ITINERARY DAY 1: RIO DE JANEIRO When you arrive in Rio your local guide will meet you and take you to your beach front hotel. You then have the rest of the day to settle in and begin to explore Rio. DAY 2: RIO DE JANEIRO This morning you will be taken to visit the most famous landmark of the city, the statue of Christ the Redeemer. You will embark on a comfortable train which will climb the mountain, where the statue is located (2.300ft above sea level). From here you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. The statue has been elected one of the "New Wonders of the World". (B) DAY 3: RIO DE JANEIRO Today you will have a free day in Rio de Janeiro. (B) DAY 4: RIO DE JANEIRO- IGUACU Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguacu, where you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel. (B)
DAY 5: IGUAZU FALLS Today you will be taken to the Argentine border where you will go through passport control before continuing to the Argentine side of the spectacular Iguazu falls. After entering the protected area you will embark upon a series of circuits around the falls. Highlights include the rock bridges of the Devil's Throat falls, the amazing flora and fauna and the multitude of rainbows that spring up in the spray of the falls. (B) DAY 6: IGUACU - SALVADOR This morning your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you into the Brazilian National Park to visit the Brazilian network of the falls. Later this afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Salvador. When you arrive in Salvador you will be met by your local guide and taken to your hotel in Pelourinho. (B) DAY 7: SALVADOR This morning's excursion will allow you to explore the architecture and history of Pelourinho, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with your guide. You will then have the afternoon free to enjoy Salvador at your own leisure. (B) DAY 8: SALVADOR - PRAIA DO FORTE Today you will be driven north about an hour up the coast to the small eco-resort of Praia do Forte, where you will spend the next couple of days relaxing on the beaches.
