Experience Brazil UK Foz, Rio & Paraty +ECONOMIC [V3] Identity card Client: Experience Brazil UK Trip date: April 21-29, 2018 Duration: 9 days Visited countries Brazil We invite you to forget what you know about Brazil. We have much more than carnival and football. From the south (with its canyons and the largest remnant of Atlantic forest in the country), to the North (with beautiful beaches, culture and tradition), our country offers options that appeal to different traveler profiles. Ecotourism is the natural vocation of the country, which has numerous conservation areas that keep this amazing sceneries. Culture comes from a mix of ethnicities that transformed Brazil in what is now the world's most cultural mixing country. From Japanese to German, everywhere you find descendants from all over the world living in harmony and creating a unique way of life. Always full of happiness! The weather is an important attraction, since it is hot year in much of the country, and the southern region also please those who like a milder climate, with a more marked winter. Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro Dive sites, trails, the wetlands, the Amazon, indigenous communities, culture, history and intense contact with nature. This is Brazil!

Regions to discover Foz do Iguaçu Foz do Iguaçu is nothing less than a "New Wonders of Nature," according to the New Seven Wonders Foundation. It is hard to imagine any person who has visited Foz do Iguaçu and was not delighted with the strength and beauty of the falls, a series of 275 waterfalls reaching up to 90 meters high. On the Brazilian side, a trail takes you to visit the bottom of the falls with a view to Devil's Throat, and on the Argentinian side, the most rudimentary track, "Wild," will take you to the top of the Devil's Throat with a spectacular view. We definitely recommend visiting both sides! In addition to this wonder of nature, Foz do Iguaçu provides an abundance of interesting and adventurous activities, such as taking the Macuco Safari Boat Tour, which runs through the canyons and leads you to take a bath in the waterfalls of Cataratas do Iguaçu. There are also helicopter, hiking and rafting tours available for the adventurous. Brazilian Falls Visiting the "Usina Hidrelétrica de Itaipu" (Hydroelectric Power Plant of Iguaçu) is also a must-see attraction of the giant turbines which turn water into energy. Located on the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the city saw a large increase in population and economic growth from the construction of the Itaipu Hydroelectric plant. It represents an important role in the region, as a large part of Brazil relies on its energy production. Rio de Janeiro Known as the Marvelous City, Rio de Janeiro is an amazing, and magical place! Surrounded by stunning mountains, white sandy beaches and tropical rain forest, Rio has one of the most spectacular sceneries and ecosystems of the world. A Portuguese navigator landed in the city in January 1502 and confusing bay with a river (Rio) named the region as "Rio de Janeiro." During the 17th century the city became important because of sugar cane export from its port, however what really made it boom was the gold rush in the 18th century. In 1763 the city became the capital of Brazil and continued as such until the creation of Brasilia in 1960. Rio is now considered the vacation capital of Brazil and its inhabitants, known as 'Cariocas', who live life with enthusiasm. At the beach, try the "mate" accompanied by the famous biscuit flour O Globo. In late afternoon a good choice is the neighbourhood of Urca where people gather to see the sunset and the night arrive. There are many options for food and snacks along the beach, including fresh coconut water and blended acai with granola, a local favourite. Be sure to check out some of the night markets and the famous Sunday Brazilian artisan and handicraft market located in the neighbourhood of Ipanema, just blocks away from the beach. Rio de Janeiro's beach Carnival and New Year's Eve are the main events in Rio, where you can meet travellers from around the world! Besides the festivities, mountaineering and climbing are very present during the days of Rio, and it is easy to see why, with the mountain rising off the beaches, resulting from the separation of the South American and African continents. There is always something to discover and enjoy in Rio, from the sunset at Arpoador's beach, samba in Lapa, walking through the streets of Santa Teresa, to of course, Carnival, creating some of the greatest mix of cultures in Brazil. You can venture on bike through the city, climb Sugar Loaf mountain or trek to Christ the Redeemer, visit the multiple and diverse beaches in the city, and even take a favela tour to have a once in a lifetime raw, and heart expanding experience.

Paraty The historic center of Paraty has preserved houses, and churches dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The streets that were paved by slaves with ancient stones, where the traffic of cars is prohibited, are still preserved and give the area its own unique look and feel. It's worth getting lost in the streets where you may find something new around every corner. Paraty started as a Portuguese settlement at an Indian village, and the junction of these two cultures became what we now call "Caiçara." From the caiçara cuisine you can't miss the chance to try the "Camarão Casadinho" which consists of fried bread with shrimp, creating a unique sandwich filled with local vegetable sauces and spices finished with cilantro and basil. Delicious! Also traditional in the region is the production of "cahcaça", dating back to the 17th century, with the history of sugar cane plantations. Paraty's soil and the rugged geography provided abundance of sugar cane, an ideal environment to turn the area into an alchoholic beverage producer during the colonial period of Brazil. The alcohol, traditionally combined with local fruit and sugar, can be found across Brazil in Caipirinhas. Paraty's historical center The city of Paraty combines history, culture, pristine nature, beaches and waterfalls; all in the same place. In the town of Trindade, 20 km away, you may find the wild beaches of "Sono" and "Caixadaço," both accessible only by trail or boat, which depart every day around the bay and its islands. Get ready for breathtaking landscapes and ocean scenery. 80% of the local area is occupied by protected areas which are home to waterfalls which form natural pools perfect for swimming, and mountains with beautiful trails to hike or trek. In addition, a great thing to do in Paraty is to participate in events that happen in the city, ranging from cultural events such as "Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty" or the Paraty International Literary Festival, to traditional festivals such as the "Festival da Pinga". São Paulo São Paulo is the capital city of the state of São Paulo. It is the main financial, corporate and commercial center of Brazil and South America, and has the largest population and area of any city in Brazil. To visit São Paulo is to visit one of the most important centers of Brazil, with characteristics of a fully globalized city. You can visit several monuments, parks and museums which reflect the cultures and histories of the whole of Brazil as well as international cultures too, as the Latin American Memorial Museum, the Portuguese Language Museum, the MASP and the Botanical Garden are all located ub São Paulo. São Paulo hosts multiple main Brazilian events during all seasons of the year, such as the International Biennial of Art, Formula 1, and São Paulo Fashion Week. São Paulo is one of the main Brazilian capitals, and therefore receives, with open arms, many Brazilian and foreign workers wishing to live in the city with tolerance and respect for diversity of creeds, ethnicity, sexual orientations and tribes that come to call this magnificent city home.
