HOLIDAY Fascinating family walking, cultural and adventure holiday in Morocco A magical family adventure in Morocco, with camel supported walks along the coast Spend time in Marrakech bursting with life and coastal, historic Essaouira One night camping in the sand dunes under the starry skies Drink sweet mint tea, relax in a Hammam and explore the colourful souk markets HOLIDAY CODE FMC Morocco, Trek & Walk, Family, 7 Days 1 night hotel, 1 night camping, 2 nights guesthouse with swimming pool, 2 nights hotel with swimming pool, 6 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 4 dinners, max group size: 16, 3 days easy walks with camels

PAGE 2 VIEW DATES, PRICES & BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY HERE Introduction Combining the magical city of Marrakech, with time on the beach, walking with camels and discovering the pirate city of Essaouira this is an excellent short introduction to the fun and colourful country of Morocco. Families are always welcomed with open arms by the warm and friendly people everywhere you go. Starting in Marrakech from our hotel with a pool we travel to the coastal village of Sidi Kaouki where we have two nights at a guesthouse with pool and sea views. From here we enjoy walks along the beach with camel support before we pack our bags on the camels and head out for an exciting overnight camp in the sand dunes to watch the starry night sky. The afternoons are free for paddling, beachcombing, beach games, an optional surf lesson or simply for relaxing. This stretch of the Atlantic is wild, dramatic, remote and beautiful. Onto walled city of Essaouira where old cannons still point out to sea (true pirate style), we find a wealth of shops and souks, and a sandy beach famous for wind and kite surfing. The last night of the holiday is spent in Marrakech were we can walk in the main square Djemaa el Fna, watching the children delight at the fascinating mix of dancers, music, storytellers and food stalls which are found here. This holiday truly captures the essence of Morocco and allows parents and children alike to have an active and culturally rich time away. Explore International. This holiday is part of our Explore International range. Participants on these trips can book through KE or through one of our international partners. This helps us to gather together sufficient numbers of like-minded adventurers to get your holiday up and running quickly. Led by an English-speaking guide, the cosmopolitan nature of these groups can be an important part of the experience! Award winning tour operator for holidays in North Africa In November 2016, KE won a British Travel Award for Best Holiday Company to North Africa. We have been operating in Morocco for many years and this is country close to our hearts. The majority of KE staff have travelled to this fascinating country, meaning we are true Moroccan experts. Is this holiday for you? Suitable for children from 6yrs old Morocco is bustling with noise and life, which is great fun when embraced. Our two nights in the village of Sidi Kaouki will be relaxing away from the busy towns of Marrakech & Essaouira. We have 1 night camping, where all camping equipment is provided. We have three walks along the beach with the camels which are between 3-5 hours. The pace is not fast, and children and adults alike can take turns on the camels, but note that these are walking days not camel riding days! It can be hot during the middle of the day, though a cooling breeze from the sea often alleviates this. The guide will speak both English and French, and the group may include both English and French families. For the optional surfing lessons children need to be 6yrs or above, there is no restriction of height or size. Holiday Itinerary Day 1: Meet at the group hotel in Marrakech. Transfers from Marrakech Airport are provided.

