N A T I O N A L S U R V E Y I N G S T E P 1 NATIONAL SURVEYING SURVEYING AKW s unique National Surveying Team provides for quick and efficient surveys to be undertaken for both kitchen and showering areas. AKW s highly trained and eperienced surveying team ensure that the best possible solution is found for the client s current and long term kitchen or showering needs. AKW surveys consist of three simple stages: Stage 1: An eperienced AKW surveyor will visit the client s home and take all necessary measurements Stage 2: The surveyor will discuss the client s requirements and also provide technical advice if needed Stage 3: A computer aided drawing of the proposed shower (CAD or Virtual World) or kitchen (PlanIT) will be produced NEW! Introducing 3D Virtual World Drawings STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR SHOWER TRAY When choosing your AKW shower tray or enclosure there are many things to consider, please use this page and the specifiers guide to aid your choice. For more information see the tray section on pages 10-123. Floor type: All AKW shower trays are designed to be installed into different floors eg: wooden floors (Joists & floorboards), solid concrete floors (which could be unbreachable) or a screeded floor. Tray type: Is your shower tray to be installed in a corner or an alcove, or does the tray need to be cut down to fit in the specified area? Many of our trays are bath replacements and are therefore handed to the waste end. left hand tray waste to the left Drainage: Most AKW trays will accommodate Gravity or Pumped wastes, some already have them built-in. If your shower enclosure requires the waste water to be pumped away there is a wide selection of drainage pumps to choose from (see the waste systems section from pages 168-175). S T E P 2 STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR SHOWER SCREEN To complete your choice, the net step is to specify a suitable shower screen. Entry path requirements should be considered, particularly the opening path door (see diagrams below), to ensure access to bathroom fittings such as wash basin or toilet. Shower screens are handed in the same manner as the trays, according to waste end. Compatible screens refer to standard or sliding. For more information see the screen section on pages 122-167.
