Traffic Order on the occasion of the World Economic Forum 2018 in Davos within the Municipality 1. Current Conditions Pursuant to Art. 3, para. 6, Swiss Road Traffic Act (SVG; SR 741.01), time limited measures are necessary both in advance of and following the World Economic Forum 2018 (WEF). The measures include various measures for standing and moving traffic as well as general traffic flow, decreed by the executive municipal council as follows: 2. Temporary Traffic Order The following traffic orders apply to increase safety for the entire road system within Davos: 2.1. Measures: Promenade 2.1.1. As of Monday, January 8, 2018 drivers must be prepared for delays and short closures along the entire Promenade. Recommend following the detour signs. 2.1.2. Closure of partial route at the Scaletta street intersection to the English Church: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 3:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Promenade will be closed from the turn off Promenade / Scallettastasse to the English Church and traffic will be diverted via the Scalettastrasse. Approved travel is excluded from these measures (VBD up to Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 10:00 pm and as of Saturday, January 27, at 5:30 am). Approved travel is permitted between the Scalettastrasse intersection and the Hertistrasse. 2.1.3. Closure of the section of road at the Montana crossing to Hotel Parsenn: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 5:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Promenade in the area of Hotel
Seehof, between the Montana intersection and the Hotel Parsenn will be closed for security reasons. Approved travel is excluded from this measure. Traffic will be routed to the Talstrasse, which is in two-way traffic. 2.1.4. On-coming traffic on the Promenade; Hotel Parsenn/Café Weber up to Scaletta street: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 3:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Promenade will be opened to ongoing traffic at the section of road from the corner Hotel Parsenn / Café Weber up to the intersection at Scaletta street. 2.1.5. On-coming traffic on the Promenade; cut off Kurgarten Street to the intersection ramp Hotel Steigenberger Belvédère or the entrance to the waiting area at the Kirchner museum: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 3:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, on-coming approved traffic is permitted between the entrance to the reception area for the Kirchner Museum and the cut off at Kurgarten street. 2.1.6. Change of location for the Parsenn bus stop: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 8:00 am through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Parsenn bus stop will not be in service and be moved instead across from Café Weber. 2.1.7. Change of location for the bus stop at Horlauben: Starting Monday, January 15, 2018 / 2:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the bus stop at Horlauben will not be in service and instead be temporarily moved to between the Alteinstrasse and the Reginaweg. 2.1.8. Change of location for bus stop Congress Center/Swimming bad toward Dorf: Starting on Monday, January 15, 2018 / 7:00 am, through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the bus stop Congress Center/Swimming pool towards Dorf will not be in service and moved opposite the Kirchner Museum.
2.1.9. Change of location for bus stop Congress Center/Swimming pool toward Platz: Starting on Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 2:00 pm, through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the bus stop Congress Center/Swimming pool towards Platz at the English Church will not be in service and moved opposite the Kirchner Museum. 2.1.10. Parking lot Scaletta: January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the parking lot at Scaletta, next to the entrance to Hotel Amercon is closed to the public and made available as required to the police and WEF. 2.1.11. Parking Symond: January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the parking lot at Symond is closed to the public and made available as required to the police and WEF. 2.1.12. Parking lot at Horlauben: Starting Monday, January 8, 2018 / 7:00 am through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the parking lot at Horlauben is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF as well as the bus turning point. 2.1.13. Parking lot at the Library: Starting Friday, January 19, 2018 / 6:00 pm through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the parking lot at the Library (Schweizerhaus) is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF. 2.1.14. Park at the Kirchner Museum: Starting Wednesday, January 17, 2018 / 7:00 am through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Park at the Kirchner Museum is closed to the public and made available as a waiting area for authorized vehicles. Vehicle parking is prohibited. Police vehicles are exempted from this parking prohibition.
2.1.15. Closure of the sidewalk along the Promenade: January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Promenade is blocked to pedestrian traffic between the Kongress Hotel and the intersection at Scaletta Street at the English Church. WEF accredited persons are excluded from this measure. 2.2. Measures: Talstrasse 2.2.1. Two-way traffic along the Talstrasse: Starting Monday, January 8, 2018 / 2:00 pm through Friday, February 2, 2018 / 12:00 pm, the Talstrasse will be open to two-way traffic between the Davos Platz train station and the Montana intersection. 2.2.2. Closure of Congress Center parking lot: Starting Sunday, January 14, 2018 / 7:00 am through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Congress Center parking lot is closed for security reasons and made available as required for the police and WEF. 2.2.3. Closure of Metz parking lot Starting on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 / 7:00 AM through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 PM, the entire Metz parking lot is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF. Part of the parking lot will be open during the HCD home games on Sunday, January 7, 2018, Saturday, January 13, 2018, Friday, January 19, 2018 and Sunday, January 28, 2018. 2.2.4. No turn at intersection Talstrasse/Hertistrasse: No left turns permitted as of Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 2:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm on the Talstrasse in the direction of Hertistrasse (Congress side). Only right turns permitted from Herti street (Kongress side) into the Tal street. 2.2.5. Change of location for Hertistrasse bus stop: Between Tuesday, January 16, 2018 / 8:00 am and Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Hertistrasse bus stop is closed and moved past the Hertistrasse intersection as viewed facing Davos Dorf.
