I chose Verbier because it s an amazing year round destination and offers worldclass skiing, fabulous après-ski and everything you could wish for in a summer escape! ROOMS MASTER SUITES Located on the top floor (4th floor), with magnificent views of the mountains and valley opposite, both Master Suites are very spacious with feature centrepiece fireplaces, a sitting area and mini-bar. For families who would like interconnecting rooms, there s a secret door in the bookcase which connect the two Master Suites together. Your room The Lodge is the perfect place for holidaying with friends and family. This picture perfect chalet sleeps up to 18 adults in seven beautifully decorated luxury bedrooms and two stunning Master Suites, all enjoying views to the valley below. An additional six children can be accommodated in the kid s bunk room. BEDROOMS Located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, each bedroom is uniquely designed. Our Duplex Room is is set across two floors with a bathroom located up a set of stairs. Room 3 has a corner balcony but does not have a separate shower room. Room 2 has a separate shower but does not have a balcony. All bedrooms (apart from the Duplex Room) can be made up with double-king size or twin beds. LARGE BEDROOMS Located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, all four large bedrooms are very spacious and have balconies and large bathrooms with separate showers and bathtubs. All bedrooms can be made up with double-king size or twin beds. BUNK ROOM The Bunk Room is located on the 2nd floor and can accommodate six children. It comes equipped with three sets of bunk beds, a separate shower room, a plasma screen TV with a DVD player, a games console and bean bags perfect for some time away from the adults.
DINING What s on the menu? The food served at The Lodge is one of the highlights of your stay, and we serve a mix of Swiss and international cuisine. Dining can be as formal or informal as you wish, from full four-course gourmet feasts to healthy meals with the children. Meals can be themed, traditional or a mix! We also stock a great range of international wines, top quality spirits, international beers and of course plenty of bubbles!
SUMMER In summer meals are served communally, giving you a chance to share what you ve been up to during the day with other guests. Our rates include breakfast, light lunch and dinner as well as all drinks (including alcohol). You can dine al fresco whilst enjoying the fresh mountain air on the terrace where there is a BBQ and bar area. We re happy to arrange private dinners for a special occasion just ask us about which rooms would work best for this. WINTER In winter our rates include breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner on all but one night during the week, when you ll be able to sample the best of Verbier s culinary delights. If you make it back to The Lodge for lunch, or if you choose to stay behind during the day, a light lunch will be served. All guests are encouraged to treat The Lodge like their own home and are welcome to help themselves to drinks at any time.
FAMILY The Lodge is a great place for a family holiday as we have plenty of things for children to do. We call kids staying at The Lodge, The Lodge Rangers and offer a welcome pack and a range of great activities available on request, including children s DVDs, toys, a games console, books, games and treasure hunts in the evenings if they are not too tired after a long day out. If you have a rather large group of Lodge Rangers, or if you d just prefer it, we can arrange a set programme with some advance notice - just let us know the ages and interests of the Rangers concerned, and we ll come up with with plenty of ways to keep them entertained! The Lodge has a kid s bunk room which can accommodate six children. We can also arrange babysitting for an extra charge; just give us at least 24 hours notice. Please note that during peak weeks and school holidays, we may need more notice to ensure that we can have a babysitter available. Special food and beverages or simple snacks and light meals can be prepared.
Party time It s time to let your hair down in the party room! You can shoot some pool or dance the night away to thumping tunes, all underneath a twinkling disco ball. If you want to take it easy we can pop on a film for you and your friends or family while you enjoy a few drinks from the bar. Or if you fancy venturing out into Verbier the town boasts over 40 restaurants ranging from the simple to the stylish. Just ask us for our recommendations.
EXPLORE INDOOR POOL AND JACUZZIS Relax those aching muscles in the indoor or outdoor Jacuzzis after a day out it s heaven! Or just refresh yourself with a dip in our 9m heated indoor pool. STEAM ROOM If you want to unwind at the end of the day you can let off some steam in our steam room. It s also a great way to purify your skin.
SPA TREATMENTS After an active day on the mountains there s a good chance your muscles will be aching after all that effort. Relax and unwind with a treatment in the capable hands of our resident beauty therapist. Ask our reservations team for a full list of spa treatments. GYM Need a little more stamina? Visit the gym and workout on the treadmill, bike, cross-trainer and free weights station and afterwards ease those muscles on the stretching mats. We ve even got a plasma screen TV, DVD player and music system to keep you entertained.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES Everyone knows that Verbier is a fantastic resort in winter, but did you know about all the great things to do in summer? From paragliding to canyoning! wine tasting, yoga, rock climbing, extreme mountain biking, golf, tennis, or hiking there is fun for all ages. Burn some energy with with a swim in The Lodge s 9 metre pool; play on the games console, shoot some pool in the games room, relax in one of two Jacuzzis or be pampered by our in-house spa therapist.
