3 TOUR MAP INFORMATION BOARD BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS In order to confirm a booking, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required Balance payment is due 60 days prior to start date For flights and gorilla trekking permits, 100% payment is due immediately CANCELLATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS All cancellations must be advised of in writing For cancellations made more than 60 days prior to start date: 30% cancellation penalty will apply (i.e. full deposit) For cancellations made between 45 and 60 days prior to departure date: 50% cancellation penalty will apply For cancellation made less than 45 days prior to departure date: 100% cancellation penalty will apply (i.e. the full booking cost)
4 INSURANCE Bush Butlers strongly insists that every traveller purchases comprehensive travel insurance. As the deposit is non-refundable, and cancellation penalties apply, insurance must be taken out which can cover you in the event of you needing to cancel your travel plans Bush Butlers will not be liable for any costs resulting from any traveller s failure to purchase sufficient travel insurance LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS ON LIGHT AIRCRAFT Many itineraries include light aircraft flights. Please note that these flights have very strict luggage restrictions. Please take note of the following: East Africa: Bags must be completely soft sided. At present, bags with frames and wheels are accepted, provided the rest of the bag is soft. The weight limit is 15 kg per person. This includes hand luggage. Extra weight allowance can be purchased in advance. If your bags do not fit the requirements, you may be asked to purchase a suitable bag from the airline and repack your belongings into this. This is beyond our control and any increase levied will be passed to you DETAILED DAILY ITINERARY Day 01 Arrive in Arusha After landing in northern Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport (arrival flight not included in quotation) you will be met after entry formalities and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge where you will spend 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis. - 1 night (breakfast) Arusha Coffee Lodge Situated just 5 minutes from Arusha Airport, the Arusha Coffee Lodge is ideally placed to begin a safari in Tanzania, and offers stylish accommodation on the grounds of a coffee plantation. Comprising 30 Plantation Houses - including 12 Plantation Suites - all of which radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields - Arusha Coffee Lodge has been designed around the original landowner s home which dates back over 100 years. Day 02 Arusha ~ Tarangire National Park
5 You will be collected by your guide and private vehicle this morning and driven to Tarangire National Park, where you will spend the next 3 nights at Oliver s Camp on a fully inclusive basis. After settling in to the camp you will start your game viewing in the National Park. - 3 nights (all meals and drinks) Oliver s Camp Located in the middle of the Tarangire wilderness, Oliver s Camp provides 10 guest tents scattered along the marsh edge with excellent views over the permanent water source. Each tent is covered by traditional thatch and offers an outdoor shower with indoor toilet and wash facilities.. Every evening you relax or read in the lounge and library tent, or drink sundowners at the fireplace after an exciting day in the heart of Tarangire. Walking safaris are the specialty of the camp. Tarangire National Park One of the best dry season parks in the region, from July through to October an enormous amount of wildlife is drawn inside Tarangire to access the water from the Tarangire River and the Silale Swamps, allowing for very rewarding game viewing experiences. The park is home to some of the largest elephant herds of East Africa, and the scenery is particularly popular for the wide open, Serengeti-like plains, decorated with enormous and commanding Baobab trees. Day 03 & 04 Tarangire National Park These two full days will be spent on day and night game drives exploring more of Tarangire with a guided walking safari on one of the days. Day 05 Tarangire National Park ~ Ngorongoro Crater After breakfast and a game drive to exit Tarangire, you will be driven through Lake Manyara National Park. After a picnic lunch you will head to the wilderness area to the north of Ngorongoro Crater where you will spend 2 nights at The Highlands on a fully inclusive basis. - 2 nights (all meals and drinks) The Highlands Ngorongoro Set high on the slopes of Olmoti volcano, The Highlands will be a warm and stylish high altitude camp. The seven luxurious tented suites will offer king size beds with bay windows so you can enjoy the endless views from the comfort of your bed. Wood burning stoves will keep your domed suite warm throughout the night. The main area will be built around an inside fire place, the perfect place to unwind at the end of a day of exploring.
6 Lake Manyara National Park Being a relatively small park, and with Lake Manyara taking up the majority of the area, Lake Manyara National Park can be covered easily on half-day game drives, but these drives are usually very rewarding despite their brevity. The scenery and birdlife are Lake Manyara's major attractions, with the lake being perfectly located to offer spectacular views along the Great Rift Valley. Ngorongoro Crater A unique and fascinating game viewing destination, the Ngorongoro Crater is a must-see on any Tanzania safari. Being the world's largest intact caldera, and the result of a collapsed volcano thousands of years ago, the 260 square kilometres of crater floor hosts up to 25 000 animals at all times of year. This makes it one of the most dense wildlife areas in Africa, and allows for many memorable sightings. Day 06 Ngorongoro Crater A highlight awaits you this morning as you head to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend through the early morning mists to the crater floor. An amazingly diverse and abundant wildlife populates this ancient caldera, and you will spend the day touring this varied habitat, with a picnic lunch at a hippo pool. This afternoon you head back out of the crater to your camp. Day 07 Ngorongoro Crater ~ Serengeti National Park This morning, your guide will bid you farewell when he drops you off at Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Kogatende in northern Serengeti. On landing you will be met by camp guides and driven to Sayari Camp to spend 3 nights on a fully inclusive basis. You will go on a game drive this afternoon after settling in to your tented accommodation. - 3 nights (all meals and drinks) Sayari Camp Sayari Camp overlooks vast Serengeti plains, home to staggering wildlife, great numbers of big cats, giraffe, elephant and buck and an increasing population of rhino. The 15 luxury guest tents blend perfectly into the majestic Serengeti landscape. Both wings have a separate mess and dining area to ensure intimacy and personal service. Each tent has a kingsize bed (twins also available) and a large, private veranda overlooking the Serengeti. The en suite bathrooms each have a flush toilet, double basin, shower and a beautiful bath with a view. After game drives, you can enjoy the infinity pool or choose to relax in the privacy of your veranda, the warmth of the fire place, or the comfort of the library, bar or lounge.
7 Serengeti National Park The word "Siringit" means "endless plains", and this is understandably from where the Serengeti National Park takes its name. The iconic, endless, golden plains of Africa are nowhere more evident than within this national park, as they stretch off into eternity, dotted throughout with thousands of animals. Located in the north-west corner of Tanzania, alongside Lake Victoria, the Serengeti has earned its place as one of the world's most famous wildlife areas. Day 08 & 09 Serengeti National Park For these two full days you will have morning and afternoon game drives, or a full day drive with a picnic lunch, hopefully with the amazing concentrations of game and the attendant predators and scavengers within range of your drives. Day 10 Day of Departure You will be driven back to Kogatende for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will connect with your onward flight (departure flight from Kilimanjaro not included in quotation).
