DAY 1: USA / BELGIUM (Friday) Fly through the night to Brussels, capital of Belgium. DAY 2: BRUSSELS (Saturday) Welcome to Brussels!! Meet your Forum Tour Manager at the airport. Transfer by private motor coach to your hotel and drop your bags. Free time for lunch. Then, visit the Choco-Story Museum, where you will learn the history of cocoa and chocolate, watch a demonstration by the master chocolate-maker, and of course sample lots of chocolate! Later, take a guided walking tour of the city centre. See Europe s most beautiful square: The Grand Place, with its Gothic Town Hall and walk about the charming cobblestone streets. Dinner with your group at a local restaurant and night accommodation in Brussels. DAY 3: BRUSSELS / BRUGES (Sunday) After breakfast, see the heart of the European Parliament, learn about the path towards European integration, how the European Parliament works and what its members are doing to meet the challenges of today with a visit to The Parlamentarium! After some free time for lunch, continue to Bruges - one of the best preserved medieval cities in the world. Meet your local guide and enjoy a guided walking tour of the city. See Our Lady's Church with the Madonna statue by Michelangelo, the Town Hall square with the Chapel of the Holy Blood and the Market Square with the Belfry. Climb the 366 steps to the top of the Belfry and enjoy the breath-taking views! After, enjoy Bruges by boat! Sometimes called the Venice of the North, you won t want to miss a boat-trip on its famous canals. Return to Brussels for dinner and overnight accommodation. DAY 4: BRUSSELS / HONFLEUR / BAYEUX (Monday) After breakfast, board your bus to the Normandy region. Make a stop in Honfleur for lunch and a bit of free time to look around the city. Then, continue to Bayeux and visit the Tapisserie de Bayeux, one of the greatest medieval artworks. It depicts the story of Harold, William the Conqueror, and the Norman conquest of England in 1066. Dinner with your group in a local restaurant. Night accommodation in Bayeux. DAY 5: BAYEUX / POINTE DU HOC / ST. MALO (Tuesday) Board your bus and continue to Coleville-sur-mer. During a private service, pay tribute to the 9,386 fallen Americans at the World War II Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and lay a wreath of flowers to honour their memory on behalf of your school.
See the Pointe du Hoc Ranger Memorial, commemorating the heroic raid of the American Second Ranger Battalion and the forces involved in the Normandy landings. After free time for lunch, continue to Saint-Malo, a town famed for its seafood specialities. After check-in at your hotel, take a stroll around St. Malo. Dinner and night accommodation in St. Malo. DAY 6: ST. MALO / MONT SAINT MICHEL / LISSES (Wednesday) Today, drive to the 1000 year-old Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel. This masterpiece of architecture rises from the rock and is surrounded by the sea and sand. This afternoon, board your bus to Lisses/Bondoufle and meet your host family. Dinner and night accommodation with your host family. DAY 7: LISSES / PARIS / LISSES (Thursday) After breakfast with your hosts, take the RER to Paris. Visit the Musee d'orsay step into 19th century Paris, literally. This art museum was once a cavernous railway station. Admire the view from the third floor of the Tour Eiffel. Board a glass-topped bateau mouche. Enjoy a refreshing cruise on the Seine. Return to Lisses/Bondoufle for overnight accommodation with your host family. DAY 8: LISSES / PARIS / LISSES (Friday) After breakfast with your hosts, take the RER to Paris. Head for a stroll down the most famous avenue of the capital: the Champs- Elysées, and see the Arc de Triomphe. Discover Musée du Louvre and some of its wonderful masterpieces. Head up to the highest point in Paris: Montmartre (known locally as La Butte). Climb the steps to reach the Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre s hilltop church and most famous landmark. Return to Lisses for dinner and overnight accommodation with your host family. DAY 9: LISSES / PARIS / LISSES (Saturday) After breakfast take the RER train to Paris. On arrival, explore the Marais Quarter with your Forum Tour Manager. Continue with a stroll on Île Saint-Louis. Then, visit the Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame, a magnificent religious edifice and one of the supreme masterpieces of French art. Climb the 387 steps to see the gargoyles! At a short distance, enter the Sainte-Chapelle, another Gothic masterpiece. From there, head to the always lively Quatier Latin! Return to Lisses for dinner and overnight accommodation with your host family. DAY 10: PARIS / USA (Sunday) After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
LISSES EN FAMILLE Located 35 km south of Paris, the family network is made up of families living in Lisses and in surrounding towns (Bondoufle, Evry among others). The home of the family network consists of typical French towns that belong to the same community or communauté d agglomération. Paris is easily accessible by RER train, on the D Line, from Evry-Courcouronnes station to Châtelet-Les Halles (40 min. total). Students will stay 2 per family and contact information of the family will be sent approximately 2 to 4 weeks prior to departure. Host families are usually located 5-15 minutes from the station (by bus). The Family network has been in place for over twenty years and Forum has sent numerous groups over the last 10 years.
