For generations it has been home to a wide range of native plants and wildlife, as well as being a relaxed island getaway for local and international visitors. Important visitors would come from all over the world to visit, even as modern New Zealand was still in its infancy. As the popularity of the island grew, so too has the threat to the precious native wildlife and the need to protect them. The islands of Ipipiri (Eastern Bay of Islands) have been pest free since 2009. Project Island Song works to keep them that way, you must do your part too. Before you visit these pest free islands, STOP, CHECK your gear for pests and then GO (have fun).
