Lake Tekapo Moeraki Boulders 23 November - Christchurch to Lake Ohau via Lake Speight s Brewery Meet up with your Contiki team at 9am in Christchurch and begin our journey. Check out the views of Mackenzie country and Lake Tekapo. We ll stop off to see the intense milky blue waters of glaciallyfed Lake Tekapo and the famous Church of the Good Shepherd - a spot you ve most likely spotted on Instagram before. Well guess what, now it s your turn, and it s all about that #nofilter beauty. Oh Lake Ohau how you impress with your glorious views of Mt. Cook. Yet another swoonworthy location where you ll have to pick that jaw up off the ground. Kick start the evening with a spectacular optional glacier flight over Mt. Cook for all new views of the country s highest mountain. 24 November - Lake Ohau to Dunedin You ll be waking up with a smile on your face this morning as you pull back the blinds to the sight of the bedazzling Lake Ohau. Another Instagram famous destination, rising early is pretty much the only way to make the most of the fresh lake air and insane glassy lake vistas. Head to Moeraki for a look at the massive boulders located smack bang on the beach. Climb on top, take a pic, and learn about the Maori history here, before the road trip to the South continues. Next up, the great student city of Dunedin. As the student hub of NZ Dunedin never fails to impress travellers, and for those from the UK you ll notice a distinct Scottish throwback. 25 November - Dunedin to Queenstown Before we farewell Dunedin we ll head to the base of Baldwin Street, the world s steepest street, for a look at the mind boggling angle. Seriously, living on this street would give you major vertigo. Welcome to the adventure capital of the world - Queenstown. On arrival we ll take a quick tour to get your bearings. Maybe tonight you can grab a delicious FergBurger? Rest up tonight - the next few days are going to be BIG. Meals: Breakfast 26 November - Queenstown Today is yours to get acquainted with Queenstown and spend some time mulling over the activities up for grabs in the next two days. To get you warmed up, we ll be treating you to an exhilirating Shotover Jet experience, so throw those hands in the air as you fly through narrow Shotover canyons at speeds of up to 85 km/hr. The afternoon and evening is yours to get into the Queenstown vibes. Dunedin 27 November - Queenstown It s times like this that you really start to work out what sort of traveller you are. And human for that matter. You might be the one trailing through wine country and doing a spot of horse back riding, or you may be that guy that crams in a bungy jump, a skydive and a heliraft & still craves more. 28 November - Milford Sound Today we ll drive you to this stunning World Heritage area, then jump on board a boat and cruise these incredible waters to experience this world-renowned slice of paradise. Keep your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins, and seals amongst this incredible scenery. Coach back to Queenstown. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner 29 November - Queenstown to Franz Josef Glacier As we farewell Queenstown we ll drop into Arrowtown and lakeside Wanaka, a pretty ski resort town situated on a lake front and dwarfed by mountains. This town is fast becoming one of NZ s most popular spots, and a trip to the Dough Bin for a luscious pie should be high on the list today. Wanaka Keep an eye out for wildlife as we head through stunning Hasast Pass and Thunder Creek Falls, beautified by ancient rainforests, small glaciers and waterfalls. Note how the scenery changes as we roll away from Queenstown through the Southern Alps. Playing host tonight is the town of Franz Josef, home to some of NZ s finest natural beauty with bushlands and glaciers that almost reach the sea. From walks and hikes or heli rides, to just chilling in Franz, the day is yours to enjoy your way. Be sure to breathe in that fresh alpine air - doesn t it feel good. Meals: Breakfast 1 December - Franz Josef Glacier to Christchurch Armed with a new found appreciation for frozen water, we hop back on the coach and start making our way back to Christchurch. We stop in the gold rush town of Hokitika and watch authentic carvers get to work on green jade and take a look at traditional Maori art.
