In fact, we ve been busy incorporating new aircraft to our fleet this year, along with many new faces to our organization. Hence, our new facility at Addison Airport in Dallas, will enable our growth in North Texas even further. At Wing Aviation, safety is paramount. Our enrollment in the Aviation Charter Safety Foundation s ASAP program will greatly enhance our ability to identify problems as well as implement industry leading fixes. I want to send a special thank you to Daniel Hagee and David Powell. Daniel has worked tirelessly as your Director of Training for the past few years, and without his dedication and knowledge, a lot of our growth would be stemmed. He was the natural choice to move into the Director of Operations position with the recent announcement of David Powell s upcoming departure. David s 5 years of service to Wing Aviation has been broad and sincerely effective, our Air Carrier Certificate is now modernized and streamlined. We wish them both well with their future positions. We also wish you safe travels this Summer whether for work or for pleasure. DAVID RIDDLE President, Wing Aviation driddle@wingaviation.com

TEXTRON AVIATION WORLD HEADQUARTERS 004 Scott Ernest & Dr. Dirk Laukien with Citation Longitude CESSNA CITATION FACTORY TOUR Textron Aviation s President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Ernest, gave Wing Aviation s top executives a behind-the-scenes tour of their Cessna Citation World Headquarters & production facilities in Wichita, Kansas. Cessna s Aviation history goes back to the early 1900s when Clyde Cessna, a farmer, built his own aircraft and flew it in June of 1911. He started his wood-and-fabric aircraft ventures in Enid, Oklahoma, testing many of his early planes on the salt flats. When bankers in Enid refused to lend him more money to build his planes, he moved to Wichita, Kansas. Today, Wichita is the home for Textron Aviation brands Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker, which account for more than half of all general aviation aircraft flying today, with more than 250,000 aircraft delivered in over 143 countries. Its broad range of products include Citation business jets, King Air and Caravan turboprops. Wing Aviation s visit was focused on Textron s new Citation business jet developments, including the clean-sheet design Latitude and Longitude models, as well as the pre-owned Citation and Hawker jets. Textron Aviation offers a diverse inventory of pre-owned, factory refurbished business jets and turbo props. The Citation Longitude brand-new super-midsize business jet is the Citation product-line s biggest model to date. The upto-12-passenger jet with a 3,500 nautical mile range is expected to receive Federal Aviation Administration type certification later this year, with customer deliveries to immediately follow. The first Longitude flew in October 2016 and to date, the flight test program s four aircraft have accumulated more than 550 hours. The Longitude as well as the Latitude production program takes advantage of new technologies such as monolithic machining where major assemblies are milled from a single piece of metal rather than assembled from smaller pieces, reducing the number of parts and resulting in more precise tolerances for easier assembly. Textron Aviation has also employed and expanded vertical tooling, which provides enhanced ergonomics for employees and make more efficient use of factory space.

WINGMEN + WOMEN 005 Update from Wingmen + Women Frank Zimerman Director of Customer/Vendor Relations Frank was instrumental in starting Wing Aviation, and recently celebrated his 20 th anniversary. Frank Zimerman s new duties will be focused on aircraft maintenance and upgrade planning, as well as vendor and customer support. Frank Zimerman holds an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration with an Inspection Authorization endorsement. Kari Van Winkle Director of Maintenance Kari Van Winkle is now in charge of our Maintenance group, with her 30 years of Aviation Maintenance Safety and Quality experience. She is an A&P Mechanic, obtained her Aviation Safety and Security Certification from University of Southern California, and holds ISBAO Safety Auditor accreditation. Daniel Hagee Director of Operations Daniel s aviation career expands 21 years to include flying Hawker, Learjet and Citation aircraft, as well as positions like Training Director, Chief Pilot and even Dispatch Manager. Daniel has an Associate Degree in Aviation Technology from Emery Aviation College and a Bachelors of Religious Education from Prairie Bible College. He took on the role of Director of Operations on June 1 st. Jamie Shain Director of Training and Standards Jamie started flying in 2003 carrying UPS air cargo along the East Coast. His diverse aviation career includes flying the Embraer 145/170/190 for the regional airlines as well as Boeing 767/747s for air cargo operations. Jamie assumed the role of Director of Safety at Wing Aviation in the past and returned to our team as our new Director of Training and Standards. Jamie graduated from the US Navy ATC and earned his B.S. in Professional Aeronautics with a minor in air traffic control from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Commercial Aviation and Safety at Delta State University. HOBBYFEST 2017 + Wing Aviation proudly supported the 25 th Anniversary of the HobbyFest hosted by the Hobby Area Management District on April 15, 2017. HobbyFest educates the local community about the Hobby Airport and supports the area residents. The Allen T. Johnson Memorial Scholarship offers $15,000 in scholarships every year to local students during the event. Over 5,000 people; kids & families attended the day long celebration at the William P. Hobby Airport.