2.2.6. Provisional traffic recommendation: You should anticipate traffic jams along the Talstrasse between the cut off Albana and the Hertistrasse in the direction of Davos Dorf. For this reason, we recommend using the marked detour via the Matta and Dischmastrasse when driving from Davos Platz to Davos Dorf. 2.3. Measures: Hertistrasse Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 6:00 pm through Friday, January 26, 2018 / 8:00 pm, the Hertistrasse will be closed between the Promenade and Talstrasse. WEF accredited persons as well as residents are excluded from this measure. 2.4. Measures: Richtstattweg January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Richtstattweg will be closed between the Promenade and Scalettastrasse. Residences and police vehicles are exempted from this measure. 2.5. Measures for Panorama parking lot at the ice stadium Starting Wednesday, January 3, 2018 / 7:00 AM through Thursday, February 1, 2018 / 6:00 PM, the entire Panorama parking lot is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF. Part of the parking lot will be open during the HCD home games on Sunday, January 7, 2018, Saturday, January 13, 2018, Friday, January 19, 2018 and Sunday, January 28, 2018. 2.6. Measures for Sport Center parking lot (Time-Out) Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 6:00 am and Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the sport center parking lot is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF as well as for a bus turning point. Access remains open to visitors to the sport center.
2.7. Measures for pedestrian paths in the Kurpark Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 7:00 am through Monday, January 29, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the pedestrian paths in the Kurpark (Carl- Dorno path and Jules-Federmann path), between the Congress Center and the Ice stadium, as well as the access to the swimming pool are closed for security reasons. 2.8. Measures: Reginaweg / Alteinstrasse Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 2:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, access to Reginaweg and Alteinstrasse is only possible via the Talstrasse. Access from and to the Promenade is blocked. 2.9. Measures: Symondstrasse Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 2:00 pm through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Symondstrasse will be closed between the Promenade and Richtstattweg. 2.10. Measures: Obere Strasse January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Obere Strasse will be closed in the area around the Hotel Steigenberger Belvédère. Starting Wednesday, January 3, 2018 / 7:00 AM through Thursday, February 2, 2018 / 5:00 pm, through traffic in the area around the Hotel Steigenberger Belvédère will be more difficult due to construction activities. 2.11. Measures: Dorfstrasse Starting Sunday, January 14, 2018 / 7:00 am through Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 5:00 pm, through traffic in the area around the Hotel Seehof / Evangelical Church will be more difficult due to construction activities. The Salzgäba street behind the Seehof is closed to pedestrian traffic.
Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 5:00 pm through Saturday January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the Dorfstrasse is closed for security reasons between the entrance to the SPAR parking lot and the Hotel Seedorf. 2.12. Measures: Mühlestrasse Starting Sunday, January 21, 2018 / 8:00 am through Friday, January 26, 2018 / 6:00 pm, the entrance to the Mühlestrasse is closed as viewed from the Bahnhofstrasse and continued with one-way traffic in the direction of the Bahnhofstrasse. Truck traffic can continue in both directions. The Bünda quarter is accessed via the Museumstrasse. 2.13. Measures: Flüelastrasse Starting Saturday, January 20, 2018 / 8:00 am through Saturday, January 27, 2018 / 6:00 pm, traffic jams as well as temporary blockages may be encountered on the Flüelastrasse between the intersection Bahnhofstrasse and access road Fährich (forming Camping). Between the access road Stilli and the Sagenstutz, portions of the road are used as a waiting area and traffic may be detoured with traffic signs. 2.14. Measures: Lake parking lot / Lake promenade Starting on Monday, January 1, 2018 / 7:00 AM through Wednesday, January 31, 2018 / 6:00 PM, the entire lake parking lot is closed to the public and available as required to the police and WEF. A temporary public parking lot will be set up along the Flüelastrasse Höhe at Stilli as a replacement. The lake promenade can be reached from there on foot over the Stillistrasse. The lake promenade is closed between the lake parking lot and the Strandbad as of Thursday, January 18, 2018 / 7:00 am through Wednesday, January 31, 2018 / 6:00 pm for all traffic as well as for pedestrians. Signs mark the detour of the path around the lake.
2.15. Special order for public transportation Between January 22 and January 26, 2018, buses will be operating under a special WEF schedule (changed VBD lines and times). Additional information will be published in January in the Davoser Zeitung, on vbd.ch, the SBB online schedule, and direct in the buses. Public transportation may be suspended in part or in whole due to any traffic disruptions or a demonstation. 3. Limited parking 3.1. Parking opportunities may be limited in the following zone: Along the Promenade Along the Talstrasse In the rectangle Bahnhofstrasse Dorf Alte Flüelastrasse Dorfstrasse Bahnhofstrasse Dorf The limited parking opportunities will be marked with no parking signs or no stopping signs accordingly. 3.2. It is prohibited to halt or park autos, trailers, etc. on public property within the marked sections. Deployed vehicles from the security institutions as well as vehicles entitled and marked with associated stickers are exempted. 3.3. Vehicles and trailers parked on private property must be identifiable at all times from the entitled property owner and assigned to an individual. Residents and entitled, interested parties may apply for the corresponding sticker for their vehicles. 3.4. Vehicles parked illegally or blocking traffic as well as vehicles not identifiable will be removed at the owners expense. 3.5. Towed vehicles may be reclaimed by the proper owner after compensating costs (transportation and parking costs) at the Davos Office of Public Safety (Ordnungsamt Davos).
General Instructions In advance and during this year s Annual Meeting 2018 (World Economic Forum), in particular in the event of traffic disturbances or demonstrations, everyone should expect traffic disturbances and altered routes as well as short-term closures throughout the entire road system within the entire Davos local authority district. 4. Validity The temporary traffic orders and restrictions are valid pursuant to Art. 107, para. 2, Signal Ordinance (SSV), for the period between Monday, January 1, 2018 / 7:00 am and Thursday, February 2, 2018 / 6:00 pm, unless superseded by other periods of validity within the aforementioned provisions, or signs, etc., are added or removed.
