THE CANDELARIA NEIGHBORHOOD We ll start our route through the historical center of Bogota, where we ll visit the Candelaria neighborhood, famous for its colonial and republican architecture buildings, its charming museums, and its mythical and traditional historical places. Among those places, we ll find Bolivar Square and the imposing constructions around it, such as the National Capitol, the Primada Cathedral of Colombia, the Palace of Justice, the Archbishop s Palace, the Lievano Building and the Nariño Palace. Afterwards we ll visit the principal museums: * Gold Museum * Botero Museum * Emerald Museum
MONSERRAT We ll start our route going up to Monserrat Hill, where you ll find a sanctuary with the same name, surrounded by the spectacular panoramic view of Bogota. Afterwards we ll go down to Bogota s historical center to go through the Candelaria Neighborhood, famous for its colonial and republican architecture buildings, its charming museums, and its mythical and traditional historical places. NIGHT LIFE We ll take a tour through the night life sections of the city such as the 93rd Street Park, the Pink Zone, Usaquen and the T Zone. In these sections we ll hop from bar to bar, experiencing some of the different ways of partying in Bogota. We ll go to Pravda in the T Zone, to Mármara in the 93rd Street Park and to Bogota Beer Company or The Coffee Shop in Usaquen. We will also be able to continue our party in Andrés D.C. or in the Angel Falls (optional). *If you would like a transportation option, we have a chiva available, which is a typically decorated bus that you can party on (drink and dance).
CHICAQUE PARK This is undoubtedly the best plan for nature and hiking lovers. The cloud forest Chicaque is an oasis of biodiversity ranging from 2400 to 2700 meters above sea level, and is only a 50-minute drive from Bogotá. There, we will find seven types of forest inhabited by thousands of species of plants, over 200 species of birds and more than 20 species of mammals in oak forests, waterfalls, viewing points and more than 18 km of beautiful trails. On our tour we will make a stop to enjoy a delicious typical lunch at the park restaurant, and taste and sample our country s cuisine surrounded by a spectacular panoramic view.
SURROUNDINGS ZIPAQUIRÁ AND NEMOCÓN The visit to the largest salt mines in the country is an unforgettable experience and this interesting tour mixes religious symbolism, engineering and history. And what better way than to begin this journey through the Northern Highway to Nemocón? There we will be able to admire the largest white crystal salt rock ever found in the world which was found in this amazing salt mine. It is a charming and mystic place with its sparkling pools of brine always illuminated with colored filters. In the afternoon, we will continue our trip to Zipaquirá, once the land of the Zipa, who displayed his power from the top of Cerro del Águila (the Eagle s Hill) in the land of the Muiscas. Zipaquira is currently home to the Salt Cathedral, a majestic work carved into the salt rock and which has an interesting history and a mainly religious meaning. The Cathedral is also home to the world's largest cross, which always arouses the interest and amazement of visitors.
THE CAVALCADE LA CALERA On this journey towards the town of La Calera, we ll pass by a viewpoint, which is the perfect place to take pictures and find the most impressive panoramic view of the north of Bogota. Then along the way, we will have several options to taste typical local dishes, such as roasted corn on the cob, pastries, fried foods and corn cakes, among others. Also, for lovers of nature, landscapes and fun, we will have the option of taking a horseback guided tour (Cavalcade).
