We suggest you have snacks on hand, as we will not be having a formal layover in the Barranquilla airport. TUESDAY, AUGUST 11 7:00 PM Unloading assistance requested at Elliott PERSONAL TIME CHECK-OUT POLICY Due to the need to keep track of where our students are at any point, we are utilizing a check-out policy. This will NOT restrict your ability to go out in the evenings, but will rather allow us to know where our travelers are. The faculty and staff are subject to this same policy. If you intend to leave the hotel in the evenings, you will need to sign out on a form provided at the hotel desk or lobby stating the following: Names of all people leaving in your group Method of transportation (and verify that the hotel assisted you with this) Destination (and verify that the hotel staff or one of our Colombian contacts suggested this destination) At breakfast the next morning, everyone who left the previous night will need to report in to John Williams to verify they have returned.

Again, we are not denying you the opportunity to go out on your own terms. This provides accountability for us, as well as confirmation that you have followed best practices at determining your destination. GOLDEN RULES OF TRAVELLING INTERNATIONALLY WITH THE PURDUE BAND & ORCHESTRA DEPARTMENT Hurry Up And Wait. There will be any number of times where we have to hurry up and get to a performance site, then have to wait to perform. This is true of every performance we do, and it will be no different here. Don t Be Stupid. Represent our group well and go with the flow on this (and EVERY) trip and performance, and you ll be fine. Do nothing to draw attention to yourself at the expense of others. Pack Lightly. You ll be on the road for six days, and two of them are nothing but travel. Do you REALLY need tons of stuff? You ll find trips like this to be much easier when you pack lightly. Don t forget your Passport. Your trip will end before it even has a chance to begin Have Fun! Make great memories and have a fantastic experience on this trip!
