Day 8 Jodhpur Ranakpur Udaipur Drive to Udaipur, enroute stop and visit Ranakpur Temple. Overnight at your hotel. Day 9 Udaipur This morning visit the City Palace, and explore the Jagdish Temple, with beautiful lawns, gardens and fountains. Later drive around the Fatehsagar Lake. Evening proceed for Boat Cruise on Pichola Lake, the lake is surrounded by splendid hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. Visit the island palace Jag Niwaswhich which beautifully sets in the lake. Overnight at your hotel. Day 10 Udaipur Pushkar Drive by surface to Pushkar, which is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage town. Visit various temples and ghats and the holy Pushkar Lake. There are more than 400 hundred temples in Pushkar but the main attraction being the temple of Lord Brahma, the only temple in India dedicated to Brahma. Overnight at your hotel. Day 12 Jaipur This morning experience elephant ride and explore the Amber fort, which was used to be the capital till it was moved to Jaipur. This afternoon tour the City Palace, the former royal residence built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal styles; Jantar Mantar, which is the largest of the five Observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh, and the Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds which was constructed for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen. Overnight at your hotel. Day 13 Jaipur Fatehpur Sikri Agra Leave for Agra, en route visit Fatehpur Sikri, a magnificent fortified ancient city. This afternoon tour the world famous Taj Mahal, a monument of love, which was built by the Mughal Emperor in 1560 for his queen Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Also visit Agra Fort, a rusty and majestic red sandstone standing on the bank of river Yamuna. Overnight at your hotel. Day 14 Agra Gwalior Take a train journey to Gwalior and visit the majestic Gwalior fort, which is one of the largest and mightiest forts in India. Also visit Sas-Bahu Temples and Teli-ka- Mandir. Overnight stay at hotel in Gwalior. Day 15 Gwalior Jhansi Orchha Khajuraho Board the local train to Jhansi - the gateway to Orchha towns. Orchha was the capital of the Bundela rajas from the 16th century to 1783. Visit Orchha Fort and the Jehangir Mahal. Also visit Ram Raja Temple and the Chaturbhuj Temple. Later Leave for Khajuraho, and visit Western and Eastern Group of temples, a UNESCO world heritage site. Overnight at your hotel. Day 16 Khajuraho Varanasi Today fly to Varanasi, a very holy city in Hinduism and it is the oldest living city in the world. Meet out representative on arrive and check into your hotel. Later in evening enjoy Aarti on river Ganges. Overnight at your hotel. Day 17 Varanasi Early morning take the boat ride on the tranquil river Ganges or walk along the holy Ghats that will give you a lifetime experience. Return to hotel for breakfast. Then take an excursion tour to one of the important pilgrims of Buddhist followers - Sarnath. This is the site where Gautama Buddha is said to have given his first sermon about the basic principles of Buddhism. Day 18 Varanasi Mumbai Enjoy some free time until we fly to Mumbai, on reaching Mumbai. Rest of the day isfree to relax at your hotel. Day 19 Mumbai Pass the Gateway of India for a cruise across Mumbai Harbour to Elephanta Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its rock-cut Hindu temples. In the afternoon, join a heritage walk around the districts of Fort and Colaba, whose grand municipal buildings date from the heyday of the British Empire, or sample quintessential Bombay snacks such as bhel puri and pao bhaji on our popular street food tour. Day 20 Mumbai Cochin Take an early morning flight to Cochin. This evening enjoy a sunset cruise on Cochin's water ways for views of the Marine Drive and Bolghatty Island as well as the landmark Chinese fishing nets. The orange and pink hues at twilight provide a spectacular photo opportunity. Stay in Cochin for the next two nights. Day 21 Cochin We spend this morning taking in the sights of Fort Cochin, having been under the control of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British, Fort Cochin has a rich history. We will explore the colonial streets and take in the Dutch Palace with its murals of the Ramayana, the Jewish Synagogue and the church of St Francis, the oldest church in India. This evening attend a Kathakali performance, the traditional dance drama. Day 22 Cochin Alleppey After breakfast leave for Alleppey, take a boat cruise along the palm-fringed backwaters of Vembanad Lake. Stay overnight onboard your private houseboat.