PAGE 3 On arrival in Marrakech you will be met by a KE representative who will assist with the short transfer to the group hotel. After settling in you may have the time to do a little exploration. There is lots to see and do in Marrakech, and quite easy to get around. You can head for the central square, Djemaa-el-Fna, beneath the imposing tower of the Koutoubia Mosque. The main labyrinth of souks is also found here if we fancy looking around and chatting to the local sellers. We can have dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant. ACCOMMODATION HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL Day 2: Transfer to Sidi Kaouki on the Atlantic coast. Afternoon walk on the beach or swim in the pool. We depart Marrakech this morning on our scenic drive to the coast (approximately 3hrs). We pass many plantations for the famous Moroccan Argan Oil, as our journey takes us to the village of Sidi Kaouki, just south of Essaouira. There are a few small accommodations here which cater mainly for the surfers who come for the waves and wind that bless the long sandy beaches here. We arrive at our guesthouse accommodation, with sea views, at lunchtime. Our Berber host family cook us delicious meals from locally sourced produce. Alongside more traditional Moroccan dishes there will be some classics for the children to munch through. Maybe a nap, or a splash around in the guesthouse swimming pool will bring us into the mid afternoon when we'll walk down to the beach 10-15mins. We'll play some beach games or have a paddle before returning to the accommodation for dinner, beautifully prepared by our hosts again. ACCOMMODATION GUESTHOUSE WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD Day 3: Gentle walk with the camels to the sandy point of Cape Sim. Optional surf lesson. Leaving from the guesthouse after a breakfast we have an easy paced walk in a northerly direction to the sandy point of Cape Sim. This is a lovely walk. Looking back we great some great views of the position of the guesthouse and the stunning long beach at Sidi Kaouki. We walk along the beach and our camels will accompany us with their long legs softly padding on the sand. Cape Sim is a great sandy point with splendid views along the coast and out to the ocean. We stop for long picnic lunch along the way which has been carried by our camel and prepared by the cook. We have time to play games on the beach or relax in the shade of a tree. We return by a slightly different inland route. Back at Sidi Kaouki beach we can partake in an optional surf lesson. This can be one of the highlights of the holiday for some children (and adults!). The surfing here is very dependent on the local conditions (wind, waves, tide), so we need to remain flexible and aware that it might be happen, to avoid disappointment. Back at the accommodation there is, as always, time for a swim in the pool before dinner and a good night sleep. ACCOMMODATION GUESTHOUSE WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS BLD TIME 4 HRS WALKING HOURS Day 4: Great mini-adventure, walk with the camels and camp in the sand dunes. After breakfast we sort out our luggage, as our overnight bag needs to go on the camels to take to camp. We watch as the camel handlers expertly load the camels with the tents, mats and pots and pans and everything that is required for our one camping night, and then we are off on our mini-adventure. We walk south, along the beach and sand dunes down to the beach of Azrou where we are camping tonight. We then carry on and explore the assif (river) Boud which cuts through the dunes to the sea. This is a great place surrounded by dunes, near a pretty waterfall, and close to the beach. We can also have shower in the warm waterfall, and looking for creatures in the rock pools and slide down the dunes. There will be lots of time to splash around in the shallow waters, paddle, play some football or do cart wheels in the sand. At camp the team will help us put our tents up and set up camp. Then

PAGE 4 we will have dinner, and watch the sky change colours for the sunset and maybe join in with the Berber team singing some songs. The night skies are incredible here with minimal light pollution, allowing us to see billions of stars, and the sounds will only be of distant waves crashing on the beaches. It'll be a special night. ACCOMMODATION CAMPING MEALS BLD TIME 4-5 HRS WALKING HOURS Day 5: Walk along beach watching the windsurfers. Transfer to Essaouira. We will wake early with the sun rising and the light arriving on the beaches and sea. It's a beautifully peaceful time of the day. After some breakfast we pack up our things onto the camels and we return to the guesthouse in Sidi Kaouki. We will have a final meal with our Berber host before bidding them farewell. We board our minibus for the 40 minute drive to the old pirate port of Essaouira. This is a great place with a vibrant Berber culture, but a lot more relaxed than Marrakech. It has many souks and stalls to buy all manner of pretty painted bowls, mint tea teapots, spices, and other souvenirs to take home. The town is also renowned for the delicious fresh fish eateries. Time allowing it might be possible to have pampering in a traditional hammam (hot bath) using the local argan oils. ACCOMMODATION HOTEL MEALS BLD TIME 3-4 HRS WALKING HOURS Day 6: Transfer back to Marrakech for lunch. Afternoon free in Marrakech. After breakfast at our hotel, we make the drive (3hrs) back to Marrakech, arriving at around lunchtime. This afternoon we can relax at the hotel with its gardens with swimming pool or do some more sightseeing in this exciting town. Traditionally, our last night in Morocco is celebrated with an excellent Moroccan buffet feast, our guide can recommend a good restaurant for us. Relaxing over this leisurely meal is a memorable way to end this fantastic family adventure. ACCOMMODATION HOTEL WITH SWIMMING POOL MEALS B Day 7: Departure day. Marrakech Airport transfers are provided. KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. For those clients with evening flights the remainder of the day is free to explore the streets, souks and colourful sights of Marrakech. A popular option is to simply sit and watch the world go by from one of the restaurants overlooking the Djemma el-fna. Airport transfers are provided on this day. MEALS B Extend Your Holiday Extensions When booking your holiday, you will be able to 'add an extension option'. Once we have received your booking we will contact you to discuss additional services required for the extension and to take any additional deposit.

