REFERENCE ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN LOCATION Centro Ovale Chiasso is a shopping centre in Chiasso with a unique, high-impact design that comes into view right from the highway, just a stone s throw from the national border. The visitors quickly nicknamed this shopping centre the silver egg and, generally considered one of the most contemporary buildings in Ticino. ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT LOCATION The cantonal waste-to-energy plant in Giubiasco has revolutionized waste management throughout the entire Ticino area, making the transport of 140,000 tons of wastes through the St. Gotthard Pass and Railway unnecessary. An ecological boon that, moreover, is used for electricity generation and district heating. The imposing facility required particular attention in installation of the internal freight and service elevators.
