However, the Drifters philosophy still stands: an authentic African

experience at a realistic price. Take a few extra days to adjust to the smells, sounds and taste of Africa. Situated in the 35000-hectare privately-owned Balule Nature Reserve, alongside the Kruger National Park, the Drifters Game Lodge is isolated and intensely close to the magic of Africa. Your expert ranger will teach you about the habits of the Lion and the Rhinoceros, and how to identify the ferocious little Antlion and the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle. For the more adventurous we encourage game walks under the guidance of an armed ranger or you may choose one of our open-vehicle drives. Accommodation is in eight well-spaced luxury, insect-proof suites under thatch. Each suite has an inner tented sleeping chamber, offering the occupants the full spectrum of the sounds of the African night without compromising safety. All suites are comfortably appointed with electricity, full bathroom with shower and a private patio overlooking the seasonal Mohlabetsi riverbed. The central lodge building offers broad shady verandas and a comfortable lounge over-looking our rock pool. This feature pool is for those who wish to enjoy a refreshing swim or tan under the African sun. Animals encountered during your stay are in a totally wild and natural environment, and good game sightings are guaranteed. We are especially proud of our abundant birdlife, which is attracted by the riverine forest. Brunch is enjoyed on the veranda after returning from your early-morning activity and dinner is served under the stars in our traditional African boma. Eastgate Airport offers a convenient fly-in or one can self-drive from Johannesburg in five hours. The lodge is situated 17km north of Hoedspruit, gateway to the Kruger National Park. Our package includes: meals, accommodation, game drives, walks, and pick-up and drop-off at Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit). A full bar service is available. The Kruger National Park Renowned worldwide due to the struggle for survival from Kruger (Battle at Kruger), Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that rivals the best in Africa. Founded in 1898 in order to protect the South African fauna and flora, the park covers no more than 2 million acres and houses a huge diversity of wildlife. Remnants of early hominids can be seen here, from the rock paintings and archaeological sites as Masorini Thulamela. These real cultural treasures are preserved, along with flora and fauna using innovative techniques and

management policies that have brought international recognition to the park administration. The area considered a true heaven for thousands of years for South African hunters and gatherers, the Kruger National Park has become today one of the largest and most famous nature reserves in the world. The park has a length of 360 kilometers from north to south and 64 kilometers from east to west. A huge and exciting stretch where visitors can witness the full spectacle of wildlife. In fact, one of the most popular videos that have ever been posted on You Tube, Battle at Kruger, was recorded in this park. No less than 6 national ecosystems are found throughout the reserve, where can be found 1982 species of plants, 517 species of birds, 147 species of mammals (including the 5 Giant of Africa: lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and African buffalo) and 114 species of reptiles, including crocodiles 3000. The true emblem of the South African Reserve also can boast other impressive numbers: 336 species of trees, 49 species of fish. At the Kruger there can be found 350 African wild dogs as well, a specie of which exists within South Africa territory less than 400 copies. The park owns a huge family of elephants, about 12,000 copies, and this despite the fact that the reserve cannot sustain more than 8000 such mammals.the Kruger National Park is also one of the most popular tourist destinations of South Africa which comes with 21 camps and 15 lodges for safari enthusiasts. Drifters Game Lodge Customer Review Where do I start??!! Drifters Game Lodge camp is one of South Africa's hidden jewels! We stayed here for 4 days and we had an amazing time! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel as if nothing was a problem. It did not matter if it was early, early in the morning or late at night, the staff always had a wonderful smile. The food - "wow" that was something else, the best we ever ate! Each meal was a gourmet experience equal to any you would get in a first class restaurant & there was always an abundance of it! The staff were superb - so attentive and friendly catering to our every need. The game viewing and our ranger Gavin were amazing! We saw the Big 5 (and more) all at very close range and his knowledge of the animals, bushlore and care for our safety made every drive enjoyable, educational and our stay exceptional!! He (and the other staff) always made a great effort to ensure that we were enjoying our stay and getting the most memorable experience possible. OK as you can tell it was the best safari ever!!!! There are only eight tented suites under thatch, all comfortably appointed with electricity, full bathroom with shower and a private patio overlooking the Mohlabetsi riverbed. I would say pick this Lodge for sure don't even think twice about it. Thank You Drifters Game Lodge for making our stay such an unforgettable experience - we hope we can do it again! When we were leaving, we felt so sad as we wished to take everyone home with us as they had become friends. SLEEPER TRAIN & CABIN FACILITIES FROM CAIRO TO LUXOR

The Nile is a major north-flowing river in Africa, generally regarded as the longest river in the world. The northern section of the river flows almost entirely through desert, from Sudan into Egypt. Most of its cities lie along those parts of the Nile valley north of Aswan; and nearly all the cultural and historical sites of Ancient Egypt are found along the banks of the river. Most Nile River cruises visit Luxor on the site of ancient Thebes, where the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Temple of Karnak are located. Excursions are offered from Luxor to the Valley of the Kings, the resting place of more than 60 pharaohs, including Tutankhamen. On your Nile River cruise, you may also visit the 2,000-year-old, beautifully preserved Temple of Horus, or hop aboard a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sailing vessel. Many Nile River cruises also visit the High Dam at Aswan, one of Egypt's modern marvels. Things to see and do * Cairo Giza pyramids * Luxor Valley of the Kings * Aswan - High Dam

Aswan is a city in the south of Egypt, the capital of the Aswan Governorate. It stands on the east bank of the Nile about 81 miles south of Luxor. It is Egypt's sunniest southern city and is a busy market and tourist centre. Aswan is located in a beautiful setting with the Nile river flowing through amber desert and granite rocks, round emerald islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants. Here you can visit a few mosques, the souqs, the Ferial Gardens and the Nubian Museu. Just east of the cemetery in the famous area quarries is the gigantic Unfinished Obelisk. Edfu is the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement, Tell Edfu, located about 5 km (3 miles) north of Edfu where there are remains of ancient pyramids. The town is known for the major Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 BCE to 57 BCE, into the reign of Cleopatra VII. Of all the temple remains in Egypt, the Temple of Horus at Edfu is the most completely preserved. The remains of the ancient settlement of Edfu are situated about 50 m to the west of the Ptolemaic temple - to the left of the older temple Pylon. This settlement is known as Wetjeset-hor. The remains of one of seven small provincial step pyramids built along the Nile Valley, is situated about 5km north of Edfu near the west bank village of Naga el- Goneima. The structure was built from rough reddish sandstone and rises to a present height of 5.5 m. The pyramid has been loosely attributed to King Huni of the Third Dynasty. The purpose of these pyramids is unknown. Upon booking your holiday with Destination International & Go Tour Egypt a 35% deposit per person per tour is required to confirm your reservation.