PAGE 5 Into The Sahara Desert For a real taste of the Sahara this adventure is hard to beat! After journeying across the Atlas Mountains we arrive in the oasis town of Agdz for a night in a traditional Moroccan house. Next we head to our comfortable fixed Berber camp at Erg Chegaga and take in a spectacular desert sunset before settling down under star-filled Saharan skies! In the morning we'll watch sunrise over the dunes before exploring this magical landscapes by 4WD. After a night in Ouarzazate, we make our way back to Marrakech via the magnificent UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. (Please note this extension includes a local driver but not a KE leader. This gives you more freedom to explore at leisure pre/post KE group trip). Food Moroccan cuisine is amongst the best in the world and our meals cooked by our Berber hosts or are taken in a range of restaurants and other eateries. Breakfasts are continental style, with tea and coffee, orange juice, cereals including muesli, bread, jam, honey and cheese. A typical Moroccan menu begins with a simple selection of mezze,

PAGE 6 which might include a bowl of olives or a selection of cooked vegetable salads dressed with olive oil, sprinkled with cumin and served with a dip and flat bread. The tagine or roast meat (or vegetable) dish comes next, served with couscous and often a salad. There will be some meat (usually chicken, lamb or beef). Meat is not prominent in the menu. All dishes come with traditional sauces which are rarely (spicy) hot. A simple plate of prepared fresh fruit or dessert marks the end of the meal, before the mint tea is served. For our picnic lunches we may have a buffet of rice, pasta or cous-cous, with a freshly prepared salad - onion, tomatoes, green peppers, grated carrot, green beans, with tinned sweetcorn or peas added. Hard and soft cheeses, tinned fish, olives, biscuits and bread are also on the lunchtime menu. In the hotels and restaurants in towns it is also usually possible to get more western types of food such as chips and pizzas (to please the children!) Boiled and treated water is provided when staying at the guesthouse and on the walks. You will be able to fill your personal water bottles from this. You can purchase bottled water for 1GBP per 5 litres to 50p for 2litres. Joining Arrangements & Transfers Airport transfers are provided for all clients arriving on Day 1 and departing on the last day of the Land Only itinerary. If your flight schedules do not fit with these airport transfers we can provide private transfers at an additional cost. For clients intending to make their own transfer arrangements at Marrakech Airport taxis are available outside the arrivals hall at all times. They are equipped with meters but most taxi drivers are reluctant to use them and you should either insist on a meter or agree the fare before setting off. The standard fare to the city in a "petite taxi" is normally around 6 though you may have to pay a little more if arriving late at night. The airport is approximately 4 miles from the city and the journey takes 10-15 minutes. Hotel contact details and an emergency number will be provided with your booking confirmation. Accommodation In Marrakech (2 nights) we stay at the Farah hotel just outside the city walls which has relaxing gardens and a swimming pool. In Sidi Kaouki we stay a fairly newly built guesthouse with swimming pool called Dar Aalida. This is owned and run by the Berber family who are in charge of the camel logistics for our groups on the coast. It is 10-15 mins walk from the sea, in a quiet setting, with views to the sea. It has 6 bedrooms which can each accommodate 3 to 5 people and have en suite bathrooms. Each family will have their own room. It is simple, but very personable and your hosts will take excellent care of you. When camping all our equipment is supplied. We have large 2-man tents. Families of 3 will have 2 tents for their family. There is also a toilet tent. Camels will carry all the equipment and your overnight bag, so you only walk with your daypack. In Essaouira we have one night in a small hotel in the Medina, which is usually the Hotel Souiri or Riad Inna. All hotels are subject to change without notice. In Marrakech & Essoauira, 3-person families will share a triple room, whilst 4-person families will have adjacent twin-bed rooms. Occasionally there are family rooms available. We will do everything to ensure that you are happy with your rooming allocation. If you are planning on extending your holiday additional nights at the group hotel are available on request. Group Leader & Support Staff The group will be led by a professional and qualified Moroccan tour leader. This leader will speak English and French. During the walking days you will have the support of camel(s) and their handlers, and a full trek crew team including cook when on our overnight camp.

