The Pulses Conclave 2018 will start with a visit to the TAJ MAHAL, one of the Eight Wonders of the World, and AGRA FORT on February 14 th. IPGA has organized comfortable air-conditioned coaches for the visit and all REGISTERED DELEGATES are welcome to participate in this tour to the two amazing historic sites. The Taj Mahal, a white marble tomb built in 1631-48 in Agra by Mughal emperor Shah Jehan for his wife, Arjuman Banu Begum sums up many of the formal themes that have played through Islamic architecture. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was cited as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage." The Taj Mahal is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. The Taj is known as a legend of Shah Jehan s eternal love for his Queen and the romanticism and sheer majesty of the structure is unbelievably true! You will agree this is probably the best place to be along with your spouse on February 14 th, which is also celebrated as Valentine s Day. The Agra Fort, also known as the Lal Qila, Fort Rouge or Qila-i-Akbari, is the highlight of Agra city, the then capital of the Mughal Sultanate. The Agra fort was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The fort, a symbol of power, strength and resilience, can be more accurately described as a walled city and houses amazing structures like The Sheesh Mahal, The Diwan-i-Am, The Diwan-i-Khas, The Anguri Bagh, The Khas Mahal, to name a few. The coaches will leave from The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel at 7 am on February 14 th and return back by 5 pm. This will be followed by IPGA s Inaugural Networking Cocktail Dinner at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel from 8 pm onwards. 3 P a g e
