After a construction time of 18 months its extension opened on March 20, 2013. The new part supplements on three floors the already existing Árkád by around 20,000 m leasable area and numerous new shops. Also the first part, which was opened in 2002, shines in new splendor: by September 2013, the shopping center has been modernized and won approx. 50 new attractive shops. With an overall leasable area of 68,000 m, both parts of the center together form the largest shopping location in Hungary. Accessibility / Catchment Area The Árkád is situated in the eastern city centre of the Hungarian capital in a densely populated area and and a very frequented traffic junction. The catchment area comprises approximately 1.3 million people, who can easily reach the center by car or with public transportation. Location / Public Transport Connection The Árkád is located in the K bánya district, borough X, in eastern Budapest at the busy junction Krepesi and Fehér út and has direct connection to a metro station. Furthermore, several bus stops, a streetcar station and a city train station are in direct vicinity of the center. 4
