From this magnificent point you can enjoy the view of the whole city spreading out, with its network of Roman roads, tall towers and bell towers, and magnificent city corners.

A fascinating journey through various ages, architectural styles, stories and legends, from Roman remains until the early decades of '900s. The first minutes of our tour will be spent admiring Piazza Brà, the most important square in Verona. Then look towards the Arena, the amphitheatre built in the first century after Christ, just a few years before the roman Colosseum. You will walk to Porta Borsari, one of the roman entrances to the city and then reach Piazza delle Erbe, our market square filled with color, sound and inviting smells. The tour through the old part of town continues so we will move on to Piazza dei Signori, and to the tombs of the Della Scala family. Narrow alleys will bring you to the roman Stone Bridge, and to the roman Theatre. In fair Verona (Shakespeare s words) you will see the houses of both Romeo and Juliet. Did the famous love story take place? It is known throughout the world and the boundary between reality and imagination is slim so you will have to decide what to believe once you find yourself in the famed courtyard. Our tour includes a new amazing itinerary; like many Italian towns of ancient origin, Verona too is made of different layers, each bearing the signs and remains of the civilizations of the past. IN VALPOLICELLA Activity date: Tuesday, September 12 Activity time: 06:30 pm 11:30 pm Meeting time: 06:30 pm in the Lobby of Hotel Leon d Oro Participants: Min. 20 Max 50 Euro 105,00 per person (the price includes: bus, visit, tastings, dinner) The tour begins with a visit of Masi Cellars, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, on the hills between Lake Garda and Verona. The visit continues in the Serego Alighieri Estate, which belongs to direct descendants of Dante the Poet, who have lived in Valpolicella since 1353. The program includes a walk through the gardens and vines of the estate and a stop at the small Serego Alighieri cellar which is full of the aromas of cherry barrels, used according to family tradition, and afterwards, to the drying room to see the drying (appassimento) of the grapes. The experience finishes with the tasting dinner in the Court Hall; a selection of fine wines will be paired with traditional food and local specialties. In the sales area, it is possible to taste and buy the whole range of Masi and Serego Alighieri wines, along with wines from a number of great Amarone vintages.
VISIT TO THE ARENA AMPHITHEATRE & SAN FERMO CHURCH Activity date: Wednesday, September 13 Activity time: 9:30 am 11:30 am Meeting time: please refer to the Registration Desk Participants: Min. 15 Max 30 Euro 25,00 per person (the price includes: guide and entrance tickets) The tour will start in front of Arena, masterwork of roman engineering and symbol of the city. Its history spans 2000 years: from Roman times, when the gladiators fought for their lives, to the present use of the amphitheatre as an open air theatre for opera performances. A visit inside the Arena is a must! The past will envelop you you will imagine being a roman citizen rooting for your favorite gladiator or bowing at the entrance of the emperor. You will discover other corners, mostly unknown to most visitors, such as Porta Iovia and Porta dei Leoni or the remains of the city walls of Emperor Gallieno. San Fermo Church is one of the most beautiful temples in Verona. The first traces of this church go back to the VIII century. The Benedictine restructuring that took place in the XI century was particularly important. It apparently started in 1070: the Benedictines built the upper and lower church and began construction of the bell tower, which was finished much later, towards the beginning of the XIII century.

Its magic atmospheres were already described in Catullus' poems in first century before Christ. During the boat tour we will reach Punta San Vigilio and we will show you many places of interest: Catullus Grotto, Scala Castle, the house of Maria Callas. Our boat tour will end in Garda town, situated on a magnificent bay surrounded by lush green hills. There we will have lunch. Then you can explore the narrow medioeval streets, lined with craft shops, enotecas and eateries selling local products.