PAGE 7 Spending Money Approximately 350 per family of 4 (or equivalent in US dollars or Euros) should be allowed for tips, soft drinks, snacks, non-included meals and miscellaneous expenses. Marrakech is a great place for souvenir buying, so you may wish to budget for this. It is not necessary to purchase Moroccan currency (Dirham) outside the country. You can withdraw money in local currency from ATM s on arrival at the airport in arrivals or in Marrakech itself. Credit cards are useful and it is a good idea to carry one in case of emergency. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY COSTS: Please note that these prices are correct at time of writing, but are subject to change without warning. Optional activities taken outside the KE holiday are at your own risk. Windsurfing on Dar Alida Beach: dhs 250 for 2 hours (approx 25) Windsurfing at Essaouira (time permitting): 40 per person for 3 1/2hrs Guidance On Tipping Tips are the accepted way of saying thank you to your local guides and crew. They do not form part of their wages. KE always pays staff the best rates, no matter what country they are in and any tips they receive are seen as a personal thank you from group members. For our part, we advise local teams that tips are not a duty or a prerequisite but are a bonus and entirely dependent on the service that was given. For your crews we recommend that you give a tip if you feel that their services have met your satisfaction. As a rough guide we suggest you allow a total of 80-100 for a family of 4. Free KE Gift We give you a free gift as a way to thank all our clients who book a KE holiday. Choose from KE T-shirts, buffs, KE trek bags* (where applicable) plus many more. Alternatively you can choose to make a 10 donation to the Juniper Trust Charity. You can make your selection in your My KE account after booking. * A free KE trek bag is available on this holiday. Delivery outside of the UK will be charged. Baggage Allowance For this holiday you should take one piece of luggage and a daypack. Luggage with wheels or a soft bag such as the KE kitbag is useful for this holiday. Please also bring at least 1 soft bag to pack your families overnight belongings in for the 1 nights camping. These will be carried by camel. For international flights please check your baggage allowance with your airline. Group Size & Holiday Status For each holiday there is a minimum number of participants required to enable it to go ahead. Once the minimum number is reached, the trip status will change from 'Available' to 'Guaranteed to run'. You can check the trip status for each departure in Dates and Prices table. Other than in exceptional circumstances, we will not cancel a trip once it has achieved this guaranteed to run status and so you are free to proceed with your international flight booking and other travel arrangements.

PAGE 8 General Information Passport & Visas A passport with 6 months remaining validity at the end of your stay is generally required for visits to countries outside the EU. The information that we provide is for UK passport holders. Please check the relevant embassy or consulate for other nationalities. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct travel documents and visas for your holiday. Visa requirements and charges are subject to change without notice. If you are travelling outside the EU you should have at least 2 blank pages in your passport for each country that you visit. Visa Morocco UK and USA passport holders do not require a visa for short stays. Passport Copy For this holiday we require a scanned copy of the main pages of your passport. Please email this to the office when your holiday is guaranteed to run. Health & Vaccinations Dengue fever is a known risk in places visited. It is a tropical viral disease spread by daytime biting mosquitoes, like malaria. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. We recommend you take precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Currency The unit of currency in Morocco is the Dhiram. Electricity Supply & Plug We recommend you check if you require an adaptor for your electrical items at: http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/ Travel Aware As a reputable tour operator, KE supports the British Foreign & Commonwealth Offices' Travel Aware campaign to enable British citizens to prepare for their journeys overseas. The 'Travel Aware' website provides a single, authoritative source of advice for all kinds of travellers and we recommend that prior to travel, all KE clients visit the official UK Government website at travelaware.campaign.gov.uk and read the FCO Travel Advice for their chosen destination. North Americans can also check out the U.S. Department of State website: www.travel.state.gov for essential travel advice and tips. KE treat the safety and security of all clients as the most important aspect of any trip we organise. We would not run any trip that we did not consider reasonably safe. Should the FCO advise against travel for any reason, we will contact everyone booked to travel to discuss the situation. We receive regular updates direct from the FCO and are in constant touch with our contacts on the ground. If you have any questions about government travel advice, please call our office.

PAGE 9 Climate During April and October average daytime temperatures in Marrakech will be a comfortable 20-22ºCwhile on the coast the daytime temperatures will be around 18-20ºC. In the summer months we can expect average daytime temperatures in Marrakech of 28ºC. Evening temperatures at this time are around 22ºC. Temperatures on the coast are always cooler than Marrakech and the Atlantic breeze usually means that the real feel temperature here is around 20-22ºC. At any time of the year nighttime temperatures on the coast can drop as low as 5ºC. At the times of all our departures you are unlikely to experience rain but this can never be ruled out and you must have protection from this as well as from the sun. Flight Information Flight Inclusive Or Land Only? On our website we display a UK Flight inclusive package price and Land only package price for the majority of our holidays. Land Only Notes We sell this holiday on a Land Only basis and recommend that you book your flights to Marrakech Airport, which is approximately 15 minutes drive away from the group hotel in downtown Marrakech. Please refer to the 'Joining Arrangements and Transfers' for further details. Flights SHOULD NOT be booked until you have received your booking confirmation and the departure is showing 'Guaranteed to Run' or 'Limited'. If flying from the UK there are a number of low cost airlines offering flights to Marrakech. These include Easyjet who have flights from London & Manchester. TUI Airways who have flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol & Glasgow and Ryanair who have flights from London. If you would prefer to book a 'flight inclusive package' using scheduled airlines from the UK please contact our flights department for a quote. Whilst flight prices are likely to be more expensive you will benefit from full financial protection. Why Choose KE Adventure Travel? Why Choose KE Adventure Travel? Experience KE has 34 years experience of adventure travel worldwide. All of our holidays are accompanied by an experienced leader, some of whom have worked with KE groups for many years. Many are professional guides and instructors with an unrivalled knowledge of the areas in which they work. In many parts of the world, we recruit local guides with appropriate training and experience. In addition to having the technical skills to ensure your safety, KE expects its leaders to be active members of the group. A leader should be fun to travel with and ready to share with you their enthusiasm for adventure travel and their knowledge of the area. Alongside the group leader, there will be a local support crew, which could be just a driver, or a complete team of guides, drivers, porters, muleherders and cooks. The hard work of our support crews, along with the fascinating insight they can offer into their local culture, is integral to providing you with the very best adventure travel experience.

