MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER As a former Gold Coast student, I can truly say this city offers a quality educational experience in an unbeatable location. With the Gold Coast s diverse offering of education and training delivered in a clean, vibrant, modern and safe environment, the region is the perfect backdrop for students both locally, domestically and from across the world to learn. Study Gold Coast is the city s peak education and training industry body. The team at Study Gold Coast is committed to help promote and grow the education, training and innovation industry on the Gold Coast. We are working closely with our members, partners and stakeholders to position this sector as a leading economic driver of the city. Study Gold Coast is an active advocate for the industry. We seek to bring the industry together and create opportunity for growth between our members. Our four pillars are promote, grow, unite and educate. Our role is to promote the city as a destination of choice for students and to provide platforms for growth and development for industry. We bring together the industry with business and government to further enhance the growing sector. The organisation has a long term strategy to grow the number of students on the Gold Coast by providing meaningful experiences, connections and memories. Study Gold Coast enables collaboration between the industry to better promote and advocate the sector and assist its growth to become a more significant economic pillar. Being part of Study Gold Coast allows members access and insight to local data and trends and growth opportunities. We look forward to meeting with your organisation and welcoming you to the Study Gold Coast team. Shannon Willoughby 3

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR It is my pleasure to support Study Gold Coast as the city s peak education and training industry body. Study Gold Coast plays an important role in the education and training industry on the Gold Coast, enjoying a close relationship with Council as the body endeavours to actively support, promote and grow the region s industry. The education and training industry provides employment for close to 18,000 Gold Coast residents, so it is important to have an industry body like Study Gold Coast, in place to provide as much support as possible to the sector. I would particularly like to acknowledge the growing interest and support that Study Gold Coast has shown towards the thousands of international students in the city. Education remains one of the nation s top export industries, so I welcome the programs, initiatives and overall support that Study Gold Coast has extended to the promotion of international education growth within the global environment. As a member-based organisation, Study Gold Coast s continued success and growth will rely on further Gold Coast education and training providers joining this peak body. I am confident that continuing membership growth, coupled with active communication and engagement between Study Gold Coast and the city s education and training providers will guarantee the organisation s long-term success. I look forward to working closely with Study Gold Coast in the future and encourage your favourable consideration of their funding applications. Yours sincerely Mayor Tom Tate 4

OUR VISION, OUR MISSION VISION The Gold Coast is Australia s favourite classroom. The vibrant city is recognised globally for providing quality education and training, innovation and opportunity in the backdrop of an unrivalled destination. MISSION Study Gold Coast positions the education and training sector as one of the city s fundamental economic pillars. As the peak industry body, it promotes and unites the industry to grow student numbers domestically and internationally.
