Historical Note Station Casinos, Inc. is a gaming and resort company based in Summerlin, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas. The company was founded by Frank Fertitta, Jr. in 1976 with the opening of the Bingo Palace, later renamed Palace Station. In 1993 the company went public with an IPO. Station properties offer casino gaming such as table games, slot machines, bingo, video poker, and sports betting. As of 2014, the company owns and operates six small casino properties and eight major hotel/casino properties in the Las Vegas Valley, including Green Valley Ranch Resort and Red Rock Resort. In addition, Station Casinos manages a casino for a Native American tribe as well as the Thunder Valley Casino in Sacramento, California. In 2009 Frank Feritta passed away from a heart attack. As of 2015 the company is owned by Frank's sons Frank Ferritta III (Chairman and CEO) and Lorenzo Ferritta (Vice Chairman).
