DAY 1: USA - FRANCE (Thursday) Fly through the night to Paris. DAY 2: PARIS (Friday) Upon arrival in Paris, your French Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport and will remain with you throughout your tour. Transfer by private motor coach to your hotel and drop off your bags. This afternoon, stroll down the most famous avenue of the capital, the Champs-Elysées. You will walk through Le Trocadéro and view la Ville Lumière from the third floor of the Eiffel Tower. Afterwards, board a glass-topped Bateau Mouche and enjoy a refreshing cruise on the Seine River. Have dinner at a local restaurant. Enjoy a night stroll of the illuminated Paris before returning to your hotel. DAY 3: PARIS (Saturday) This morning, discover the Musée du Louvre. Its famous collection of art and antiquities includes the Mona Lisa. Then, visit a local boulangerie. The tour offers a great and rare opportunity to step into the kitchen of a typical Parisian boulangerie and see how the famous French baguettes are made! After some free time for lunch, visit the gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame. Climb the Towers to experience the view as well as a glimpse of the famous gargoyles. Free time for lunch. Later in the day, head up to the highest point in Paris, Montmartre (known locally as La Butte). Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre s hilltop church and most famous landmark. Dine in Montmartre before returning to your hotel. DAY 4: PARIS (Sunday) Today, head to the Catacombs and enter this veritable labyrinth beneath the very heart of Paris. They were created in the galleries of the former quarries whose stone was used to build the capital. Situated twenty meters below ground, the ossuary contains the remains of millions of Parisians, transferred there gradually between the late eighteenth and mid-nineteenth centuries as graveyards were being close because of the risk they posed to public heath. This afternoon discover the Marais Quarter. The neighborhood, which takes its name from marshes on which it was originally built, has long been the home of Parisian aristocrats. Have some free time for shopping at the Halles! Have dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 5: VERSAILLES (Monday) This morning, visit the marché d Aligre, a fun and very lively market which is made up of two parts: the covered market marché Beauveau (dating back to 1777) and the open-air market on the Square
d Aligre. You will find shops and eateries on the surrounding streets. You can pick up what you need for a picnic in the Versailles gardens. Take the RER train and head to Versailles. Enjoy a guided tour of this ama zing castle. Among other treasures, you will have a chance to admire the opu lent Grand Apartments, the King s Chamber and the Hall of Mirrors. Later, return to Paris and follow your Tour Manager in the Latin Quater! See the Sorbonne University, the Panthéon and the Luxembourg gardens! Enjoy dinner in the area. Overnight in Paris. DAY 6: PARIS / LOIRE VALLEY (Tuesday) This morning, board your motor coach and drive to the Loire Valley. Discover the Château de Chenonceau, not only remarkable for its architectu re and history but also for the fine quality of its collections. Explore the many gardens and see the maze, rebuilt exactly from Catherine de Medici s plans. Continue on to the Royal Château de Blois, a true synthesis of the art and history of the Loire Valley. Enjoy a guided visit of the castle. Enjoy dinner in a troglodyte restaurant La Cave aux Fouées. Drive to the medieval town of Loches for overnight accommodation. DAY 7: LOIRE VALLEY / PARIS (Wednesday) This morning after breakfast, drive to Chambord. Enter the magnificent Chambord castle, known as the greatest château in Loire valley with its 426 rooms and 282 fireplaces! After some free time for lunch, drive back to Paris. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Paris. DAY 8: RETURN (Thursday) Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. A bientôt et bon voyage!
