Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada Things you should know regarding Cavendish and Stanhope Campgrounds Updated October 20, 2017 Important Notices: Important Notices General Camping Information Fees If There is No Vacancy Require Additional Information? It is illegal to collect deadfall for firewood or cut down any brush, branches or trees within Prince Edward Island National Park. Please never leave your fire unattended. It is illegal to remove plants, animals, animal parts, shells, rocks and any natural object from a National Park. Wildlife in the park rely on these resources for food and shelter. Please leave these natural items for others to enjoy as well. The minimum fine for a violation of this regulation is $175. Pets are prohibited from all national park beaches from April 1 to October 15 annually. Pets are welcome on trails and in campgrounds but must be kept on a leash at all times. In an effort to create a quiet camping experience at the Cavendish Campground in PEI National Park, there will be an alcohol ban in effect during the Cavendish Beach Music Festival. This policy will be in effect from 12 noon on Thursday July 5, 2018 to 12 noon on Monday July 9, 2018. General Camping Information: Operating Season (Nights): Cavendish: June 8 to September 27, 2018 Stanhope: June 8 to September 3, 2018 Reservable Period (Nights): Cavendish: June 8 to September 27, 2018 Stanhope: June 8 to September 3, 2018 Reservable Percentage: 100% reservable

Kiosk Hours: Cavendish: June 8 to June 14, 2018-8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. June 15 to September 3, 2018 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. September 4 to September 27, 2018 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. September 28, 2018 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Stanhope: June 8 to June 14, 2018-8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. June 15 to September 3, 2018 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. September 4, 2018 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After Hours Registration: Campers cannot register after 10:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please contact the park directly 902-672-6350. Check In Time: Any time after 2:00 p.m. Visitors who would like to arrive at the campground earlier may enjoy the rest of the park while waiting for their campsite to become vacant (a valid national park entry pass is required). Check Out Time: Before 11:00 a.m. Quiet Hours: 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. During quiet hours, the use of radios, musical instruments, generators or other items that cause excessive noise is prohibited. Maximum Length of Stay: 21 nights Maximum Persons per Site: 6 people (exceptions may be possible for 2 adults with their dependent children to a maximum of 7 people). Maximum Vehicles per Site: 2 vehicles, space permitting. All vehicles must fit on the campsite and cannot be parked on adjacent roads, driveways or natural areas. **Trailers are limited to 27 ft (8.5 m) in Stanhope campground. Longer equipment must stay in Cavendish Campground.

