Application for a Fiona McKay Flying Bursary 2015 The aims of the de Havilland Educational Trust (DHET) are: 1) a) To advance the education of the public into the work of Sir Geoffrey de Havilland and the de Havilland Aircraft Company, and b) To conduct research into this work and to publish the useful results of such research. 2) To advance the education in aeronautics and aeronautical engineering by the presentation of bursaries, awards and apprenticeships. Each year DHET will award bursaries to fund five hours flying on de Havilland Tiger Moth aircraft (subject to a maximum level of funding) at a DHET approved establishment subject to agreement. The bursaries are to enable licensed pilots to convert onto the de Havilland Tiger Moth, with the aim of providing a new stream of experience for the continued operation of vintage aeroplanes. Applicant Criteria for a Fiona McKay Flying Bursary 2015 1. At the time of application the candidate must hold a current pilot s licence appropriate to flying in command of a British registered Tiger Moth aircraft. 2. At the time of application the candidate must have a minimum of 75 hours pilot in command. Selection Process A maximum of six candidates will be selected for interview. As a result of this assessment, expected to be in May 2015, bursary awards will be made, subject to confirmation by the Board of Trustees. The decision of the Board of Trustees is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Please complete this form using black ink in order that applications can be photocopied.
