Description and objective: Fire Building - Cooking Your patrol has been out collecting firewood (it is now in your 5-gal. bucket). It is cold and getting colder. One of your members just fell into the creek, is wet and cold, and getting much colder very quickly. You realize that you are far from your camp and cannot wait to get back to camp. You need to warm him up as quickly as possible and give him food. That means building a fire. The only member who remembered to carry his personal survival kit is the victim, and that has the only method of starting a fire that you have with you. You hope that his kit survived the fall in the creek! Prepare the wood for a fire using the items from the survival kit, a hatchet and pocketknife. Firestarters must be from natural materials. Build and light the fire quickly. Prepare Bisquick Shake n Pour Pancakes according to the directions on the container. Make six to eight 4 inch pancakes to feed the members of your patrol.
