The airport is situated on the E576 road, about 10 km east of the Cluj-Napoca city center and 12 km from the railway station. The size and the location make it the main airport in Transylvania (north-western Romania). The destinations offered by the Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport to passengers are varied, given fact that there are up to 36 domestic and international destinations to 16 countries of destination in Europe and the Middle East, operated by Tarom, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, Vueling, Blue Air and Turkish airlines. Passengers can fly around the world, because the airport is connected to major European hubs. Therefore from Cluj-Napoca can currently fly to Bucharest, Vienna (Austria), Brussels South Charleroi (Belgium), Dubai (UAE), Warsaw (Poland), Basel Mulhouse Freiburg, Geneva (Switzerland), Paris - Beauvais (France), Munich Dortmund, Cologne, Nuremberg, Memmingen (Germany), Tel Aviv (Israel) Venice - Treviso, Rome - Ciampino, Bologna, Milan - Bergamo, Bari (Italy), London - Luton (UK), Liverpool (UK), Dublin (Ireland), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Zaragoza, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Malmo (Sweden). To all these destinations is added series of holiday destinations operated by charter to countries such as Spain, Turkey or Greece. The year 2016 announced the opening of new destinations: Berlin- Schoenfeld (Germany, 03 July 2016), Istanbul (Turkey, 12 July) Doncaster Sheffield (England, July 22, 2016), Billund (Denmark, July 23, 2016), Alicante (Spain, July 24, 2016) Timișoara and Iași (Romania, 01 october). Cluj County has approximately 700.000 inhabitants. From this point of view, Cluj-Napoca airport can be compared to airports from European cities such as Geneva and Stuttgart that annually registers 12 and 9 million passengers. Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport is part of the modern regional airports in Europe, being the second largest airport in Romania in terms of passenger traffic and the first regional airport of the country. It is also the first airport in the category of subordinated to the County Councils from Romania. Within a range of 170 km around the city, live about 3 million potential passengers whose service is a fundamental concern for Cluj airport. In 2011, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport reached the number of 1,000,000 passengers for the second consecutive year. The year 2012 brought a slight decrease in the airport traffic, due to the economic crisis, the bankruptcy of the airline industry and competition with neighboring airports. Under these conditions we achieved a 24% traffic increase compared to 2008, the debut year for the economic crisis. In 2013 Cluj Airport submitted an increase of 11% of the total number of passengers, compared with 2012, exceeding the number of 1,000,000 passengers by the end of 2013. Continuing the positive trend of increasing the number of passengers who choose to fly from Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport, in 2014 the threshold was reached 1,000,000 passengers since November. The introduction of new destinations and continuous concern for high quality services have created premises for an increase of 14% in passenger traffic in 2014 compared to 2013 were registered 1.18 million. In 2015, Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport reached for the 5th time in its history 1 million passengers, registered in a calendar year, celebrating passenger number 1 million in September as a result of the development strategy of airport infrastructure and extend of route network, being registered in 2015 more than 1.48 million passengers. 2

Developing and strengthening the coordinator role of R.A. Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport premises in accordance with national and international regulations and standards in civil aviation; 7. Developing cooperation with national and international air transport organizations: ICAO, IATA, ACI Europe, ROMATSA, MTI, AACR, Romania Airports Association and other institutions, organizations and associations in airport activity. 3

The route Bucharest - Cluj is open, line served by L.A.R.E.S (Romanian State Airlines) with Junkers 13 planes, having a capacity of 5 seats. Cluj Airport was declared International Customs Airport by opening the first international line Prague-Bucharest-Cluj. Inauguration of the arrivals terminal with a total area of 10.812 square meters and a processing capacity of 2 million passengers per year. Inauguration of the departures terminal with a total area of 16.150 square meters and a processing capacity of 1.5 million passengers per year. 20 Decembrie 2010 The passenger with the number 1 million (within a calendar year) is first registered at the Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport. September 8, 2011 December 19, 2011 April 1, 2012 May 9, 2013 May 16, 2013 Octomber 26, 2013 December 18, 2013 The building of a new 3500 m runway begins at the Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport (Phase 1-2100 m). The new runway will have 45 m width, up to 60 m with shoulders. For the second consecutive year, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport registers 1 million passengers. Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport celebrates 80 years of civil aviation. Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport signed the contract to perform the studies in the project "Studies for the development of intermodal transport infrastructure for passengers and freight at Cluj-Napoca International Airport" project co-financed by the European Union through the TEN-T. Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport received the Award Gala Business "Business Award" for his contribution to business development. Inauguration of the new landing runway, stage I (2100m). September 1, 2015 September 10, 2015 Airports Council International (ACI World) awarded International Airport Cluj in the ACI World General Assembly and Conference. The award was given for contribution to the airport safety, under the APEX: "The high regard for exceptional contribution to the community by providing expertise International Airports in the safety program -APEX the Airports Council International." Cluj International Airport celebrated 1 million passengers for the fifth year in the history of the airport. 4

TRAFFIC EVOLUTION From 1996 until 2015, Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport has registered high growth rates of passenger air traffic. This increase was caused by the achievement of an effective and efficient management, by adoption of marketing strategies that generated the development of air traffic and attraction of new air operators on Cluj market (Tarom, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, Vueling, Lot Polish, Blue Air). 9
