Warnng Indcates a hazardous stuaton that could lead to njures or materal damage. Attenton Draws attenton to possble dangers, materal damage or loss of qualty. Notce Gves you tps. They make a workng sequence easer or draw attenton to mportant workng processes. Envronment Gves you tps on protectng the envronment. Handlng nstructon Reference to secton, poston, llustraton number or document. Opton (accessores, perpheral equpment, specal fttngs). 1.2 Intended Use The devce s manufactured n accordance wth the current technologcal status and the recognzed safety rules. However, danger to the lfe and lmb of the user or thrd partes and/or damage to the devce and other tangble assets can arse durng use. The devce may only be used for ts ntended purpose and f t s n perfect workng order, and t must be used wth regard to safety and dangers as stated n the operatng manual. The devce s ntended exclusvely for separatng pre-scored PCB's. Any other use or use gong beyond ths shall be regarded as mproper use. The manufacturer/suppler shall not be lable for damage resultng from unauthorzed use; the user shall bear the rsk alone. Usage for the ntended purpose also ncludes complyng wth the operatng manual, ncludng the manufacturer s mantenance recommendatons and specfcatons. Notce The complete documentaton can also currently be found n the Internet. 1.3 Safety Instructons Hazard by electrcal charge. Provde an earthng connecton va press stud. Rsk of hand njury. Wear protectve gloves whle PCB separatng. Ensure that people s clothng, har, jewelry etc. do not come nto contact wth the exposed rotatng blade. Work gong beyond ths may only be performed by traned personnel or servce techncans. Unauthorzed work on or modfcatons to the devce can endanger operatonal safety. Always have servce work done n a qualfed workshop, where the personnel have the techncal knowledge and tools requred to do the necessary work. There are varous warnng stckers on the devce. Table 1 Safety markng 1.5 Envronment Obsolete devces contan valuable recyclable materals that should be sent for recyclng. Send to sutable collecton ponts, separately from resdual waste. The modular constructon of the prnter enables t to be easly dsassembled nto ts component parts. Send the parts for recyclng.

6 2 Specfcaton 6 For the commercally vable assembly and mountng of prnted crcut boards, there s an ever ncreasng requrement for multple-use materal. The necessty however, to break off sectons of the crcut board by hand can cause damage to the delcate crcutry and components. The fbre-glass materal tears at the broken edge, leavng t rough and fssured. Usng the MAESTRO 3E, both large and small pre-scored PCB s can be cleanly and economcally separated. The crcular blade s then drawn across the PCB thereby separatng t nto ndvdual peces. The scored grooves can be nterrupted by any number of cut-outs. Wear resstant blades and a gude assembly manufactured from specal steel ensure maxmum perods between readjustments. 27 21.5 E 190 0..40 41 10 10 34 1..23 F D 50 320 365 3..30 C A C A B B 30 30 Fg. 2 Devce and PCB dmensons MAESTRO 3E/450 MAESTRO 3E/600 Length D n mm 700 850 Heght E n mm 455 Separaton Length F n mm 450 600 Weght n kg 22 27 Separatng Prncple Components sde crcular blade, Solderng sde lneal blade PCB Thckness A n mm 0,8-3,2 Materal Thckness B after pre-scorng n mm A/3, mn. 0,25, max. 0,8 Slot Depth C n mm > 0,25 Increase of External Dmensons followng 0,1-0,2 Separaton n mm Earthng Press Stud ø 10 mm Operatng Temperature 10-35 C Storage and Transport Temperature -20 - +50 C Humdty 10-85%, non-condensng Table 2 Techncal Data

Set up the devce only n dry locatons protected from splash water. 3.2 Earthng Connecton 1 Fg. 3 Earthng Connecton Attenton Hazard by electrcal charge Provde an earthng connecton va press stud (1). 3.3 Releasng the Upper Blade Lock 1 2 3 Fg. 4 Releasng the Upper Blade Lock To avod possble damage durng transportaton, the blade carrer (3) s f xed by a screw (2 / ncl. washer) on the frame (1). Loosen the screw (2) before operaton. Warnng Rsk of njury When movng the machne, or when t s to be dspatched elsewhere the screw (2) has to be tghten.

