INFORMATION NOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS FOR PARTICIPANTS ONLY General WTO/ESCAP Regional Workshop on Trade in Services for Asian Economies will be held at the Yuyang Hotel, Beijing, China. The opening session will be at 09:00 hrs on 25 June 2014. Participants who do not register on the opening day are requested to do so on subsequent day, to ensure that their names appear in the list of participants. Without registration, names of participants will not be included in the list. Working language of the workshop and documents The workshop will be conducted in English, and all documentation will be issued only in English. No interpretation service will be available. Visa requirements Participants should obtain an entry visa to China, if necessary, from the Embassy or Consulate of China located in their respective countries before departing for Beijing. Participants are also advised to obtain, where necessary, a transit visa for places en route to Beijing before the commencement of their journey. Holders of diplomatic and service/official passports issued from the following countries are allowed to enter and remain in China for up to 30 days. The WTO/ESCAP-financed participants are requested to submit their flight details when available to Ms. Panjai Limchupong at her contact details as provided above. Rooms will be reserved by ESCAP and there is no need to reserve rooms individually. The room charges will be paid by ESCAP and WTO. At the time of check-out, the participants are requested to settle bills on their own personal expenses such as mini bar, laundry service, use of telephone, business center, etc., Self-financed participants Special room rates at the Yuyang Hotel have been agreed for self-finance participant of this Workshop as per table below.

Self-financed participants will be individually responsible for settling their own bills for room charges and personal expenses such as the use of telephone, internet cards, business center, etc. Transportation All participants are advised to arrange their transport at their own expenses from and to the airport, Airport pick-up The Yuyang Hotel provides airport pick-up services. Please see below table for details on the service charges. Participants who wish to use this service are kindly asked to submit the booking form on page 6 or indicate in the hotel reservation form on page 5. The distance from airport to the hotel is approximately 22 kilometers, a single trip to the hotel by taxi will cost around CNY 100. Please note that taxi driver normally only accept Chinese currency therefore you are advised to exchange adequate Chinese currency before you take taxi (please refer to Foreign exchange section). Airport bus There are six airport bus routes between Beijing Capital International Airport and downtown Beijing, and one bus route between Nanyuan Airport and Xidan. The fare for each of the seven airport bus routes is CNY 16. The tickets can be bought at the stops. 4 Departure Interval: every 15 minutes Foreign exchange Participants can exchange convertible currency to Chinese Yuan at the airport or the hotel. The average exchange rate is USD 1 = 6 CNY (approx.). Currency of the Chinese Yuan are in 1 Jiao, 5 Jiao, 1 Yuan, 5 Yuan, 10 Yuan, 20 Yuan, 50 Yuan, and 100 Yuan, whereas 1Yuan = 10 Jiao = 100 Fen. Financial and administrative arrangements In those cases where the participation costs are borne by the ESCAP/WTO secretariats, their financial responsibilities will be limited to meeting travel expenses as indicated below. Any other expenses will be the sole responsibilities of the participants themselves, for example: (i) (ii) All expenses in the home country incidental to travel abroad, including expenditure for visa, medical examination, inoculations and other such miscellaneous items and internal travel to and from the airport of arrival and departure in the home country; Salary and related allowances for the participants during the period of the workshop; (iii) Cost incurred by participants in respect of insurance, accident insurance, medical bills or hospitalization fees in connection with attending the workshop; (iv) (v) (vi) Compensation in the event of death or disability of participants in connection with attending the workshop; Any loss of or damage to personal property of participants while attending the workshop or losses or damages claimed by third parties as a result of any negligence on the part of the participants; Any other expenses of a personal nature, not directly related to the purpose of the workshop. For participants whose travel is sponsored by ESCAP and WTO, UNDP offices in their respective countries will be authorized to issue them most economy round-trip air ticket (home country/jakarta/home country) to arrive Beijing on 24 June and to depart Beijing on 28 June. The participants will be provided with a daily subsistence allowance in Chinese currency for the duration of event which includes miscellaneous, visa fee, and terminal expenses in accordance with UN rules and regulations. DSA in connection with transit expenses for places en route to and from Beijing (according to the authorized route) will be reimbursed upon participants submission of their completed UN voucher for international travel expenses (F.10 form) to the ESCAP secretariat after the return to their respective countries. The duly completed F.10 forms must be sent along with the used air ticket stubs, boarding passes and the completed payment instruction forms which will be provided, on request, at the workshop. To facilitate the payment of subsistence allowance, eligible participants are requested to submit their air tickets, passports and copy of first page, copy of e-ticket (s) and inbound boarding passes to the ESCAP secretariat staff on duty in the meeting room before the opening of the event. Sponsored participants are expected to stay for the full duration of the event. However, if for any sudden reason, they are unable to stay for the full duration of the workshop, they are requested to inform the secretariat as soon as possible so that their daily subsistence allowance can be adjusted accordingly...
