The Great Trip to Alaska with Le Reve House Adventure Alaska Super fun: The best of the Last Frontier Tour Trekking & Safari 647-015 Alaska is known by travelers as the land of the last frontier. And it is here, in this area, where the natural beauty can be found. There are pristine islands, or the most majestic mountains or the strongest animals or the largest glaciers... well, Alaska means extreme synthesis, in the sense of extreme environmental conditions or extreme beauty of nature, which in summer reaches its highest levels of color and brilliance. Have you ever seen the impressive blue glow of a large iceberg on a clear day of full sun. It's really awesome! Or the incredible transparency of blue waters in a shallow lake on Mendenhall Glacier crevasse. Incredible views! The journey that we propose is a collection of things to do and see in Alaska: Inside Passage, Glacier Bay, White Pass railway, Kenai Fjords, the bears of Katmai, the large park of Denali, and much much more. Have fun! ITINERARY Day 1: Arrival in the West Upon arrival at Vancouver International Airport you will be greeted by one of our representatives who will accompany you to your hotel. During this transfer you will have your first sightseeing tour of the area between the airport and Downtown. You ll have dinner probably at the same hotel or in one of the restaurants along the beautiful English Bay. Day 2: Vancouver the Beauty!! The second day is devoted to visiting Vancouver, a beautiful city on the West Coast. Our guide will introduce you to the culture, history and habits of this part of Canada, characterized by a strongly multiethnic and balanced society. Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park Aquarium &

Suspension Bridge, the Capilano Hatchery (salmon hatchery) and West Vancouver parks the giant trees of Light House and Dundrave Park with picnic on the sea; Stanley Park And Aquarium. If there is time and desire - a guided tour to M.O.A., Museum of Antoplogy, the U.B.C., University of British Columbia. Upon return, dinner at a restaurant marked by the roadbook. Overnight stay at your hotel with breakfast. Day 3: Prince Rupert Probably you will start off today for the Inside Passage of Alaska. Today, by Le Reve House s van, you will be transferred to the airport and get on the plane that will take you to Prince Rupert. Arrival, transfer and accommodation in hotel. Rest of day: we recommend a visit to the Museum of Northern British Columbia (marked in the roadbook). Dinner and overnight stay. Day 4: Inside Passage & Alaska Today your adventure in Alaska begins from the Inside Passage: a real, huge "natural aquarium" teeming with extraordinary fauna consisting of whales, dolphins, sea lions, that you'll surely see pretty much of; it s full of beautiful landscapes with snow capped mountains, steep cliffs, lush forests and crystalline waterfalls which you can comfortably observe from the bridges of a ferryboat that is only a little different from cruise ships. In fact you ll be on the board of Alaska Marine Highway ferry (starting time varies depending on the day). First stage: Ketchikan. Accommodation in a hotel and overnight stay.

Day 5: Misty Fjords - 2 options The promise of emotions that even the name of Misty Fjords evokes, will be maintained during this long mini-cruise in the waters of the Misty Fjords National Monument. The territory, up to 17 thousand years ago, was covered by an enormous glacier that made it what it is now: long and narrow fjords, steep cliffs which rise up to over 2000 m, spectacular scenery that descend crystalline streams that flow into the sea, blue lakes, waterfalls and endless green forests. You can choose between a tour combined of a vessel on the way there and a scenic flight on the way back of about 5 hours and 30 minutes, or a boat only cruise lasting for about 4 hours. Upon return, it s time for a visit to the picturesque town, dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Ketchikan. Day 6: The second part of Inside Passage, Skagway Today we expect the second part of Inside Passage, by Alaskan Marine Highway ferry, on which this time you ll spend the night (or two nights, depending on day and time of departure) in a comfortable cabin. You will have more time to enjoy the spectacle of extraordinary nature that gradually will move in front of your eyes. You will arrive at the Port of Skagway, Alaska. Night in a lodge with breakfast included. Day 7: Skagway and White Pass train Today we expect a trip back in time that will make you relive the epic Gold Rush. Aboard a

