In case the acquisition of the equipment, plants, and real estate had been performed by financial leasing, the tax base shall be reduced by the value of the repaid principal of the leasing in that tax period. If the taxpayer dispossesses or gives the equipment, plants, and real estate to others to use, within the period of three years from the date of putting it in use, it shall lose the right to tax exemption and shall pay the tax as if the reduction had not been used in the course of the calculation of the base - Article 14a of the Law; The tax base for the profit tax shall also be reduced by the amount of the income tax and contributions paid for newly employed workers, for the minimum of 30 new workers in one business year, for the period of three years from the date of employment of those workers - Article 14b of the Law, 3 Under the OUN Security Council Resolution No. 1244 8 INVESTMENT PROFILE OF THE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES SECTOR OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

FREE TRADE ZONES The free trade zones in BiH are a part of the customs territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and have the status of a legal person. The users do not pay VAT or import duties on equipment that is to be used for production. Investments in free trade zones, the transfer of profits and investment transfer are free of charge. Foreign investors may act as co-founders of the free zones, while the export of products produced in a free zone is the precondition for their survival, and therefore for using the benefits of the free zone. Introduction of new and development of existing spaces in free zones may become one of the key ways to attract foreign direct investments in our country. It is evident that the model of free zones that would be the most efficient in contributing to economic growth in our country is the productive type of free zones in which the zone acts as the producer and as the exporter.