PAGE 10 The team of KE office staff is amongst the most experienced in the business, with the proven ability to set up and operate a worldwide programme of adventures. Every one has adventure travel at heart and joins at least one trip a year. It is this depth of experience that makes KE stand out from other adventure travel operators. When you contact KE, by phone or e-mail, or visit our office, you will find the help and advice you need, from someone who has actually done the trip and can give you the benefit of their first-hand experience. KE can guarantee the very best in trek support, excellent food, a good standard of hotel and camp accommodation, plus the back up of one of the most respected companies in the business. Client satisfaction is at the top of our agenda and almost 50% of our bookings each year come from repeat business. If you are looking for adventure then look no further than KE. RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AND AWARDS Responsible Tourism has always fitted naturally with KEs travel ethic. It is important to us that our clients are not the only beneficiaries of the travel experience, but that we share a two-way relationship with the areas that we visit. We make sure that our local staff are well treated and well paid, we respect indigenous cultures, take care to protect the environment and make the most of every opportunity to make a positive contribution wherever we travel. In addition to holding an AITO 5-star Sustainable Tourism rating, we are recipients of AITO s Achievement in Sustainable Tourism Award in recognition of the work carried out over the past 20 years, giving back to the communities and areas we visit. We have been awarded Highly Commended status in the Best Tour Operator category of the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards, and were named Best Trekking Operator on Earth by National Geographic Magazine, whose criteria included commitment to responsible tourism. We continue to travel responsibly, and more information on our policy, practice, and specific projects can be found at www.keadventure.com, and on the website of our partner charity the Juniper Trust: www.junipertrust.co.uk. KEs Mountain Code is issued to our staff, trek leaders and overseas agents, and we recommend it to our clients, too! Your Complete Financial Protection KE Adventure Travel is a fully licensed and bonded tour operator. We are a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), bonded with the CAA (ATOL 2808) and ABTA licensed (W4341). You can book your trip with KE Adventure Travel in complete confidence that all monies you pay for a trip are fully protected. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY Making a Booking The easiest way to make your booking is online. You will need to pay a deposit at the time of booking. This is normally 200 but for some holidays with special permit fees or internal flights, this may be more. The amount of deposit required for an individual holiday is given on the dates and prices page of the holiday. Late bookings will require full payment. We cannot confirm any booking until we receive your fully completed booking form. Adventure Travel Insurance IMPORTANT - It is a condition of joining any of our trips that you are insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). We also strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance, as all deposits paid are non-refundable. Please ensure that your insurer is aware of your KE Adventure itinerary and can agree to cover the activities being undertaken. You will then need to advise us of your policy details and complete an Insurance Declaration Form.

PAGE 11 CAMPBELL IRVINE DIRECT travel insurance is available to EU residents and will cover the majority of KE Adventure holidays. It has been designed to provide cover for activities normally excluded by other insurers such as trekking, mountain biking and climbing. Please note that certain activities may attract a higher premium. In addition Campbell Irvine Direct cannot provide cover for KE climbing trips above 6000m. Cover for these can be obtained through either the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) or Snowcard. TRAVELEX is a USA based insurer offering travel insurance, which can be used by US citizens and US residents only. KE recommends the "Travelex Select" package for our holidays. If your holiday involves using mountaineering equipment (ropes, harness or crampons), for climbing or glacial travel, you should consider the "Adventure Plus Pak" optional upgrade on the Travelex Select Plan. Please refer to the 'Description of Coverage' for a summary of the terms, conditions, exclusions and limitations of the applicable Protection Plan. This policy will also cover KE climbing trips above 6000m. We hope that this trip notes has answered most of your questions. Please feel free to contact us and speak to one of our experts.
