TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. PROMOTION PERIOD The Aeroplan Star Challenge Promotion ("Promotion") will commence on May 1, 2012 at 12:00:01 a.m. EST and will run until May 28, 2012 at 11:59:59 p.m. EST (the "Promotion Period"). 2. ELIGIBILITY The Promotion is open to all Aeroplan Members residing in Canada. 3. PROMOTION Aeroplan Members will receive Aeroplan Stars ("Stars") on each qualifying transaction with each participating Aeroplan Partner (participating partners and Stars allocation listed below) during the Promotion Period. Aeroplan Members will be entitled to receive 1,500 Bonus Aeroplan Miles if they make a sufficient amount of transactions with the participating Aeroplan Partners to accumulate 35 Stars during the Promotion Period. Aeroplan Members will be entitled to receive an additional 15,000 Bonus Aeroplan Miles if they make a sufficient amount of transactions with the participating Aeroplan Partners to accumulate 70 Stars during the Promotion Period. If a member does not reach or exceed the specified levels during the Promotion Period, they will not be eligible to receive the bonus miles. A maximum total of 16,500 Bonus Aeroplan Miles can be earned by each member during the Promotion Period. This Promotion can be combined with other Aeroplan offers. QUALIFYING TRANSACTIONS are defined as: Members must use their Aeroplan Card or present a valid Aeroplan Number at the point of purchase and/or transaction, and earn/accumulate at least one (1) Aeroplan Mile, in order to be eligible. Stars will not be awarded on refunds of earlier transactions. Bonus transactions, where members earn both base miles & bonus miles from the same activity, are not qualifying transactions. 4. STAR ALLOCATION PER TRANSACTION FOR THE PROMOTION Financial Cards Aeroplan Members who are also Aeroplan-affiliated financial cardholders in good standing will earn 5 Stars only once at the beginning of the Promotion Period, regardless of the number of Aeroplan-affiliated financial cards they hold. The American Express AeroplanPlus charge cards, the American Express AeroplanPlus Corporate charge card, the CIBC Aero Classic VISA TM card, the CIBC Aerogold VISA card for Business, the CIBC Aerogold VISA TM and the CIBC Aerogold VISA Infinite TM card qualify as Aeroplanaffiliated financial cards. Aeroplan Miles earned through transactions on the American Express AeroplanPlus charge cards and CIBC VISA cards ARE NOT eligible for this promotion. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS Bonus miles will be awarded based on transactions made with Aeroplan Partners (excluding financial partners) between May 1 and May 28, 2012. In the case of car rentals, hotel stays, air travel and parking partners, the activity date must have occurred between May 1 and May 28, 2012. For hotel stays, check-in and check-out dates must occur between May 1 and May 28, 2012. For car rentals, pick up date must occur between May 1 and May 28, 2012. Costco.ca To receive Aeroplan Miles for online purchases at Costco.ca, Aeroplan Members must register an accurate Costco membership number, Aeroplan Number and e-mail address in the designated boxes on the registration page. Club Sobeys Club Sobeys program is only available at participating Sobeys stores in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. In order to be eligible to earn Aeroplan Miles, member must opt-in to
automatically convert Club Sobeys points to Aeroplan Miles. To earn your miles, just swipe your Club Sobeys card every time you shop at the closest participating Sobeys store. 7. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION By participating in this Promotion, each member accepts and agrees to these official Terms and Conditions. Aeroplan and its respective affiliates may, at their sole discretion and without liability, rescind or amend this Promotion at any time. 8. LIABILITY By participating in this Promotion, each member acknowledges and agrees that Aeroplan: (i) shall have no liability of any kind whatsoever with respect to this Promotion; (ii) make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning the award; (iii) disclaim any implied warranty; and (iv) are not liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from an entrant's acceptance or use of the award or otherwise from such entrant's participation in this Promotion. DISQUALIFICATION Aeroplan reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual from the Promotion and to ban the individual from any future promotion that it finds or believes to be tampering with the process or the operation of the Promotion, to be acting in violation of the Terms and Conditions or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempt by a member or any other person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Aeroplan reserves the right to seek damages from any such person. 10. TERMINATION OR SUSPENSION If the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Aeroplan which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Promotion, Aeroplan reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Promotion, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way. 11. GOVERNING LAW This Promotion is governed by all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations applicable in the province of Quebec. 12. LANGUAGE In the event of any discrepancies between the English language rules and the French language rules for this Promotion, the English rules shall prevail. 13. MILES CREDITING Aeroplan Members need to allow for varying delays for base Aeroplan Miles to be credited to the members accounts and for transaction data from the partners to be communicated to Aeroplan. Delays may vary between two (2) days and eight (8) weeks. Bonus Aeroplan Miles will be credited to the eligible Aeroplan Members accounts within six (6) to eight (8) weeks following the last eligible transaction.