MOUNTAIN BIKING Verbier is home to the legendary Grand Raid BCVS, stages of the Tour de Suisse and the Swiss downhill championships. With hundreds of kilometres of biking trails, ranging in terrain and gradient, there is something for every level of mountain biker. If it is the downhill adrenaline rush you are after without the effort of the uphill climb, take advantage of the lift service which operates from the beginning of July to mid-september. A day on the mountain with your bikes doesn t have to be extreme; it can be the ideal activity for all the family to enjoy. HIKING It doesn t get more Swiss than a hike in the mountains, however, a day s walking in the mountains doesn t have to be steep and difficult. We are lucky to have a stream that runs across the middle of the mountain called the Bisse. Originally used to take fresh water from the glacier at Mont Fort to the village of Levron, it is now maintained for walkers and is totally flat for the majority of the walk. There are several different options to make the walk more substantial, and depending on your start point, it can be either a 45 minute walk, or a 4 hour hike, with everything in between. There are also several mountain restaurants for a refreshing glass of water, or wine! If you would like something a bit more challenging there are several options ranging from a 3 hour hike with a swim in a mountain lake, to a full day s 7 hour difficult hike - again, with all options in between. We can either talk you through the walk on a map, and point you in the right direction, or organise an external guide for the day. MOUNTAIN SCOOTERS A fleet of Arapaho mountain Scooters is kept by Télé-Verbier, the lift operators, and you can do a lap from the top of Ruinettes down to Médran which is a short walk from The Lodge. The run takes 20 minutes on average. CANYONING Don a wet suit and take to the water! Brave the icy cold snow-melt water and climb and jump your way down a waterfall and river bed. With an experienced mountain guide with you, you ll use a variety of climbing and scrambling techniques to negotiate a course down and through gorges and waterfalls, including jumping into pools along the way. PARAGLIDING Why not take to the sky and see the spectacular sights Verbier has to offer from the air? Take a tandem flight where you can sit back and enjoy the experience, or take a course and go solo. ROCK CLIMBING There are many rock climbing areas in the Bagnes Valley, suitable for beginners and advanced climbers. These include Pierre Avoi, La Barme, Madzeria (near Mauvoisin), Sembrancher and La Fouly. The staff at The Lodge will be more than happy to arrange climbing excursions for you. TENNIS Whether you re looking for group or individual lessons, our tennis coach can prepare a tennis programme for any skill level. We have racquets and balls to lend to guests too. YOGA Where better to relax, and heal than in the fresh mountain air? There are several mountain top locations for yoga practice and classes can be held outdoors or at The Lodge.Lodge. A great combination is a gentle hike with a session of yoga up on the mountain. Please note: External companies provide most of the activities listed above. WINTER ACTIVITIES The Lodge sits in the four valleys an area starting in Verbier and stretching all the way into Nendaz, passing through Veysonnaz, Thyon, and La Tzoumaz, to the furthest point in Les Masses and also includes Bruson. All of these resorts can be accessed with a single ski lift pass, offering the avid skier over 400km of pistes, and probably more again off piste making it one of the largest skiable areas in the alps.
SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING IN VERBIER The ski area around Verbier includes 195km of marked pistes of all standards and of every exposure divided over the sectors of Les Ruinettes, Les Attelas, Savoleyres, Bruson and within the resort. The artificial snow-making system of Les Attelas at 2,730m all the way down to Verbier at 1,500m enables not only a descent directly into The Lodge, but an extended ski season right up until the end of April. You can take advantage of the 34 lifts which are amongst the most modern in the world, including the Funispace, a 30 person enclosed cable car and a 125 person jumbo from Tortin to Gentianes HELI-SKIING For the advanced skiers in your party we can organise heli-skiing trips. This is definitely a way to get the adrenaline pumping and get away from the crowds! Your guide will meet you on the morning at The Lodge to discuss the plan and route. It could be a descent all the way from the top of Petit Combin to Fionnay, covering over 2,400m of vertical, or a couple of drops on the Glacier du Trient. BEGINNERS Learn at your own pace and comfort with extremely patient and understanding instructors. We ll give you the skills to enjoy the mountain and most importantly have some fun! ALL TERRAIN CLINICS Designed to help you move around the mountain with complete confidence and control knowing you can cope with anything that comes your way. You ll work on being able to slow down or speed up at will, control your speed on steeper terrain, plus you ll learn how to cope with a fresh fall of snow, handle crowded slopes and narrow paths. PISTE PERFORMANCE CLINICS Learn how to get the most out of your skis. Experience the g-forces of carving. Be inspired to experiment on the piste and enjoy the corduroy like never before! BUMPS In our mogul clinic we ll teach you the knowledge and skills needed for the bumps whilst on-piste, and then we ll apply them in the bumps, allowing you to tackle mogul slopes with confidence and control. VIDEO FEEDBACK AND ANALYSIS There is also the opportunity to see yourself on video and receive an in-depth analysis on your performance. We will sit down in front of the big screen with a warm hot chocolate or cold beer and talk you through the day s exercises and give personal feedback from the footage. ADVENTURE For you thrill seekers out there looking to go beyond the normal ski trip, we can help arrange heli-skiing, ski touring, ice climbing or day trips to Chamonix to ski the Vallée Blanche, or why not do a trip to Italy and ski over for lunch? Guides can be booked on arrival for these adventure trips and will be weather dependant. SNOW SHOEING If you like walking, you can try snowshoeing. It s easy to do, it doesn t require a lot of special techniques, and the fun begins as soon as you put the snowshoes on! Choose between a casual hike through the woods or a steep climb up the mountain. A great option is to walk up to lunch in your snow shoes and meet up with the skiers, getting you some fresh mountain air, and catching up on the morning news. It also allows you to go places where skiers can t! PARAGLIDING Why not take to the sky and see the spectacular sites of the Matterhorn in one direction and Mont Blanc in the other? Take a tandem flight where you can sit back and enjoy the experience. SLEDGING It s not just for kids! Although you may need the fearlessness of an 8 year old if you re going to give the 10km run in Savoleyres a go! Of all the activities in Verbier, this is probably the one where you re most likely to pick up some bruises it wouldn t be a bad idea to bring a crash helmet! FURTHER AFIELD For families or adventurous couples who are in the region for a longer stay, we would recommend hiring a car at Geneva airport, and making the most of the Valais area. Driving in Switzerland is very easy, and the freeways are very well maintained, with little traffic. Having your own car allows you the freedom to experience the following days away from the village. WINE TASTING There are many vineyards near Verbier and Swiss wine is a well-kept and closely guarded secret. Try some to find out why! We can either organise a tasting at The Lodge, or a trip to the wineries down the valley. Why not take a day out to learn about how the wine is made and enjoy a tasting or two! MAUVOISIN DAM At the very end of the Val de Bagnes sits an amazing lake and dam wall. The wall itself is an impressive 250m high, and you can walk the perimeter of the lake, which is around a 3 hour trip. Why not take a picnic and enjoy the views from the top of the wall. The drive there and back takes around an hour, and you pass through some amazingly picturesque villages and river scenes. ITALY OR CHAMONIX DAY TRIPS We have several maps and personal favourite spots in Chamonix, France or Aosta, Italy. Whether it s the old town, small delicatessens and history of Aosta, or the Mont Blanc, rock climbing and Aiguilles de Midi in Chamonix, each is just an hour s drive away over the respective borders, and is a great way to spend a day exploring another town, and country. Don t forget your Passport and Euros! MONASTERY AT GRAND ST BERNARD On the way to Italy at the top of the Col de Grand St Bernard sits a monastery built by the monks to shelter weary travellers. The dogs of the same name are also bred here, and in season, which is typically June to September the puppies are out and about. You can take a tour of the dog enclosures and monastery. UNDERGROUND CAVE Sierre, just outside Sion is home to Europe s biggest underground lake. You board a boat and the guide points out the history and geology of the watery underwater cave. It is over 300m long and 20 wide, the tour lasts around half an hour. ADVENTURE PARK Ropes, swings, tree ladders and leaps of faith! Built in the forests just outside Sion, this Adventure Park is not just for kids!

GETTING HERE GERMANY The nearest international airport is in Geneva, about a 2-hour drive from The Lodge. Private planes are able to land at Sion Airport which is only 45 minutes by car from the chalet. Zurich airport is about a 3 hour drive to The Lodge. We can arrange helicopter transfers on request from Geneva, Zurich and Sion Airports. You can also take the train directly from Geneva Airport to Martigny, a town about a 30 minute drive from The Lodge or onward to Le Châble, which is a 15 minute train journey.
