About the World Youth Uchinanchu Festival Participants join from overseas. Once a year the youth of Okinawa and other countries gather together for this Celebration of Youth. It has been held in four different continents so far: South America North America Europe Asia (First year: South America, Brazil 2012 / Second year: North America, United States 2013 / Third year: Europe, Germany 2014 / Fourth year: Asia, Philippines 2015 / Fifth year: Okinawa 2016) 2

Program Details 1 Ceremony Opening Ceremony Welcome Party Date : Oct.20th(Thu) 17:00 Place: Nishihara TownSawasuji mirai hall The Opening Ceremony to celebrate the 5 th Annual World Youth Uchinanchu Festival OKINAWA 2016. The program will include the entrance of participating nations flags, opening speeches and performances. 7

Program Detail 2 Sports Division Uchinanpic 2016 Uchinanpic is the Okinawan version of the Olympics. Participants come from ten different countries and areas will join in the Uchinanpic to overcome their background differences (e.g. culture and nationality). It will be divided by World Division and Town Division. Program Details 4 World Division World Youth Thousand People Summit (Name Pending) Through subcommittee meetings of 10 different countries and areas, group discussions will be held to consider and develop the worldwide Okinawannetwork. 11

Program Details 41 Hometowns Welcome Party Home stay Date : Oct.21sh(Fri)18:00 20:00 Place: In many parts of Okinawa To celebrate the youth from different countries and regions, 41 hometowns will host the participants for 1 to 2 days. (* Joint home stays will be held in some regions) 12

Program Details 1 Ceremony Closing Ceremony Grand Finale Date : Oct.23rd(Sun)18:00 21:00 Place: KatsurenCastel in Uruma City The closing ceremony and grand finale will wrap up the four- day festival. This will include an awards ceremony for each division (see next page), an awards ceremony for the Local Strength Grandprix 2016, and performances.
