DAY 1: DEPART FROM THE USA (Sunday) Take an overnight flight to Málaga. DAY 2: MÁLAGA (Monday) Bienvenidos a Málaga! The second largest city in Andalucía, Málaga is rich in cultural heritage, home to famous architecture and art, and has a vibrant international atmosphere. A Forum representative will meet you at the airport and help you transfer to El Colegio Sagrada Familia el Monte in Málaga. Here you will experience what it is like to go to a public high school in Spain by getting to know local students and be hosted by their families. Meet your host families and get settled in. While living with a host family, you will discover that Spanish is more than just a textbook language. It becomes a living and working language, spoken and written daily. You will eat Spanish food (at the standard Spanish meal times), meet Spanish people, and have an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish in reallife situations. Enjoy your first evening with your host family. DAY 3: SPANISH CLASSES & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES (Tuesday) Breakfast with your family before going to school. You will attend Spanish classes every morning. All educational materials required during your stay will be provided to you. After your classes, you will have lunch at school. In the afternoon, your Forum Tour Manager will take you on a walking orientation tour through the center of Málaga. Passing through the pedestrian streets of the Centro Historico, you ll see the iconic Calle Larios, the Roman amphitheater, and more. Return to your family for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 4: SPANISH CLASSES & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES (Wednesday) Breakfast with your family before going to school. Attend your Spanish classes in the morning before having lunch at school. This afternoon, you will discover the Cathedral of Málaga, known by locals as La Manquita. When construction began in the 16th century, the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural elements reflect the long period it took to finish the construction of the cathedral. Afterwards, you will visit the Plaza de Toros, called la Malagueta. It was built in 1874 and still hosts coridas today. Return to your family for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 5: SPANISH CLASSES & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES (Thursday) Breakfast with your family before going to school. Attend your Spanish classes in the morning. At lunch time, meet your Forum Tour Manager and head to the vibrant Atarazanas market, where you will get some of the best ingredients you
need for your cooking workshop to follow. Before you begin cooking, enjoy an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting of different local and awardwinning olive oils and some snacks like roasted almonds and the famous Aloreña olives. You will then learn how to cook a delicious paella and a traditional gazpacho. Return to your family for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 6: GRANADA (Friday) After breakfast with your family, meet the rest of your group and head north to the city of Granada by private motor coach. Granada is in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and is known for its rich, multicultural history and architecture. Visit the revered la Alhambra, an Arabic palace and fortress that dates to the 14th century. Enjoy a guided tour through the Alcazaba (the fort), the Generalife (gardens), Charles V s Palace, and the Nasrid Palaces. Spend some time exploring the winding, narrow streets of the Albaycín quarter on the other side of the gorge from la Alhambra. Enjoy the atmosphere and beauty of the city. Return to Málaga for dinner and night accommodation with your host families. DAY 7: SUNDAY WITH YOUR HOST FAMILY (Saturday) Spend the day with your family and learn more about the Spanish way of life. DAY 8: MÁLAGA - MADRID (Sunday) Breakfast with your family before boarding the AVE (Spanish High Speed train) to Madrid. Transfer to your hotel to check in, drop off your luggage and freshen up. Follow your Forum Tour Manager on a walking tour of Madrid. Discover Plaza de España with the Cervantes monument, La Puerta del Sol, the lively Gran Via, the trendy calle de Alcalá and the heart of Old Madrid. Walk to the heart of Madrid de los Austrias (Madrid of the Hapsburgs) and visit the charming square, Plaza de la Villa. Alongside the square is Casa de la Villa, designed by Juan Gómez de Mora in the 17th Century. Next to it stands Casa de Cisneros, a 16th century palace where inside the Tapestry Room holds an impressive collection of extraordinary quality. Dine at a local restaurant. Overnight accommodation in Madrid. DAY 9: MADRID (Monday) Today after breakfast, visit the Museo National del Prado. The Prado is one of the most important museums of the world and houses masterpieces by Goya and Velazquez, including Las Meninas - considered by some art historians to be the greatest painting ever created.
Free time for lunch in the spacious and iconic Parque del Retiro at the edge of the city center. In this 350-acre park, you can see various sculpture galleries and statues, including the Crystal Palace. Later, snack like a real Madrileño with some Churros con Chocolate! Next, discover the secrets of Madrid by participating in a Treasure hunt Tonight, enjoy an authentic surtido de tapas for dinner. Overnight accommodation in Madrid.
