transport operation in accordance with JAR-OPS 3 over a hostile environment with any AS332 or EC225 helicopter to which European Aviation Safety Agency Emergency Airworthiness Directive 2013-0138-E Rev 1 dated 15 July 2013 applies. 2.3 Paragraph 2.2 does not apply to any Search and Rescue flights for the purpose of saving life where the EC225 helicopter is in full compliance with EASA Emergency AD 2013-0138R1 and is operating using 15% reduction of Maximum Continuous Power, MCP, at IAS 60 knots. 2.4 Paragraph 2.2 does not apply to any Search and Rescue training flights over water within safe landing distance from land or offshore helideck where the EC225 helicopter is in full compliance with EASA Emergency AD 2013-0138R1 and is operating using 15% reduction of Maximum Continuous Power, MCP, at IAS 60 knots. 2.5 In this Safety Directive a hostile environment: a) Subject to subparagraph (b) has the same meaning as in JAR-OPS 3; and c) Includes all open sea areas north of 45N and south of 45S 2.6 Paragraph 2.2 does not apply to any AS332 which complies with AD 2013-0138-E Action (8) Installation of MGB bevel gear vertical shaft with P/N 331A-3115-xx. 2.7 Paragraph 2.2 does not apply to any EC225, which has the following configuration/modifications incorporated: Document Subject Objective EC22505A036R0 MAIN ROTOR DRIVE MAIN GEARBOX (MGB) Internal cleaning of the bevel gear Part Number (MP/N) 332A32-5101- 00/05/10/15 and replacement of the MGB oil jet EC225-04A009R3: 3.B.2 Eddy Current Inspection (prior to 01.10.2013) or LIMITATIONS MAIN GEARBOX Monitoring of the bevel gear P/N 332A32-5101-00/05/10/15 To obtain a datum prior to resumption of flights To achieve improved lubrication and cleaning immediately To obtain a datum prior to resumption of flights and establish that detectable crack(s) are not present Page 2 of 6

To obtain real time HUMS (M ARMS) monitoring when resuming flights Unloading of the structural loads on the gearbox Limits available torque to 70% Ensure proper functioning of emergency lubrication in case of failure of oil based lubrication system To provide indication of system integrity during revenue flights Allow flights under restrictions without passengers to facilitate maintenance Emergency Airworthiness Directive 2013-0138-E Rev 1 All other requirements of EAD must be accomplished as specified 3 REASON 3.1 This Safety Directive is made in the interest of safe operations following two accidents involving EC225 helicopters that were required to make emergency landings and pending further investigation into the circumstances surrounding these events. 3.2 The type certificate holder, Eurocopter, has developed a set of measures intended to mitigate the risk of having to make an emergency landing facing hostile conditions. 5 CANCELLATION 5.1 This Safety Directive came into force on 19July 2013 and shall remain in force until revoked by CAA Norway. 5.2 This Safety Directive supersedes, Safety Directive 201208342-1, which is hereby cancelled.
