The Journey Day 0 Thursday, July 12: Depart your hometown Day 1 Friday, July 13: Arrive Krakow Arriving in Krakow, we will meet you at the airport, and transfer you to your Some time to rest and cool your heels. Dinner at one of many Krakow restaurants. Day 2 Saturday, July 14: Sanok After breakfast, take a trip to Sanok village. It is situated in a picturesque location along the San River near foothills and parks. Once settled by Lemkos, the town's history goes back almost 1000 years. Have snacks for lunch on the way. Upon arrival check in at the hotel and free time for rest. A welcome dinner will sum up this interesting day. After lunch in Slovakia, visit Svidnik (folk and war outdoor museums). On the way back to Sanok - a piece of sad history driving along Dukla Pass. Explore Museum of Folk Architecture which is laid out like a typical village of yesteryear. Evening at leisure.
The Journey Day 4 Monday, July 16: Sanok - Gorlice Spend the first half of this day in the State Archive in Sanok. In the afternoon, depart for Gorlice and check into the hotel. Dinner in the hotel. Day 5 Tuesday, July 17: Gorlice In the morning have a sightseeing city walk (historical place of first in the world street lamp). Afterwards, visit city food market. Our next destination point, Ruska Bursa real cultural Lemko center. In this symbolic place we will take part at decorating Easter eggs workshop. Afterwards, have welcome lunch in Ruska Bursa and try Lemko palunka. HOTEL: Margot hotel www.hotelmargot.pl 5 Nights Day 6 Wednesday, July 18: Lemkovyna On this day take a trip around Gorlice area along a scenic Lemko region, including unique Lemko wooden churches, Losie (the village with Mazury Farm an ethnographic museum), Klimkowka (nonexistent), Uscie (Once Ruskie), Hanczowa, Wysowa,Kwiaton and others. Subsequently, visit and take part in workshops of Lost Lemko Crafts Museum in Gladyszow. Day 7 Thursday, July 19: Krynica In the morning we are heading to Krynica (a pearl of mineral waters) with a museum of one of the most famous in the world Lemko artists, Nykyfor Drovnjak - a native painter. Explore the city center and on your own. Later, take a trip around Krynica area including Florynka(Lemko Republic was formed), Kamianna(beekeeping museum), Brunary ( church on the Unesco List). Day 8 Friday, July 20: Lemko Vatra Take a trip to Zdynia place of Lemko Vatra and enjoy dances & singing of folk groups. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised. Have lunch there on your own. We will be back in Gorlice late afternoon.
The Journey Day 9 Saturday, July 21: Zakopane Leave Gorlice hotel and depart for Zakopane to feel the magical atmosphere of the winter capital of Poland. Stop at the rapids of the Dunajec River - one of the most attractive tours offered in this region. Take a ride a funicular railway in Zakopane to the top of Mount Gubalowka to see a wonderful view of the Tatras. Dinner in the karczma - a mountaineer tavern with waitres dressed in traditional costumes & with musicians providing folk music on their violins. Spend a night in Zakopane. HOTEL: Panorama Hotel http://panorama-zakopane.pl/ 1 Night Day 10 Sunday, July 22: DEPARTURE After some free time to stock up on souvenirs we will transfer you to the airport where, sadly, it s time to go back home or continue on to new exciting destinations
