Ol tank and burner 4 205 113 / 02 8. Ol tank and burner (Uno-3 / Mega-3 / Max-3 / Cosmo / ST-plus / Ttan-3 E) 8.1 Fllng the ol tank Always swtch off the operatng mode selecton swtch at the heatng boler when fllng the ol tank. It s only to be swtched back on after a watng tme of approx. 2 hours. The ol suppler s to supervse the fllng of the heatng ol tank. 8.2 Fuel Ol burners generally operate wth 35 sec fuel ol. The heatng boler s also sutable for gas frng f ftted wth the approprate burner. 8.3 Burner settng Your burner was checked at the factory. Settng s carred out by the heatng nstaller or Hoval after-sales servce at the tme of commssonng (for output settngs, see Data of your heatng nstallaton. pages 5/6). 8.4 Heatng space and fresh ar supply For correct combuston of the heatng ol the burner requres a supply of fresh ar. Provson s therefore always to be made for an adequate supply of fresh ar to the boler house for both combuston and ventlaton. Contamnated ntake ar, e.g. wth dust or textle fbres leads to a rapd deteroraton of the combuston and possble reducton n the lfe of the boler. So the bolerhouse s to be kept as clean and as free of dust as possble. No chemcals are to be stored n the bolerhouse or the n the zone of the fresh ar supply to the bolerhouse. 8.5 Placng n operaton When frst placng n operaton, take note of the Techncal nformaton / nstallaton nstructons for the burner. Check the water content of the heatng system. Check the ol level n the ol tank wth the dpstck. Check the settngs of the boler automatc system, and thermostats. Check the ol supply to the burner (open the ol ppelne gate valve). Check the fuses on the swtch panel. Place the emergency swtch to the poston On. The burner can now be placed n operaton by swtchng on the man swtch and the operatng mode selecton swtch at the heatng boler. 8.6 Placng out of operaton To place the ol burner out of operaton for a short tme t s suffcent to smply swtch off at the operatng mode selecton swtch. For longer perods t s recommended to close the ol shutoff valves. 46

4 205 113 / 02 Ol tank and burner 8.7 Operatng faults All burner functons are montored by the ntegrated ol frng automatc devces. Any operatng faults are sgnalled by the lghtng of a fault clearng button 1 at the ol frng automatc devce and the fault dsplay lamp on the boler. The burner can be restarted by pressng the fault clearng button on the ol burner (max. 2-3 tmes). If burner operaton s not possble n spte of ths, notfy the specalst. 1 8.8 Burner mantenance An mportant precondton for cost-effectve operaton and for mantanng good ar qualty s the sound condton of your burner system. The burner must be nspected resp. cleaned by a specalst once a year. We recommend you to conclude a mantenance contract. 47