vintage train you will travel along a stretch of railway, an engineering masterpiece, built to serve the traffic of the 19th century to Yukon and Klondike, for those who were hoping to find rich veins of precious metal. This narrow railroad climbs up to 2000 m above sea level in just 30 km, crossing narrow and deep valleys, through the bridges to dizzying heights. And it certainly isn't everything. Along the way you will see mountains, glaciers, gorges, forests, quiet and impetuous waterways. After this spectacular excursion, you will go to the airport for a short flight that will take you to Juneau. Upon arrival, you ll be transfered to Westmark Baranof hotel or similar one, with breakfast included. Day 8: Juneau Juneau, Alaska's capital, is considered by locals to be the most beautiful city in the country: it s also know by nickname "little San Francisco". We will start with a walk through the central streets populated by old pubs, art galleries, cozy bars and sophisticated restaurants. Today in the morning, you'll make your first trip, all fairly light: a paddle in a canoe on Mendenhall Lake to get in front of the glacier, navigating among icebergs, surrounded by an environment incredibly rich in wildlife. When finished, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 9: Glacier Bay After breakfast, you ll go to the airport and take a flight to Gustavus, the gate of Glacier Bay, the most important Alaskan glacier, along with Wrangell St. Helias, the World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 1979. Then you ll embark on a small cruise ship. On board a delicious lunch will be served. This fast yacht will allow you to get under the famous ice front and observe spectacular wildlife at the same time: beautiful orcas, dolphins and sea lions, but especially the great blue whales which at this time came from the southern seas to begin the mating period and breastfeeding of newborns.

When finished, transfer to the airport of Gustavus and a return flight to Juneau. Dinner at the restaurant. Night at a hotel in Juneau. Day 10: Admiralty Island This day will be dedicated to the bears of Admiralty Island, the "fortress of the bears", the area with the highest concentration of bears in the world: more than 1600 bears living on this island. From the docks of Juneau climb aboard a seaplane and, after one-hour flight, you'll be at your destination, where you can start watching the bears accompanied by your driver/guide. The tour (3 hours or 5 hours long) is scheduled to fully exploit the potential of the place for observation. Return to your hotel in Juneau for dinner and overnight stay. * Excursion to Admiralty Island is offered as an alternative to observation tour of the bears of Katmai, if, in the latter, the season in which you are travelling is not conducive to such an observation. Otherwise your trip to Glacier bay will last for two days, staying overnight at a lodge in the Park. Day 11: Anchorage Free time in the morning, then transfer to the airport and a flight to Anchorage. Accommodation in a hotel. Free time, dinner and overnight stay Day 12: Seward and Kenai Fjords Early in the morning, after breakfast you ll get on a comfortable coach bus that will take you to Seward. You'll be here for the trip in Kenai Fjords National Park & Preserve, which includes lunch on board. The Park, famous for its spectacular fjords, from which it takes its name, covers an area of more than 2,700 km2 in the Kenai Peninsula. Inside of it you ll find the Harding Icefields, which is among the largest of the United States, composed of at least 38 glaciers, many of which stay with their front to the sea. You can see them from your privileged vantage point. There is also a possibility to spot puffins and porpoises and even, depending on the season, humpback whales and orcas. At the end of this excursion you ll be accommodated in a hotel in Seward. Then you ll have free time, dinner and night stay.

Day 13: From Seward to Talkeetna through the glaciers You ll take a coach bus for convenient and spectacular transfer from Seward to Talkeetna. You will travel along the Seward Highway between the Kenai Mountains and you will cross the Turnagain Pass and then along the Turnagain Arm, an arm of the sea when the tide rises for about 10 metres, you can admire the beautiful Chugach Park before arriving at 12.00 to Anchorage, from where, after a refreshing break and a possible visit to the Museum of Anchorage, you will proceed to Talkeetna. During this second stage of the journey there, if weather conditions are good, you ll catch the wonderful views of Mount McKinley. If weather and schedule allows, the driver will make several stops to let you take some pictures. You will arrive at 17.30 to settle in Talkeetna Alaskan lodge, in a nic and comfortable double room. Free time for dinner and overnight stay. Day 14: Flight to the Glacier Today you can have an exciting and interesting excursion flying over the top of a glacier. You will leave Talkeetna by plane, and awesome scenery and memorable oddness of beautiful and mysterious nature will appear immediately in front of you. You are in the heart of Denali National Park, one of the wonders of Alaska and certainly the most admired and protected one. We will land right on the glacier where we ll take a little walk. At the end of the trip you

