HS students and younger / seniors citizens) and $10 (adults). Event programs will be available. School restrooms are through the field house entrance at the back of the school as well as behind the concession area in the stadium. Please enjoy food and drink from our fully equipped concessions facility. Emergency medical response will be on call. Please remember that there is NO FOOD OR DRINK, except water, allowed on the turf fields. NO Motorized vehicles are allowed on the turf fields. We invite Drum Majors and Color Guard Captains to take the field for awards at 6:05pm (Divisions 1-3 and Festival) and at the end of the evening (Divisions 4 and 5). Directions to Wakefield High School: https://goo.gl/maps/tax1threbw92 From points South Take Route I-95 North/RT 128 North Take Exit #39 for North Avenue At end of ramp, turn RIGHT onto North Avenue toward Wakefield Center Travel straight 1.75 miles through 4 sets of lights. At the intersection of North Avenue and Main Street, continue straight onto Nahant Street. Follow Nahant Street to its end on Farm Street. Wakefield High School is at 60 Farm Street. Student buses turn left onto Farm Street, and then turn right into the high school drop off area. Busses will be directed to bus parking area after student drop off. Equipment trucks turn right onto Farm Street and left onto Hemlock Road to access truck parking behind the high school. From North Shore Take Route I-95/Route 128 South to Exit 39. Turn LEFT at the bottom of the ramp onto North Avenue. Follow Directions Above. From Route 93 Take 93 N or S to Route I-95N/Route 128 North toward Gloucester. Follow Directions above. Spectator Parking: Reserved & Handicap Parking is at the top of Hemlock Road on the right side, directly in front of the stadium. NO public or volunteer parking is allowed in this lot. Public Parking o Travel all the way up the hill to the end of Hemlock Road into the North East Vocational School Parking Lot on 100 Hemlock Road. o If space is available, you may also park in the parking lot directly across the road from the stadium.
