Curriculum Vitae Demetra Sfendoni-Mentzou Department of Philosophy, AUTH Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Thessaloniki-Greece sfendoni@edlit.auth.gr www.dikam.auth.gr Demetra Sfendoni-Mentzou is Professor Εmerita of Philosophy of Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-Greece and President of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies (DI.K.A.M.), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). Education: She was educated at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from which she received her Ph.D. and, from October 1976 to June 1978, at the University of Oxford as a Recognized Student (supervisor Rom Harré, Sub-Faculty of Philosophy & Balliol College). Teaching: She has been teaching for a period of almost four decades, at the Department of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-Greece, both in the undergraduate and graduate program. She has also taught at York University, Toronto-Canada. Invited lectures at Universities abroad: She has lectured at the following Universities: University of Toronto and York University (Toronto, Canada), Ohio State University (U.S.A.), University of Miami (U.S.A.), Mount Holyoke College (MA., U.S.A.), Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), University of Pittsburgh (U.S.A.), Pomona College (California, U.S.A.), University of New Hampshire (U.S.A.), University of Connecticut (U.S.A.), University of Edinburgh (U.K.) and Kassel University (Germany).