will return to Talkateena airport, having enough time to prepare for your transfer to Denali Park with a Motor Coach that will start from Talkateena Alaskan lodge at 6 pm to reach the Denali Princess lodge. A rafting trip is an option. Day 15: Visit to Denali Park This is your day of visit to Denali National Park. There are 39 species of mammals including black and grizzly bears, moose, big horns, white wolves and wolverines, then 167 species of birds, 10 species of fish as well as countless species of plants, flowers, mosses lichens, fungi and algae. The Kantishna Wilderness Trails bus will depart very early from your lodge and will cross the Park at almost all its extension. During the excursion you will be offered a snack and the lunch, included, will be served at Kantishna Roadhouse, where you'll also get a chance to see a demonstration of sled dogs. Back at the lodge you can choose whether to use the same bus or take a scenic flight and fly over the beautiful and huge Muldrov glacier and Alaska Range, the huge massif of the central mountains of Alaska. In just 55 minutes you will be back to your lodge, ready for a relaxing afternoon. Free time for dinner and overnight stay. Day 16: Denali Anchorage by Gold Star Dome Today, in early afternoon, you will be transfered to Denali Depot to start your spectacular journey on Gold Star Dome Train. At 12.25 you will get on on a seemingly normal train which, however, has special carriages with floor-to-ceiling windows. These will allow you to make a real "safari in motion" of the marvellous nature of Alaska, staying comfortably seated in your armchairs. We will reach the city of Anchorage at 8 pm. Accommodation in a hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 17: Transfer to Valdez This morning you will collect your rental car and with it you will transfer to Valdez. Will not be a mere transfer stage, but a path that will allow you to learn more about the natural wonders of Alaska. There is only one road connecting Anchorage to Valdez: the Ak 1 which leads to the Richardson Highway or AK 4. The road is about 450 kilometers long and you can cover it safely within six hours, crossing the Thompson Pass and descending into the narrow valley where Valdez is located. The trail offers many scenic points which deserve a break, such as Worthington glacier. Arrival in in Valdez in the evening, dinner and overnight stay in the hotel. Day 18: Trekking An entire day is dedicated to trekking in the glaciers of Vadez and/or Worthington with optional trekking excursions on ice with different degrees of difficulty. The guide will be your best option. According to your choice, the duration of this guided trekking can be 4-5 hours or full day. In the first case you can book half day paddling among ice, creeks and caves of ice, in complete safety and accompanied by an expert guide from which you will learn some concepts of geology and anything else that will help you to understand the nature around you. Upon return, dinner and overnight stay in the same hotel. Day 19: Back to Anchorage To return to Anchorage, you can choose to go back the same way or to release your rental car and take a comfortable flight as a faster option. In the latter case, you'll have enough free time for shopping before dinner.

Day 20: The bears of Katmai Your last day in Alaska will be dedicated to the observation of brown bears of Katmai National Park and Preserve, one of the world's most important areas for the observation of these impressive and fascinating animals. You can see them while, indifferent to the presence of humans (at a safe distance), they feed themselves with berries or salmon, depending on season and location. You ll reach Katmai by plane, then you will fly to Kulik or King Salmon and from here, on a seaplane you'll be transported to the best location for observation. After a briefing on the bears by the rangers, you will be free to wander safely within the Park, following predetermined paths linking the various locations. Arrival in the evening, dinner and overnight stay in the hotel. Katmai option for Day 20: On request, you can opt for 1 night stay at a lodge of the park instead of a day trip. Day 21 (or 22): - Return flight After a sumptuous breakfast, you ll have free time before the transfer to the airport for your return flight.