8 3 Installaton 8 3.4 Heght Adjustment of the Upper Blade Notce To avod possble damage on the blades durng transport the upper blade (5) s fxed n the "Park Poston" so that there s a maxmum dstance to the lower blade. Set the upper blade nto the workng poston before startng operaton. 1 2 3 4 7 4 5 6 Fg. 5 Heght adjustment of the upper blade 1. Move the blade carrer (1) to the approxmate mddle poston over the lower blade (6). There s a scale (2) on the upper blade carrer where you can see the heght adjustment n steps of 1/10 mm. When you receve the machne, the ponter (3) of the scale s n poston "16". 2. Hold the knob (4) and loosen the knurled knob (7). 4. Rotate the knob (4) clockwse untl stop. Through that the upper blade (5) move down to the lower blade (6) untl both blades are just touchng one another (lower end poston). Make a notce of the poston of the ponter (3) to use t for all further adjustments. Ths lower end poston locks the upper blade n place to prevent t from movng out of adjustment. 5. Move the knob (4) ant-clockwse untl the ponter s n the mddle poston between the lower end poston and the poston "16". 6. Tghten the knurled knob (7). 7. Run some test-cuts to check f t s possble to separate the PCB's. If t s not possble reduce the dstance between the blades n small steps. Notce The descrbed adjustment helps to reduce the separaton forces. Ths s mportant when senstve components are very close to the groove.

3 Installaton 3.5 Adjustment of the Stop of the Upper Blade 9 Notce The lower stop of the upper blade adjustment s already adjusted by delvery. After a long operaton tme, whle workng at strongly varyng temperatures or else after replacng a blade, t s recommended to re-adjust the lower stop. 1 2 4 7 3 4 5 6 Fg. 6 Adjustment of the stop of the upper blade 1. Move the upper blade carrer (1) n the mddle poston of the lower blade. 2. Hold the knob (4) and loosen the knurled knob (7). 3. Rotate the ponter (2) wth the knob (4) ant-clockwse nto poston "16". 4. Loosen the cylnder screw (3). 5. Move the knob (4) clockwse untl the upper and lower blades gently touch wthout overlappng. 6. Hold tght the knob (4) and tghten the knurled knob (7). 7. Re-adjust the upper blade poston 3.4 on page 8.

10 3 Installaton 10 3.6 Check the Blade Algnment Notce When the machne s put nto operaton for the frst tme, or followng a move of equpment or a change of blades, t s advantageous to re-check the algnment of the blades n relatonshp to one another. For ths purpose a dal gauge assembly (Part No. 8970208) s avalable as an opton. 1 2 3 4 5 6 6 7 4 9 7 10 Fg. 7 Check the blade algnment 1. Move the blade carrer (1) to the mddle of ts range of travel. 2. Affx the dal gauge assembly onto the threaded hole (2) n the blade carrer and screw tght wth the knurled screw (4) provded. Ensure that the small spgot (5) mounted on the nsde of the lever (6) locates correctly nto the hole (3) provded n the blade carrer. 3. Swng the lever (6) upwards untl the tp of the gauge feeler (7) presses onto the upper blade (9) at 2 mm of the edge of the blade. Rotate the scale on the dal gauge untl the ponter n the 1/100 mm dvson s lned up wth the 0 on the scale. 4. Swng the lever (6) downwards untl the tp of the gauge feeler (7) presses onto the lower blade (10) at 2 mm of the edge of the blade. The results acheved from measurng along the complete length of the lower blade may not vary by more than ±0.1 mm from the values obtaned from the upper blade measurements. 5. In the event of the values obtaned by the above procedure beng greater than ±0.1 mm, the servcng agent responsble for your machne should be contacted. 6. Remove the dal gauge assembly. 3.7 Upper Gude Adjustment 1 2 2 3 A Fg. 8 4 Upper gude adjustment 1. Usng a pre-scored PCB, check the clearance A between the upper gudes (1,3) and the lower blade (4). The clearance should be set so that the edge of the upper gude s located correctly nto the pre-scored groove of the PCB. The PCB can be smoothly moved backwards and forwards but cannot move sdeways. The upper gudes (1,3) prevent the PCB from slppng to the sde and therefore ensures that t s not separated other than at the pre-scored groove. 2. As requred, the clearance A should be adjusted as descrbed above by turnng the eccentrc adjusters (2).

3 Installaton 3.8 Adjustment of Table and Platform 11 1 2 3 1 2 1 2 4 1 2 Fg. 9 Adjustment of Table and Platform Adjust the heght of table (3) and platform (4) as follows : 1. Loosen screws (1). 2.
