It provides details on parking options and offers alternative and flexible ways of getting to work through encouraging green travel such as using public transport, our bus services (where available), other green travel options and car sharing. It applies to all Vodafone employees (permanent and temporary), direct contractors (those employed by external parties working with us or on our behalf) and our visitors. What do I need to know? We provide parking at the UK people sites (where available), parking offsite at our own premises and at leased car parks (where available). At the Newbury HQ Campus, we also have a commuter and shuttle bus services. We can help arrange car sharing and support cycling and walking to work, all of which forms part our Green Travel Plan. Our objective is to provide everybody with a solution that suits them best, when we receive your application we take into account the following: Registered disabled (space guaranteed) Distance you travel to work The availability of public transport or Vodafone buses People who are registered carers What childcare commitments you may have Any particular business needs The length of your contract with us (contractors only) Page 2 of 5 C2 Vodafone Restricted
How does the car park management scheme work? Please can you select which option is most suitable for you and let us know: If you require parking on or offsite at any of the UK people sites covered by the Policy, please complete an online application form. Members of the Blue Badge scheme, will automatically get a space We will deal with your application within 3 days If you travel by motorcycle /scooter, you will automatically get a space to park but please still complete the first section of the online form. Vodafone employees can apply for parking as part of a car share group (instead of individual permission to park). If we cannot accommodate your parking onsite, you may be allocated parking at an offsite location. If your circumstance change e.g. moving houses please drop us a note and we will update our records. Or go online to https://www.vodafoneukproperty.net/newburyupdate The number of parking spaces at individual sites will be driven by space available, planning permission and government policy. There may also be agreements in place restricting parking by Vodafone people within a specified distance of your site. How do I get in and out of the car parks? Where we have barriers, they operate by recognising your car number plate. Should the barrier fail, then please swipe your ID access card at the barrier to exit. For car share groups, please swipe your group exit card at the barrier. If you travel by motorcycle/scooter there s a separate motorcycle path at the exit of each car park that has no barrier. Will I need a windscreen permit to display? We will provide windscreen permits where required and to those using the impaired mobility spaces. What happens for new starters? New starters can park for the first two weeks of employment if their application has not yet been received or is being processed. What happens if I m on maternity leave or long-term absence? (Employees only) When you become pregnant, please let us know and we will work out how to make your parking arrangements as easy as possible. Don t forget to let us know when you intend to go on maternity leave and subsequently return to work and we will update your details. What happens if I have an unplanned or an emergency situation? Please contact the commuter travel desk as soon as possible travel@vodafone.co.uk so that we can work out how best to support you. If you re an employee and need to return home (or some other location) in an emergency and don t have a car at work, you can ask your line manager to authorise a taxi and reclaim the cost on expenses If you re a permanent Vodafone employee without permission to park, you ll be given some wild cards annually to help cover emergency situations. Where do visitors park? External Visitors: Please ask your guests to sign in at reception; visitor parking is managed through local receptions (where available) and through an online booking tool https://visitor.express - Newbury and Stoke. Internal visitors: These are employees who are not based at a site where they will be parking; they can park for up to 2 days a week (where parking is available) and should sign in through receptions. Home workers (employees only) Please apply for parking and you may be given permission to park on site for up to two days per week. Pavilion events (Newbury HQ) The car parking arrangements at HQ Campus are designed to allow for the normal numbers of visitors in any given day. Therefore events at the Pavilion during normal hours require special treatment. If you re organising an event, please work closely with the Pavilion manager to make sure car parking can be provided. What happens if someone is in breach of this policy? This policy is designed to be as fair as possible in allocating parking to those who need it most and provides for exceptional or emergency situations. The Travel Team can always be contacted to help with any issues you may have. The Travel Team closely monitors parking across UK sites where the policy is applied. Anyone who is found to be in breach of the policy will be contacted by them, in person, by phone or by email. Breaches are recorded in the Car Park Management System (CPMS) as follows: 1 st time we will contact you and advise 2 nd time we will contact you and may advise your line manager or contract manager Page 4 of 5 C2 Vodafone Restricted
