Steve became an employee of Trappe in March 2004. Steve s woodworking skills and mechanical ability are often put to the test. We appreciate his dedication, and efforts to assist our community. Talbot County Office of Economic Development Hosts Monthly Meeting in Trappe The Talbot County Office of Economic Development is initiating a Last Monday Town Forum. We are inviting our Resource Partners to travel to each of the towns in Talbot County on the last Monday of the month to meet with area businesses, describe available services and lineup additional appointments if a business is interested in exploring these resources further. We are participating with Trappe merchants to support marketing and business development efforts. Any business is welcome to attend. The April meeting will be April 28 th at 9 am in the conference room at Talbot Bank in the Moore Building on Maple Avenue. Talbot Resource Partners will be present and is also available to set up follow up appointments for any business that is interested in additional assistance. Watch the due date-it varies each month. Town staff do not accept payments anywhere but the town office. Faxing and copying services are available at the town office during regular office hours for a small fee. Special Bulk Trash Collection Friday April 25 th To schedule a bulk trash pickup, please complete a Special Bulk Trash Pickup Request form and mail it along with the required payment to, Town of Trappe, Inc., PO Box 162, Trappe MD 21673-0162. Forms may also be picked up and dropped off at the Trappe Town Office at 4011 Powell Avenue. The required form is available at the Town Hall or by printing from the Town website (www.trappemd.net) under the Trash Collection & Recycling link on the main menu. All bulk materials to be picked up for disposal must be scheduled in advance. A bulk collection fee of $5.00 plus a per-tire surcharge for passenger car and light truck tires (payable in advance) will be collected for each residential bulk pickup, not to exceed 3 cubic yards (about a pickup truck load). Thursday is Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday and we have a service at 7:00 PM, The Good Friday service is at the Trappe United Methodist Church at 7:00 PM. It is a combined service with the churches in Trappe. Sunday, April 20 is Easter Sunday. Our service is at 9:00 AM with a Festival Eucharist and egg hunt. All are welcome to attend any one or all the services during Holy Week and Easter. St. Paul s Preschool would like to thank everyone for their support for our Second Annual Baked Ziti Dinner. It was a great success! Thanks to all who donated their time, money, food and kindness to our cause. The Talbot Bank, a member of Shore Bancshares community of companies, recently donated funds to support the American Cancer Society s Colors of Cancer event. The annual event to honor hometown heroes in the community has been scheduled for March 29, 2014 at the Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD. This year s hosts include Michele Williams and Dawn Cecil, Event Chairs; as well as Kim Brice and William Buck Duncan, Jr., Honorary Chairs. Project Clean Stream annual cleanup to be held Saturday, April 5th Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) is recruiting local groups, businesses and individuals to help clean up our Midshore waterways. On April 5 from 9am to Noon, Project Clean Stream will once again remove trash from our local waterways. Throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed, thousands of people will be participating in this annual event coordinated by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. 100 YEARS STRONG Throughout Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline and Queen Anne s County, there will be over fifteen Project Clean Stream sites this year. Groups already signed up include Pickering Creek Audubon Center, Girl Scouts, Country School, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Easton High School, Masonic Lodge, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Easton and Eastern Shore Land Conservancy. Last year approximately 300 volunteers, worked at 23 different locations to clean up streams in the Midshore region. They collected over 10,000 pounds of trash.
