CAMP France Feasibility study Agreement PAP/RAC France Kickoff meeting 2011 2014 Juin 2015 Field of intervention : the Var territory Functioning: a project manager, a steering committee, and three working group. Objectives: To identify and support local initiatives contributing to the ICZM protocol implementation ; To impulse the structuration of a coherent governance on the scale of the Var territory ; To develop transferable methodologies which can benefit to other territories.

CAMP France Coastal erosion and marine flooding Meetings: Sept 2015 June 2016 Cartography of coastal risks on the Var territory Objectives: to improve the local knowledge, and to help decisions makers Partnership with the Plan Bleu (CRIMED) Support of a Marittimo project on the Var territory (Vieux-Salins d Hyères) Objectives: to build a strategy on coastal erosion management with french and italian partners to think about the renaturalisation of the Vieux-Salins d Hyères (removal boulders that constitute a wall against the sea, to constitute a buffer zone). Partners: the Var department, Grimaud, Saint-Raphaël, Corse, Liguria, Sardaigna, Toscana, Cinque Terre, Firenze/Cagliari/Genova University, Consorzio Lamma. Coastal Risks Management Guide (current) Objectives: to help decisions makers and technicians, and to disseminate informations about coastal risks

CAMP France Ports and navigation basins Meetings: Oct 2015 June 2016 Education activities Objectives: to support sustainability in harbour concessions renewal, and responsible sailing Communication actions Objective: to promote the idea a way of sailing for each sailor, by informing sailors on the multiples possibilities (sharing, rental, acquisition ) * N.B: in France, the average of sea trip for a boat is only 3 times a year to promote the ecological mooring area (ZMEL)

CAMP France Archipelagoes of excellence Meeting: Dec 2015 Communication actions: Objectives: to disseminate the local initiative and knowledge on light pollutions reduction on the islands Partner: Port-Cros National Park to support local initiatives on sustainable islands Partner: Conservatoire du littoral

CAMP France Transversal actions Evaluation of marine and coastal management policies on the Var territory (current study) Objective: to obtain, for every policy, the percentage cover of the objectives of the ICZM protocol implemented by Var stakeholders, and to identify the initiatives which can be certified as ICZM. Methodology: elaboration of a survey covering all the themes of the ICZM protocol, and interviews of local actors involved in the evaluated policies. Partnership with the Water Agency & PAP/RAC Survey The Var population and its coastal zone Objectives: to get informations about the local perceptions, the behaviour in coastal zones, the development priorities. Partners: Conservatoire du littoral, PAP/RAC Newsletter Objective: to inform CAMP partners of the CAMP s actuality

CAMP France Land & Sea Forum March 31st 2016, Grimaud (Var) Place for sharing and meeting for stakeholders of the coastal zone in the Var territory Next Forum: 15-16 november 2016 Objectives during the CAMP: to create a destiny community around the ICZM; to reach an interaction between land actors and marine actors and identify their respective expectations ; to think about the way to build together on the long term a place for sharing and strengthen the governance in the Var territory. 1rst Forum: Adaptation to global changing 2nd Forum: Land & Sea governance

CAMP France Land & Sea Forum Objectives after the CAMP : To constitute a local and permanent structure of governance for the land & sea management, which would involve regions, the State and the civil society, to decide together on a project of territory. To strengthen the voice and the experience feedback of the Mediterranean coast at the national level. Which proposals for coastal management? An organization distributed on three actors: Governance and Animation: Land & Sea Forum (regional scale + departmental scale) Coastal zones Observatory (collect, dissemination of the knowledge, exchanges data conventions, archiving ) Researchers Network on coastal zones
