With the patronage of Sindacato Nazionale Scrittori NATIONAL COMPETITION OF POETRY BAGNI DI LUCCA Second edition 2011 2012 Theme of Competition FRESHWATER, SALTWATER Special section dedicated to the thermal spa resort of Bagni di Lucca: BAGNI DI LUCCA; VALLEY OF POETS, HEALING WATER Rules and Regulations Art 1- The Competition is open to all. Entries can be submitted in any language, provided that they be translated in Italian. Art 2- The Competition of Poetry in its two Sections is open to anyone, 18 or over. Art 3- Entrant can participate either with one text per theme or with only one theme (any length). Art 4- Theme of Competition FRESHWATER, SALTWATER. The objective of the competition is to tackle the problems relating to water with poetic sensibility, evaluating the aspects of beauty and comforts of water for all living things, in all its metaphorical and historical significance. Art 5- Special section: BAGNI DI LUCCA; VALLEY OF POETS, HEALING WATER The poem awarded will be that poetic composition that best describes and represents the Val di Lima in relation to the thermal value of the healing water and its properties ( known since pre-historic time) and, especially for this reason, in a location that has recalled renowned political and intellectual names but also great masses in search of relief from their health problems. Art 6- Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant, exonerating the Organization from any claim by a third party. The author is the only responsible for what he has written. Entries must never have been published or have won a prize in any other competition. Upon registration, the author must accept all the conditions indicated in the present article. Participation in the Competition does not constitute an assignment of copyright but grants the Organization licence to publish and release the poem for publication in the final book edited by Casa Editrice Onyx. Art 7- For each of the two sections, the entries, adeguately typewritten, shall be in two copies: the first anonymous, the second in sealed envelope (enclosed with precedent) to be signed with a declaration of exclusivity, the form showing release for publication, a brief curriculum (maximum 12 lines), name, surname, address, email address, and telephone number. Art 9- The awarding will be on the days of 13, 14 and 15 July, 2012. Winners that cannot be present shall not receive the award even if their poems will be published. However they may be presented by others by proxy (written statement including biodata and codice fiscale (tax code)). The Jury reserves the right to choose maximum 5 entrants whose poems, noteworthy, will be admitted for publication. Judgment of the jury is final and unquestionable. Entry of the Competition implies unqualified acceptance of all the Competition s Rules. Art 11- Nature and Value of awards:
The first three classified works shall have the right to be published as also the 5 authors previously mentioned. The three authors will receive a wellness packet from the Thermal Baths of Bagni di Lucca as well as full board at the Antico Albergo Terme, respectively for three, two, and one day. The Terme will offer various wellness packets. A plaque and personalized parchment will be given to the winners; for the honourable mention, a parchment and beauty kit of the cosmetic line of the Terme. For the Special Section, the awards are as follows: 1st Prize: 1 Vip Spa Suite Packet for one person 2nd Prize: 1 Day Spa of thermal treatments (to be chosen) 3rd Prize 6 free entries for the thermal pool Publication of poems and personalized parchment The winners will be contacted personally 15 days before the awarding ceremony by e-mail or by phone. In case of annulment, entry fees shall be entirely returned. Art 14- The Organization reserves the right to make any changes to this regulation necessary to guarantee a better performance of the Competition. Art 15- Entry of the Competition implies unqualified acceptance of all the Competition s rules. Failure to do so is grounds for exclusion from the Competition without any refund of the registration fee. Art 16- In the event of any dispute, the only legal valid text is the present notice regulation, complete of 15 articles. The Jurisdiction of Lucca will be responsible.