HOUSTON ARTCC 006 Houston ARTCC OUR CREW MEMBERS RECENTLY TOURED THE HOUSTON AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTER (ARTCC) Wing Aviation Crew Members at Houston ARTCC ZHU ARTCC The Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZHU) is one of twenty air route traffic control centers in the United States providing continuous 24-hour service to the flying public. + The facility was constructed in June of 1965 on an 18-acre site adjacent to the George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport. + The Houston Center area of responsibility consists of nearly 300,000 square nautical miles of airspace encompassing parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and a large portion of the Gulf of Mexico. Within the Houston Center area, there are 22 FAA control towers, 16 approach control facilities, 87 major airports, and 15 military fields. Our crew members recently had the privilege of touring Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), which gave them an opportunity to better understand the men and women on the other side of the radar scope. During their visit they got to witness how the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) manage the amount of aircraft entering the Houston airspace, how they route traffic between centers, deal with bad weather, and still meet the demands of the airlines, military, and general aviation aircraft. Our group also had the opportunity to tour the control room and listen in as controllers directed traffic and worked their magic. www.zhuartcc.org

NBAA BUSINESS AVIATION CONVENTION & EXHIBITION 007 NBAA Regional Forum at Fort Worth Meacham Airport NBAA Regional Forum The Annual National Business Aviation Association s Regional Forum brought current and prospective business aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, customers and other industry personnel together for a one-day event at the Fort Worth Meacham Airport on March 23 rd. The Regional Forum incorporated exhibits, static displays of aircraft and education sessions that attracted over 2,000 attendees. ULTRA-LONG RANGE AIRCRAFT ON DISPLAY Large Cabin aircraft was the highlight of the NBAA Regional Forum this year, with Gulfstream and Dassault Falcon bringing their flagship models to Fort Worth Meacham Airport. The new Dassault Falcon 8X offers a longer range, 6,450 nm afforded by engine optimizing, aerodynamic refinements and an increase in fuel capacity. The 8X retains the safety and performance margin provided by a third engine eliminating the required diversion airport on a twin. Dassault says that third motor knocks off as much as 45 minutes of flight time on a long trip. The G650 still holds the crown for being the longest range business jet Gulfstream has ever built, with a range over 7,000nm. Traditionally offered with a three-zone cabin, the G650 is now available with a four-zone cabin. Features include forward and aft lavatories, a forward galley and vestibule, all with stone flooring. The first two zones feature conference-friendly seating configurations, while the third offers a meeting or dining area for six. The fourth zone, adjacent to the aft lavatory, includes a closet and a divan that transforms into a sleeping area. Gulfstream G650 with Four-Zone Cabin Wing Aviation s Tweet on the NBAA Forum was picked as the Tweet of the Week by NBAA s Weekly Update

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL REFORM INITIATIVE 008 WHAT THE AVIATION INDUSTRY IS SAYING ABOUT THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL REFORM INITIATIVE President Trump recently announced a plan to privatize the nation s air traffic control system a move that would remove the job of tracking and guiding airplanes from the purview of the Federal Aviation Administration. Privatization of air traffic control is an idea long supported by most of the commercial airlines. Many officials and experts are open to the change and the modernization of infrastructure, but the strongest pushback concerns the idea of user fees for general aviation. Here is what some industry experts are saying about the ATC Reform Initiative: MARK BAKER, AOPA PRESIDENT & CEO While Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) is open to proposals aimed at making the air traffic control system more efficient and delivering technology in a timely and cost effective manner, we have consistently said we will not support policies that impose user fees on general aviation. As the air traffic debate continues, we are also concerned about the impact of these proposed reforms on general aviation based on what we have seen in other countries. We applaud President Trump s calls to invest and improve our nation s infrastructure including our airports. However, the U.S. has a very safe air traffic system today and we don t hear complaints from our nearly 350,000 members about it. We will continue to work with the Administration and members of Congress including the General Aviation Caucus to ensure that safety, access, cost, and the freedom to fly are protected and addressed. JACK J. PELTON, EAA CEO & CHAIRMAN The White House principles make a gross misrepresentation that the air traffic control system is broken, but the facts don t support the claim. This proposal is a solution in search of a problem. Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) supports modernization of the American airspace system, and progress is happening with the input of all the system s stakeholders. This new plan would do nothing to solve any current technology or efficiency issues, while undermining the world s most extensive general aviation system and disrupting the world s largest and safest air traffic control system. It is a bad idea, and EAA will continue to state that to those in aviation, Congress, and the public. ED BOLEN, NBAA PRESIDENT & CEO National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has worked for many years to promote technologies, policies and procedures that ensure America s aviation system remains the largest, best, safest and most diverse system in the world. We are deeply concerned with the president s call for ATC privatization a concept that has long been a goal of the big airlines. No one should confuse ATC modernization with ATC privatization the two are very different concepts. We are concerned that those left behind under ATC privatization would be the citizens, companies and communities that rely on general aviation for all manner of services. GENERAL AVIATION MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (GAMA) The U.S. air traffic control system is the safest, most efficient, largest, technically advanced and most complex in the world. Jobs and continuing investment in the U.S. aviation system depend on a robust, stable and predictable climate for all users. We should not delay or prevent the system s progress or the country s growth for a risky transition to a new privatized entity for which only untested assertions about rewards or results can be made. Removing the U.S. air traffic control system from the FAA will create negative impacts for general aviation, rural and small communities, global leadership in air traffic control modernization and ongoing regulatory reform efforts.