Maximum Camping Units per Site: 2 tents or 1 RV/camper and 1 tent, space permitting. Generator Policy: The use of generators is only permitted between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Amperage of Electrical Service Cavendish: 20 and 30 Amp service in all serviced campsites. Select sites have 20 and 50 Amp service available. Stanhope: All Electricity and Water (2 way) sites at Stanhope are 15 Amp and all Electricity, Water and Sewer (3 way) sites at Stanhope are 30 Amp. Fire Policy: Firewood is sold by the bundle at the Campground kiosks during hours of operation. It is illegal to collect deadfall for firewood or cut down any brush, branches or trees within Prince Edward Island National Park. Please never leave your fire unattended. Campfires allowed in designated fire pits only. In order to protect the forests of PEI National Park against invasive species, please do not bring firewood into the park and only use the firewood available for purchase at the campgrounds. Alcohol Policy: In an effort to create a quiet camping experience at the Cavendish Campground in PEI National Park, there will be an alcohol ban in effect during the Cavendish Beach Music Festival. This policy will be in effect from 12 noon on Thursday July 5, 2018 to 12 noon on Monday July 9, 2018. Consumption of alcohol within the National Park is permitted only at registered campsites, private residence or licensed premises. Alcohol is prohibited at beaches, day use areas, cook shelters and trails. Pet Policy: Pets are prohibited on all beaches from April 1 to October 15 annually. Pets are welcome in the campground and in Prince Edward Island National Park but must be kept on a leash at all times and are not to be left unattended. Minimum Age Policy: Permit holders (the person who will be staying at and responsible for the site for the duration of the permit) must be 18 years of age or older. Campground Locations: Cavendish Campground is located in the town of Cavendish, off of route 6 on Graham s Lane. The campground has its own supervised beach. Longitude: -63.408291 Street Address: 357 Graham's Lane, Cavendish, PE Directions: From the Confederation Bridge: Follow Route 1A to Kensington, then follow Route 6 to Cavendish. At the traffic lights, turn left (north) onto Graham s Lane and turn left at the campground entrance. From Charlottetown: Follow Route 2 west to Milton and turn right onto Route 7. Continue through Oyster Bed Bridge where Route 7 becomes Route 6. Follow Route 6 for approximately 20 km. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right (north) onto Graham s Lane and turn left at the campground entrance. From the Wood Islands Ferry: Follow Route 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, west towards and through Charlottetown to Milton and turn right onto Route 7. Continue through Oyster Bed Bridge where Route 7 becomes Route 6. Follow Route 6 for approximately 20 km. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right (north) onto Graham s Lane and turn left at the campground entrance. Stanhope Campground is located in Stanhope off the Gulfshore Parkway, along the north shore of Prince Edward Island National Park between Brackley and Dalvay. Stanhope Campground GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 46.49726 Longitude: -63.408291 Street Address: 983 Gulfshore Parkway, Stanhope, PE Directions: From the Confederation Bridge: Follow Route 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, east to Charlottetown. Turn onto the Charlottetown Arterial Highway ( Bypass ) then turn left (north) onto Route 15 toward Brackley Beach. After approximately 19 kilometres you will enter PEI National Park and the Gulfshore Parkway. Follow the parkway for 7.2km until you reach Stanhope Campground on the right. From Charlottetown: Follow the Charlottetown Arterial Highway ( Bypass ) and turn north onto Route 15 heading to Brackley Beach. After approximately 19 kilometres you will enter PEI National Park and the Gulf Shore Highway. Follow the highway for 7.2km until you reach Stanhope Campground on the right. From the Wood Islands Ferry: Follow Route 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, west to Charlottetown. Turn right onto Route 2 (St. Peters Highway). Turn left onto Route 6. After approximately 10 km you will enter PEI National Park at the Dalvay gate. Continue straight along the Gulfshore Parkway for another 5km until you reach Stanhope Campground on the left. Campground Descriptions: Cavendish Campground : All sites at Cavendish Campground have firepits Our largest campground, close to all amenities. Exceptional recreational opportunities abound, such as a supervised beach within the campground and nearby hiking and cycling trails.

Washrooms with showers and flush toilets, kitchen shelters, Laundromat, playground equipment, and interpretive programs. Communal water taps and a dump station are available. Select sites and facilities are accessible for people with disabilities. Electricity, Water and Sewer: Wooded, drive through sites, moderate privacy. Suitable for tent trailers, motorhomes and trailers. Electricity and Water: Wooded sites, moderate privacy. These are not drive through sites. Suitable for tents, tent trailers, motorhomes and trailers. Unserviced with Ocean View: Completely open sites and provide no shade, poor privacy. Suitable for tents and tent trailers. Unserviced: Mostly open sites and provide no shade, poor privacy. Suitable for tents. A select number of sites can accommodate tent trailers. Stanhope Campground (129 reservable sites): ALL sites at Stanhope Campground have firepits. Trailers are limited to 27 ft long (8.5 m). If longer, they must stay in Cavendish Campground. A charming campground located directly across the road from the beach. All campsites are within walking distance of the beach. (The supervised beach closest to this campground is Stanhope main beach and is located 1 km from the campground.) Hiking and cycling trails are also nearby. Unserviced: (39 sites) some open sites, some partially wooded sites. Privacy poor to moderate. Suitable for tents and tent trailers. If There is No Vacancy for Your Dates: With 100% reservable sites, there are no extra sites when the campgrounds are full. There are private campgrounds nearby.
