Here are some guidelines for proper use Do use your Donnmar s to Cut monofilament line up to 400 lb. test Cut braided line up to 200 lb. test Cut wire up to 250 lb. test Grip lines, leaders or fish Remove hooks from fish Don t use your Donnmars to Hammer or pound anything Cut line or metal over the rated test Cut or snip any material other than fishing lines/leaders Pry or force anything (like a crowbar) Do not twist the pliers while cutting wire Caring for your Donnmars Rinse with fresh water after use Clean jaws with a mild abrasive (applied to soft toothbrush) Wipe grips with wet, soapy cloth, rinse and air dry Touch a drop of Super Lube (or similar) to the pivot joint. Stiff Action Is Natural In New Donnmar 950 Pliers Donnmar 950 pliers are a precision instrument with cutting blades hand fitted to tolerances of onethousandth of an inch. The blades on the 950 cut with a scissors action where the cutting edges actually cross. This assures a clean, thorough cut every time. Initially, the action of the pliers may seem somewhat stiff when cutting mono, wire or super lines. Like a pair of good shoes, the pliers will break-in with use. We do not, therefore, recommend blade adjustment. However, if you prefer a more relaxed plier feel, you may adjust the blade. To do so, remove the blade screw carefully so as not to lose the screw. Dab the tip of the screw with removable Loctite Threadlocker, replace the screw, but do not tighten completely. Adjust the blade to achieve the desired cutting feel, then tighten the screw.
