The Kids Crazy Island Tea Party is an exciting and unique family event, part of The Sydney Morning Herald Crave Sydney International Food Festival. Where is the event? Goat Island, which is the largest island on Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour), is located west towards the Sydney suburb of Balmain. Does it cost anything to attend? No. The Kid s Crazy Island Tea Party is a free event presented by Destination NSW on behalf of the NSW Government. What age group is this event for? This event is for especially for kids under 12 years old. The entire family is welcome. EVENT INFORMATION What are the dates of the event? Saturday 15 October Sunday 16 October Saturday 22 October Sunday 23 October Saturday 29 October Sunday 30 October What are the times? There are two (2) session times per day. Session # 1: 9.00AM 12.45PM Session # 2: 1.00PM 4.45PM How long will I be gone for? You will be on the island for a total of 2 hours. With boat transportation the total round trip is 3 hours and 45 minutes. What s the best time to arrive? For the morning session please arrive at 8:45AM. For the afternoon session please arrive at 12:45PM. Where does the boat depart from? The boat departs from Man O War Steps, which is located on the eastern Botanical Garden side of the Sydney Opera House. What happens if I miss the boat? Space permitting, we will try and include you on the next session time that day or the next day.

No, this is a free event. How do I register for a session? You can register for a day and time through www.cravesydney.com How many tickets can I register for? You may register for up to 6 tickets. Can a child be at the event without an adult to supervise? No, children must be supervised at all times by a nominated carer who is an adult (no less than 18 years of age). If I have not registered can I still turn up? Spaces are limited and we encourage reservation to avoid disappointment on the day. Please check www.cravesydney.com for session availability. Will I get a ticket? Do I need to bring the ticket with me on the day? Yes, you will receive a printable barcoded ticket when you register. You must bring your ticket with you on the day to gain entry to the event. Tickets will be scanned upon entry. Can I reprint the tickets for my friends and family? All tickets will have a unique barcode, so that even if the ticket is printed off a number of times, they can only be scanned once. If I forget my tickets on the day can I still come? You must bring all your tickets with you on the day to participate in the event. What happens if I can no longer attend the session I booked? You may swap tickets amongst your family and friends, should you no longer be able to attend. Unfortunately you cannot exchange your tickets for alternate sessions. If it is raining, will the event still go ahead? Yes, the event will still go ahead unless there are extreme weather conditions. Check the website for updates.
ON THE DAY INFORMATION What do I need to bring on the day? Printed tickets Picnic rug Water for the journey Hat and sunscreen Light jacket and umbrella (in case there s a change in the weather) Camera to capture the special moments Any special dietary or medical items that may be required. Can I attend the event if I am in a wheelchair? Yes, the event will be wheelchair accessible however please be aware there are uneven surfaces on the island. Can I bring a stroller on the boat and Island? Yes, you can bring a stroller however there are uneven surfaces on the island. It may be easier not to bring a stroller, or at least bring a smaller, more portable one. Will food and drink be available to purchase on Goat Island? Yes, there will be food and snacks for purchase. Can I bring my own food on to the Island? Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food. Will food be given to the children? Yes, children will be able to sample food during the event. Does any of the food contain traces of nuts? Yes. Chocolate and other food may contain traces of nuts. You are responsible to ensure your children do not eat any food they may be allergic to. Will there be any tea and coffee for adults? Yes, tea and coffee will be available to purchase. Will alcoholic beverages be served or sold? Under no circumstances is alcohol permitted at this event. Any persons found in possession of alcohol, consuming alcohol or under the influence of alcohol within the venue will be removed from the island. Will there be First Aid on site? Yes. Will water be available? Yes, however we encourage you to bring your own water bottles. Will there be an ATM or eftpos facilities on Goat Island? No there are no ATM facilities on the island, please bring cash with you. Will there be a Lost & Found? Yes there will be a lost and found on the island. If a child is lost, where should they go? The meeting point for lost children is at the first aid area. We ask that parents point out the first aid area to their children when they arrive and explain that is where they should go if they are lost. Will there be a disabled persons bathroom on the Island?
Yes, there is one disabled persons bathroom. Can a child be at the event without an adult to supervise? No, children must be supervised at all times by a nominated carer who is an adult (no less than 18 years of age). Can I bring my dog to the event? Please leave your pets at home.
